Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System

Chapter 332: Luck Orb

The first rays of morning light filtered through the curtains of Room No. 101.

Vikram slowly opened his eyes, feeling unusually refreshed. His body still carried the pleasant exhaustion from the passionate night. He turned his head and saw Lilith sleeping peacefully beside him.

She looked breathtakingly beautiful in the soft morning glow. Her long hair was slightly messy, spread across the pillow. The silk sheet had slipped down slightly, revealing the smooth curve of her shoulder and the faint marks he had left on her fair skin during their intense union. A small, satisfied smile lingered on her lips even in sleep.

Vikram watched her quietly for a moment. Last night’s memories flashed through his mind — her soft moans, the way she trembled beneath him, the moment he took her virginity, and how eagerly she had surrendered herself to him. His lust from the previous night had been thoroughly satisfied.

He reached out gently and brushed a strand of hair away from her face. Lilith stirred slightly but didn’t wake, letting out a soft, contented sigh as she snuggled deeper into the pillow.

Vikram’s lips curved into a faint smile. He leaned down and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

After watching her sleep for another minute, he carefully slipped out of bed. He dressed quietly, not wanting to disturb her peaceful rest. Before leaving, he glanced back one last time at her sleeping figure.

"Thank you for last night," he whispered softly.

Vikram then opened the door and stepped out of Room No. 101, closing it gently behind him. The corridors of the shelter were still quiet in the early morning.

His mind quickly shifted back to reality. Time to return.

Ron and others were joking with Vikram, when he decided to return back.

He has also got the news that Snape has died at the Warry’s hand.

Seeing that Vikram arrived back, Divya started telling him in the details how Archy, Ranzy and Warry performed yesterday.

Hearing this, Vikram pats on their heads, which pleased them.

Anjali then suddenly started sniffing Vikram, "What are you doing?" Vikram asked in a confused tone.

But before he got an answer, Luna and Sophia also started sniffing him, and Vikram realized a danger was approaching him.

And before he could run away from the danger, they all three him inside the bedroom.

Since their physique was above fifty, they could already smell that some other woman’s scent was on him. And how could they not realise what he has done.

But instead of becoming angry, they punished him by mating all day.

"Did the girl of yesterday be as amazing as us?" Anjali asked, looking at Vikram.

"Cough, cough!"

Using a cough to cover his embarrassment, Vikram immediately changed the subject.

"Alright, whether it was yesterday’s auction or yesterday’s battle, the Shelter can be said to have reaped abundant rewards."

Yesterday, besides acquiring the Legendary-level orb that everyone desired at the Crimson Desire Shelter auction, Snape was also killed on the spot afterwards.

The treasures on his person were all bought at high prices from the auction, and their total value was almost comparable to the orb.

Vikram was genuinely delighted today.

Not only did he gain a lot, but he also got rid of Snape, a thorn in his side.

Although Green Wind Shelter still exists, Vikram will also take it in his control later.

He wasn’t in a hurry to look at the drops from Snape.

"And also I got amazing things," Vikram said as he brought out the Tsunami Wave Orb.

Seeing him taking out the Tsunami Wave Orb, they asked in confusion, "What is this?"

Vikram didn’t replied them immediately, but look again the effect in the system.

[Tsunami Wave Orb: Gold, one-time use. The user’s four-dimensional physique increases by 3 points each, with a 50% chance of gaining the special ability, Tsunami Wave. If the user already possesses a Water-type ability, there is a 70% chance for that ability to evolve. There is also a chance for Water-type attacks and abilities to develop into Ice-type abilities.]

[Tsunami Wave: With this ability, the host can freely control nearby water sources, or generate and control a mass of water on their own. Water attacks possess greatly increased power and control. As the ability develops, it may evolve into more advanced Water or Ice-related abilities.]

Although Vikram had already obtained some weapons with special abilities, they were all within a comprehensible range.

However, the ability of this Legendary-level treasure completely exceeded his understanding.

Previously, he had only thought of using the orbs to unlock the evolution of his Plant Team. And if the Water Mage had not evolved, he might have considered using it to evolve them.

But now, he realized that the orb also had a chance of granting abilities to normal people.

As the orb rested in his palm, a sky-blue light instantly filled the entire living room, reflecting off the interior like shimmering water.

The patterns on the orb were layers of overlapping waves. They appeared to be carved, but when Vikram’s fingertip traced them, there was no unevenness or obstruction; it was as smooth as if it had just been created.

The four women, who had been idly resting, came to Vikram’s side, one on his left and one on his right, looking at the glowing orb with eyes full of surprise.

"What grade of item is this exactly? Is it really as magical as you told us?"

Divya reached out and poked the orb in Vikram’s hand. After obtaining the orb, Vikram had already sent Divya a message about it.

Back at the auction, it had been difficult to see clearly from a distance.

Now, seeing it up close, the prestige of a Legendary-level item was immediately evident.

Even the three women, excluding Luna, who had already seen many rare treasures with Vikram, couldn’t help but reveal expressions of amazement.

Vikram didn’t speak and only nodded in response.

The System’s analysis couldn’t be wrong, and the orb’s effects were probably genuine.

However, Vikram was currently very troubled, his eyes filled with complex emotions.

