Chapter 861 - 862 – Grey – Part 10.

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN 'BENEFACTOR' IS ALSO INVOLVED?!" – shouted Tail as the two dragons didn't let the two players even talks amongst each other and started unleashing their breath attacks, blowing up a huge part of the underground.

"Tch! Bastards!" – said LM as he and Tail avoided the direct contact with attack, but still took some damage.

"EXPLAIN! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" – shouted Tail as he unleashed his shadow magic, binding the two dragons in place.

"I saw a footage! That wanted traitor witch was meeting with the dragon emperor when the war was officially declared!" – replied LM.

"I saw their conversation myself! THEY ARE WORKING WITH EACH OTHER!"

(You got to be fucking kidding me!) – thought alarmed Tail.

("Benefactor"?! With all the bullshit we are already dealing with, now we also have to deal with HIM?!)

(WHY?! THINGS WERE ALREADY SHITTY ENOUGH!) – thought Tail as the dragons broke free from the shadow bindings.

"Tch!" – before they could fire their attacks, Tail made his move first and unleashed a barrage of shadows, forcing the two dragons on the defense.

"What about Oron?! Did you contacted him?!" – shouted Tail.

"I can't! This part of underground straight up jams communication! Tail must be in the same part of underground since I couldn't contact him!" – replied LM as he started using his bow to provide support to Tail.

"For fuck's sake! Just murder these bastards first and then we talk!" – shouted Tail as the duo of started fighting together against the dragons.

Meanwhile, Oron was also fighting the two dragons… However, this situation was way different.

"AAAAAAAAAAA! MY ARMS!" – shouted the dragon as he lost both of his arms.

"Shit! The hell is going on here?!" – said the second dragon who had lost one of his wings as well as his entire tail.

(Who the hell are we fighting?!) – thought the dragon as he was forced to defend himself with barriers, defending himself against the hail of projectiles… Which it couldn't protect itself fully as several bolts pierced through, landing several strikes on the dragon.

(We are the royal family of the Kai'ku'dan clan! Elites above elites!)

(So yet! Wh-)

In the next moment, Oron fired his shot, which pierced right through the head of the panicking dragon, before then flying out of it and piercing the head of the heavily injured dragon, which resulted in it also getting pierced through and then fallowed up with the massive crossbow bolt striking the wall.

And right after that, both dragons fell down dead.

"…"

(They were definitely way stronger.) – thought Oron.

(Still, the fact that they had sent here somebody as strong as them straight up proves their desperation.)

"…"

"Still, I don't think their only aim was me." – said Oron as he saw the pure destruction around him.

"Fuck. I can't use the train tracks here for shit." – said Oron as he started running while also taking out potion to drink.

(But I don't get still one thing.) – thought Oron.

(Why are they splitting their forces like that? Especially with them sending out the weakest ones being on the very start?)

(I would get it if it was your average dungeon or RPG game.)

(But it ain't it!)

(…The only reason I can think of that their stage of preparation isn't finished just yet and they went down underground sometime before we broke in into the castle.)

(Meaning, we are right at their tails!)

After sometime, Tail and SM also managed to deal with their own foes.

However, their fight didn't took them way longer compare to Oron, thanks to both of them using some of their one-use buff items, giving them power up.

Afterwords, the two players just like Oron had began running while drinking their potions.

"Still no contact?" – asked Tail as the duo ran on the destroyed tracks.

"No. I can't even contact the queen either." – replied LM.

"Still, I did gave them heads up about us possible entering the zone with jammers being deployed."

"What about the outside?" – asked Tail.

"Well, it looks way better than I've thought." – replied LM.

"It turns out that the consol there was not only in charge of the Kai city, but also the other two cities."

"I've managed to take over the surface level defenses and use them against grey monsters."

"This did gave our allies some room to breathe, but from what I've through cameras, I saw new grey monsters appearing."

"It seems the rain and the mist didn't just happened here, but across the entire territory, just like how it happened with the two of the victim clans."

"There is also the question of these two monster turned clans."

