"There's not a single good person in the entire Templar Order!" she snarled. "And you're not even human!"

But Sad only said, "That's because you don't understand how noble and great the goals of the Dragon Eater Association are. So, I won't blame you."

"Noble and great? Don't give me that crap. It's just about power," Lucy retorted. "You want the power to oppress and exploit others. Don't act like gaining power will turn you into saints, like Jesus!"

Sad simply watched Lucy, who was bristling like a little kitten, and said, "Miss Lucy, you're very beautiful."

Lucy froze, then immediately let loose a stream of curses. "Fuck you! Go to hell, you fucking scumbag, you goddamn pervert!"

Sad didn't understand the Chinese coming from her mouth. He just gently caressed her face and said, "It's just a pity about this pretty face of yours."

Lucy was still cursing, baring her teeth like a bristling feline. "Fuck you... My Compass was forged from Spring Gold, and you chipped a corner off with your knife, you bastard! In the East, that could buy a whole courtyard house!

"If I make it back alive this time, my master will divine your whereabouts! When that time comes, just you wait for my senior and junior brothers to come and settle the score with all of you!"

She snarled, enunciating every word, "Fuck. Your. Mother."

But since she was speaking Chinese, and because she was so beautiful, her flushed cheeks—though she was disheveled from the fierce battle—only gave her a tantalizing allure, as if she were playing hard to get.

Sad glanced at Lucy's messy hair and heaving chest, then at the "Baron Constantin" and the Third Generation Dragon Descendant guarding him not far away. After a moment's thought, he asked:

"How much time is left?"

"Baron Constantin" said coldly, "Five minutes. If he's not here by then, we go to Traitor's Cliff."

"That's enough." Sad smiled, grabbed Lucy's Daoist robe, and dragged her toward a corner.

His intentions were painfully obvious.

The Dragon Devourer Cultists who had undergone the transformation let out a series of roars.

In truth, ever since swallowing the Dragon Hearts and turning into half-human, half-dragon monsters, they had lost all human reason. Their roars were nothing more than the animal instinct for survival and procreation.

The few trusted Griffin Knights who had come with Sad let out muffled chuckles. One Knight even shouted at the top of his lungs, "Only ten minutes? Is Knight Commander Sad in a hurry?"

Sad's booming laugh was the reply. "Finish in a hurry? You guys can line up when I'm done!"

The Griffin Knights were overjoyed. This was a member of the Dragon Slayer Beowulf Family's Direct Lineage, a favored daughter of the Inner Side. To think they would get a chance to have her... They all cheered him on with gusto.

"Baron Constantin" watched this scene with a cold snort, then looked toward Traitor's Cliff. The sky there was dark with tribulation lightning; clearly, something major was about to happen.

"Baron Constantin" looked at Gold and the other Law Enforcers lying on the ground. His gaze lingered on the Faith Knight, Jiang Ge, for a moment. Then, he touched his Golden Eye and whispered:

"Why aren't you here yet... Baron Constantin... I've been waiting for this day for so long."

Then, like a bolt from the blue, a Thunder Strike crashed down in the very corner where Sad had dragged Lucy.

By the time the Dragon Devourer Cultists approached at a signal from the "Fake Baron," Sad was emerging from the corner, covered in soot and ash. In his hand was a life-sized Paperman.

Meanwhile, Lucy appeared on the other side of the battlefield, forming hand seals and shouting, "Fuck you! You want me to go down on you? I'll bite your fucking dick off!"

She immediately began chanting, and another torrent of Celestial Thunder descended, striking the unprepared Sad. It zapped him until he was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, charred and numb.

But ultimately, it didn't severely injure him.

After all, Sad was a Contract Knight close to the Bronze Tier—tough and resilient. He reacted in an instant, using [Griffin Feather] to attack Lucy, who was still forming hand seals to summon more lightning.