The ability to control water sounded amazing, but he didn’t know what to do with it.

Should he use it on himself, or give it to someone else?

Of course, by someone else, he only meant one of his wives.

He also didn’t want to use it on himself because it only provided a chance of obtaining the ability, not a guaranteed success.

Vikram knew he had terrible luck. Whenever he played any gacha game on Earth, he was basically cursed, always having to hit pity just to get the character or item he wanted.

Even though he had experienced a stroke of luck before by obtaining the Berserk Mode skill with only a 0.5% chance, he still didn’t dare gamble on this mere 50% chance.

After all, it was obvious that this item was extremely rare, and if he wasted it for nothing, he would truly be heartbroken.

After thinking for a moment, he still asked the System in his mind, "System, isn’t there any way to increase the chance of gaining this orb’s special ability?"

Unexpectedly, after he asked this question, the System seemed as if it hadn’t heard him, remaining silent for a long time.

It wasn’t until nearly ten minutes had passed that the familiar mechanical voice finally sounded in his mind.

This question seemed to have stumped the System.

It was the first time Vikram had ever seen the System take so long to reply.

[Reporting to Host, this System does not possess any item capable of increasing the probability of acquiring the Tsunami Wave Orb’s special ability.]

The System paused briefly before continuing.

[Even if this System possessed such an item, it would still be meaningless for the Host.]

[Whether the probability is 50%, 70%, or even 100%, the result for the Host would remain exactly the same.]

[The Host’s luck has already exceeded the lower limit of this System’s probability calculation.]

[Probability does not apply to the Host.]

[Recommendation: Please refrain from challenging probability-related events unless absolutely necessary.]

Vikram’s face instantly darkened.

"..."

"System, are you mocking me?"

The System completely ignored his question as if it hadn’t heard him.

Instead, it continued speaking in its usual emotionless mechanical tone.

[However, based on the Host’s current environment, the probability of obtaining the special ability can be increased by using a Luck Orb.]

[A Luck Orb temporarily increases the success rate of probability-based items and ability awakenings.]

[However...]

[Even with the assistance of a Luck Orb, this System cannot guarantee that the Host will acquire the Tsunami Wave Orb’s special ability.]

[According to the System’s evaluation, the Host’s probability of failing remains... exceptionally high.]

"Why can’t I get the ability even with a one hundred percent chance?" Vikram asked the System again.

However, the System fell silent once more.

It didn’t reply to him at all.

Seeing that the System was deliberately ignoring him, Vikram gritted his teeth but didn’t say anything else.

Instead, he decided that he would give the orb to one of his wives instead.

Hearing about the Luck Orb, another thought also appeared in his mind.

"Luck Orb..."

Vikram repeated the name inwardly.

Speaking of which, several kinds of these special ability orbs had already appeared.

Naturally, Vikram was happy to learn that there was a way to increase the probability of obtaining an ability.

"It’s just... where can I find a Luck Orb now?"

At the moment, all Vikram could do was continue killing zombies or visit the Underground Zombie Lair a few more times.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up.

"That’s right."

"Since Crimson Desire Shelter can put so many treasures up for auction, they must have countless connections."

"Might as well ask."

Calling up the chat interface, Vikram found that Lilith had already sent him several messages after he had left her room.

[Lilith: Vikram, why did you leave in such a hurry? After enjoying me, you left without even saying goodbye.]

[Lilith: Welcome to Crimson Desire Shelter again next time, Vikram. I’ll be waiting for you here~ ❤️]

Looking at the coquettish tone of the messages, Vikram couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

He felt pleased because Lilith still wanted to spend time with him.

At the same time, he also felt a little guilty for leaving without even saying goodbye.

Without hesitation, he replied.

[Vikram: Sorry... something urgent came up at my Territory, so I had to leave immediately. I didn’t even have time to say goodbye.]

The reply came almost instantly.

[Lilith: Hmph! I thought you had forgotten about me already.]

[Lilith: Do you know how disappointed I was when I woke up and found you gone?]

Vikram rubbed his nose awkwardly.

[Vikram: I really am sorry. I’ll make it up to you next time.]

Seeing those words, the smile on Lilith’s face instantly became much brighter.

[Lilith: Really? Then I’ll remember those words. Don’t you dare run away again.]

[Lilith: Otherwise... next time I’ll lock you in my room for an entire day.]

Looking at the message, Vikram could almost picture Lilith’s teasing smile.

After chatting for a while, Vikram finally brought up the real reason he had contacted her.

[Vikram: By the way, can you help me keep an eye out for something?]

[Lilith: Hmm? What is it?]

[Vikram: A Luck Orb. If your Shelter gets one, or you hear any news about it, let me know immediately. The price isn’t a problem.]

After a brief pause, Lilith replied.

[Lilith: Luck Orb... I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.]

[Lilith: But don’t worry. I’ll ask around through Crimson Desire Shelter’s channels. If one appears anywhere nearby, I’ll notify you immediately.]

[Vikram: Thank you.]

[Lilith: Don’t just thank me with words. Next time you come here... stay a little longer with me.]

Vikram smiled helplessly.

[Vikram: Alright. It’s a promise.]

Only then did Lilith happily end the conversation.

As for whether a Luck Orb could actually be found...

That was no longer something Vikram could control.