"So far they weren't here, but if they don't hurry, there is a still chance that they may appear in time." – said LM as he was still not aware of the Wo'won clan's leader betraying the alliance and not telling them that the two monster armies aimed for their homes instead of supporting the traitor clan.

"Tch. So, speed and luck? For fuck's sake." – said Tail.

"It ain't all!" – said LM.

"From that conversation between that moon elf and the dragon king, I've heard something interesting."

"These grey monsters are called deformed nephalems."

"Nephalems? You mean those hybrids between angels and demons?" – asked Tail.

"Yeah. It makes sense considering that Oron could sense both demonic and holy power from these grey monsters." – replied LM.

"But this isn't all. These monsters seems to have a limited lifespan."

"…That is good and all, but they are only meant to buy time… Meaning our allies cannot just wait out until they die-"

"?" – Tail stopped speaking as he noticed something odd.

(Wait… Limited lifespan?) – thought Tail.

(How much time are we talking about?)

(Considering that they only turned their own citizens into monsters after the three armies arrived, it would suggest that they have really lifespan.)

(If they had somewhat long lifespan, they could turn all the clan members into monsters and then bring them all outside instead of being forced to have them pour bit by bit from the city.)

(That would give them much better advantage.)

(I guess these two dragons were trying to set up the defenses and activate them… No, it still doesn't make sense then.)

(They were busy with eliminating the castle servants and setting up the barrier.)

(That means they couldn't activate the defenses, because when the grey monsters were being created, the castle was being purged by the royal family.)

(Because we appeared when they didn't expected it, we were able to stop from activating the entire city defenses and turning them against the alliance.)

(THEY DIDN'T HAD TIME!)

(THAT MEANS THOSE FUCKERS REALLY HAVE EXTREMLY SHORT LIFESPAN!)

(But… If that is the case, then why sent the two armies of the monsters after the alliance with delay? Shouldn't they had ordered them to move INSTANTLY? It didn't took the alliance's armies to arrive here quickly!)

(If my calcination are right, the moment these monsters would finally catch up after us, they would either reach their time limit or be close to be reaching it.)

(So… Why did they sent them after us?)

(A mind game?)

(But still, if they really have a short lifespan, then this kind of midgame move would be straight up stupid!)

(If the alliance is still fighting, that means the monsters are still going strong for hours!)

"Fuck! It doesn't make sense! Their move regarding using the two clans as reinforcement!" – said Tail.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" – asked alarmed LM.

"The two clans they had slaughtered and turned into monsters!" – replied Tail.

"Their strategy doesn't make sense right now! Mind game or just reinforcement, it doesn't make sense for them to… Sent them… Here."

(They know about the lifespan problem being short.) – thought Tail.

(So, they should know about sending these monster here would never work.)

(That means they would have to use these monsters in different way.)

(The enemy goal was time.)

(They want to have as much time as possible in order to finish their plan and fulfil their victory condition.)

"There was one good way where they could obtain enough time, fully knowing the fact that we didn't knew about the time limit." – said terrified Tail.

"They wouldn't sent the monsters after us, but instead at the something else." – said Tail as he and LM suddenly stopped in tracks.

"What are you talking about? Didn't queen of the Wo'won clan told us that they are coming here?" – asked alarmed LM.

"Yes. She told us that." – replied Tail.

"But there is no way the enemy made that kind of move if their expendable monsters are truly short lived."

"However, there is still a way for them to force us to fight them."

"They wouldn't attack the main army and instead attack the alliance's members' homes."

"A completely undefeated homes."

"So wait… You telling me that they misplayed?" – asked confused LM.

"No! It's other way around! There is no way they fucking did!" – shouted Tail.

"There was only SINGLE play they could do in that situation, no matter what!"

"And that is to attack the dragon clans' homes!"

"The one that told us about the situation was the dragon queen with the help of her special information network."

"Meaning SHE had the information, nobody else."

"And if that is the case, then how can we be fully aware that is telling the truth?"

"She lied to everybody."

"The monsters were never going to support the Kai'ku'dan clan here."

"And as of right now, these monsters must be rampaging in the homes of the alliance's members."
