Chapter 627 - 626 – Ice dragon clan’s civil war – Part 2.

"Are the preparations going smoothly?" – asked one of the ragged hood wearing figure with distorted voice.

"Almost." – said the figure B.

"We still haven't planted the summoning circles inside of the castle."

"The second princess increased the security there. Maybe she wants to protect the divine flesh."

"Confront?" – asked figure C.

"No. Can't." – replied figure A.

"Still, she will be forced to leave soon. The war will force her."

"Wait."

(Who the fuck are these guys?) – thought Thanatos who was observing the group from the safe distance in her shadows and using her [Shadow Murder: Shadow Spy] to hear and see things from afar, with the help of the unknown group's shadow which acted like anchor for the skill.

(Did the ice dragons created yet another enemy beside us?)

(We… No wait, that is correct!)

(The traitor clans could be their new enemies!)

(But why exactly?) – thought Thanatos as she started asking herself series of questions about what could had been a possible reason for these people to be here.

[A – They want to exterminate the entire ice dragon clan.]

[B – They want to steel or destroy the flesh that is stored in the castle.]

[C – They want to do both extermination and securing/destroying the flesh.]

(They said "summoning circles"… Do they mean monster summoning circles or teleportation type?)

("Castle" and "Almost"… Did they planted several summoning circles across the nest? But still couldn't inside of the castle?)

(… They definitely planning extermination and they probably want the flesh too! Be it destroyed or captured… No.)

(They want to capture it in order to make sure no evidence is left behind.) – thought Thanatos as from afar she spotted something.

A gate of the castle opening up and the dragon princess in her true form flying out of it.

"She left. Move." – said the figure A as the princess couldn't stay still in the castle anymore as she flew out of it to join the civil war.

The figures seeing this as opportunity began slowly moving towards the castle… But the moment they did, Thanatos popped up from the shadows and swung her scythe, decapitating instantly two out of 7 figures instantly.

Thanatos instantly went for the fallow up attack as the heads of each of the figures were turning around… But again, Thanatos struck, cutting in vertically half one of the figures right on the spot.

When the figures finally turned their heads around, Thanatos yet another rush ended up cutting another figure, this time horizontally.

Thanatos tried going again, but the figures counter attacked, using the bandages that covered their bodies as projectiles.

However, that wasn't enough to faze Thanatos as she swung her scythe, unleashing [Deadly Coating: Devil's Suffering], unleashing a claw of acid from the claw that destroyed all of the projectiles instantly.

After that, Thanatos unleashed yet another poison type skill, firing of a massive slash of poison that split apart into smaller projectiles and went after each of the figures, landing a critical blow on every single one of them.

Thanatos tried to unleashing an AOE attack next… But-

"?!" – she was grabbed by her leg by something.

It was the hooded figure who got cut horizontally was still alive, despise missing half of its body.

Even though it should be dead, it still launched at Thanatos and grabbed her leg, before attempting to cover her leg with its own bandages.

However, Thanatos quickly used her pike at the bottom end of her scythe to stab the figure right through their head and finish them off.

"!" – but Thanatos realized that the figure she just killed only wanted to buy time, as the other figures instantly splinted up, trying to get caught.

"!?" – however, to the surprise to the figures, they ended up each encountering Thanatos.

Thanatos created before hand a copies of her that were waiting in the shadows to ambush anybody trying to flee.

The figures had no choice but to fight them… But Thanatos just wanted to delay them, as she used her speed boosting skills to catch up to one of the figures, quickly cutting them vertically.

Right after, she used [Crimson Magic: Deadly Chase], using a blood magic to boost her speed to the extremely high level and once again cut in half yet another figure in vertical way.

The last figure realized the danger, but it was too late for him too, as Thanatos instantly grabbed him by the throat and smashed him against the ice wall.

"I'm going to ask you this once." – said Thanatos.

"Who are you?"

*Crunch*

"?!" – Thanatos instantly grabbed the figure's bandages that covered its face and just yanked them, ripping them apart and revealing a face underneath.

It was… "Human"? Thanatos couldn't tell if they were male or female, since their face was completely covered in scars and they even lacked checks and eyelids.

However, Thanatos wasn't given any time to inspect what they were, since the figure had just shattered something between it teethes.

A gem.

"What did you do?!" – said Thanatos as she slammed the figure once again the ice wall… Only for the figure to remain completely emotionless… And in the next moment, a black liquid started pouring out from the figure's eyes and mouth, alarming Thanatos as she backed.

The moment she backed away, she watched as the figure's whole body began melting alongside its cloths and bandages, leaving only a black puddle, which already started disappearing altogether.

Thanatos tried to process what was happening… But before she could had done it, she noticed an explosion in a distance, before then another and then few more.

(The hell was that?!) – thought Thanatos as she then saw a yellow light near her location, before spotting explosion.

"…"

(I don't think that was either ice or necromancy right now!)

(THE HELL WAS THAT?!)

(Did the traitors already began launching their own attack now?!) – thought Thanatos as she started running, only to moments later look back towards the figures, realizing that all of the figures she has killed had also turned into the black liquid and started disappearing altogether.

[Option A – Look for other possible unknown figures.]

[Option B – Check what is the source of new mysterious explosions.]

[Option C – Rush to the hidden space and guard the flesh.]

(Fuck… What the hell do I do?!)

Thanatos was in rough spot.

The current situation changed instantly right in front of her face.

New enemies appeared and something was happening right now across the nest.

The enemy goal wasn't just extermination; it was also something to do with the flesh.

(I really didn't wanted to come down to use, but I think I will have to use [Winter Flower] to trap these berserkers!) – thought princess Assinia as when she was heading towards one of the biggest battles taking place in the nest, a yellow explosion occurred, catching the dragoness off guard.

"What the hell now?!" – said the dragoness as when she looked down, she noticed both evolution faction and purity faction soldiers were struck by the explosion.

"Shit! What the hell this maniacs used this time?!" – shouted the lizardman of the purity faction.

"WE?! It wasn't us! It was you!" – shouted the pissed off lizardman soldier of the evolution faction as both sides were ready to fight each other once again… Until-

An extremely loud and powerful roar shook the battlefield and all of the soldiers, causing all them to look towards the place where explosion occurred, before then noticing some kind of large creature that emerged from the spoke caused by the explosion.

The figure inside of the smoke spread its wings around, removing the all of the dust cloud around them.

"What?" – said the dragonewt soldier in fear as he finally saw the creature.

"Arcane… Dragon?!"

The culprit was a massive golden colored dragon which had something like a green veins, pulsing throughout its entire body.

"But… How…" – several soldiers stared dumbfounded.

The dragon that was right in front of them was arcane dragon.

A dragon that shouldn't exist anymore, since the arcane dragon tribe was GONE!

And yet, a dragon from the clan that shouldn't exist was standing right in front of them.

But something was clearly wrong with it.

It was growling and leaking saliva from its mouth like a total animal.

And its eyes? They were made to say the least.

Nobody there could see any reason behind those eyes… As if it mindless.

(How… No! That can't be right!) – thought princess Assinia as she was sweating from pure fear as soon as she saw the dragon.