But the feather arrow only pierced another Paperman. Lucy reappeared on the other side of the battlefield, simultaneously forming hand seals to call down more Thunderbolt. Sad was caught off guard, unable to parry or counterattack. He could only shout to the Fake Baron, "Aren't you going to help me?"

The Fake Baron glanced at the Third Generation Dragon Attendant beside him. The Dragon Attendant understood immediately. It rushed toward the falling Thunder Strike, opened its great maw, and swallowed the lightning plasma whole.

This was a Third Generation Electric Dragon of the Thunder Dragon Faction—the very one killed by Isabella.

This was how Lucy knew: these Dragon Devourer Cultists had been infiltrating the Dracul Mountain Range for a long time, which meant they had also been plotting this for a long time.

Swallowing the Thunder Strike seemed to not be enough for the Electric Dragon Attendant. It spread its wings and flew up into the storm clouds that were brewing with lightning, devouring it all.

Lucy's face turned deathly pale. But it wasn't over. The humiliated and enraged Knight Commander Sad was charging at her with those few Griffin Knights and the Dragon Devourer Cultists.

Lucy immediately clenched her jaw. She threw a handful of beans from her robes, then spat a mist of water from her lips onto them. The beans instantly expanded into armored soldiers with iron masks and bronze helms.

This was precisely the [Sowing Beans into Soldiers] Taoist Skill she had recently learned from Daoist Zhou, a skill that generally only Profound Rank Daoists could use.

(PS: Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow is the Eastern system for realm division, corresponding to the Western ranks of Black Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.)

Because Lucy was still at the Black Iron rank, her Spiritual Power supply couldn't keep up. As a result, these Bean Soldiers were rather blurry in appearance, with some even missing arms and legs. Still, Lucy estimated they could probably delay the Dragon Devourer Cultists and Griffin Knights for a little while.

Immediately after, she pulled out a ring of interconnected Papermen, flinging them in dozens of different directions. In an instant, the Papermen transformed into her likeness and fled.

When Sad and his men broke through the blockade of Bean Soldiers and saw this, their eyes widened. They clearly hadn't expected this Eastern Daoist Skill to be so bizarrely mystical. A Wizard, at least, needed a Magic Card and a Magic Staff. But this Daoist could do all this with just a few mumbled words and a couple of random hand gestures. It felt like cheating.

"Don't let her escape and alert others!" Sad ordered his Griffin Knights to give chase.

The Griffin Knights fanned out, but with so many Papermen, they couldn't tell which was the real one and were at a loss.

Knight Commander Sad knew this wasn't working, so he looked at the Fake Baron again. With a casual wave from the Fake Baron, the Electric Dragon Attendant high above—the one that had devoured all the lightning—wore a pained expression. Still, it obeyed, waving its own hand to call down thousands of Thunderbolts, annihilating all the fleeing Papermen.

Only a single woman remained, having blocked the lightning strike with a Duster. That had to be the real one.

Although she had blocked the attack, she was clearly not unscathed. While running, she stumbled and fell to the ground.

Sad seized the opportunity. He swung his arm, and thousands of Griffin Feathers materialized behind him. A vicious glint flashed in his eyes as he pointed a finger, sending the Griffin Feathers shooting toward Lucy like arrows loosed from a bow.

Without hesitation, Lucy scrambled up and swung the Duster, blocking most of the Griffin Feathers. She managed to dodge a few more with her footwork. But for the ones she couldn't evade... she could only stare blankly, like a prisoner facing judgment before their execution.

Then a thought flashed through her mind— 'So the great misfortune the Compass predicted... was it talking about me?'

The Griffin Knights shook their heads and sighed at the sight. A pity for such a stunning beauty, and a shame to waste that incredible chest.

Just in the nick of time, a figure suddenly flashed in from the side, blocking the Griffin Feather that was about to hit Lucy with his arm.

CLANG!

The Griffin Feather—said to be able to pierce solid steel—only managed to penetrate a third of an inch into the arm.

Lucy looked at the person, her gaze freezing. Her red lips moved slightly, and the words tumbled out without thinking: "It's you!"
