It was none other than Fate. The boy was walking, and behind him was a substantially large group of candidates, both male and female. His usual smile hung on his face, along with the friendly air he exudes passively toward anyone who sees him or talks to him.

However, Venera frowned as she quickly hid away from their view before they could see her. She clenched her teeth as she leaned against the wall.

’Great, of all the people I could’ve seen here, it had to be him.’ She sighed as she peeked from around the wall. ’The fact that he already has that many candidates following him, even though it has barely been an hour since the test started.’

Even if she hated that person, Venera could only admire how easily he was able to manipulate people into doing what he wanted. The looks on the candidates’ faces told her more than enough about what could’ve happened.

’He probably promised them high spots and guaranteed success.’ She mused as she watched them pass through the wall. None of the candidates appeared particularly interesting. They all seemed mediocre and underwhelming, which made Venera understand why Fate went for them.

He needed those who were weak and afraid while also desperate for success to just use to his own advantage.

’Are they going to pass?’ Venera thought to herself as she watched them carefully. The group seemed a bit in a rush as they looked left and right.

However, much to her bad luck, they stopped in the middle of the road as Fate turned around and looked at one particular boy in his group. His eyes were calm and serene as he spoke.

"Finding the person who took your badge will be the easy part; getting it back will be the hard part. You said he’s strong, right?"

The boy being talked to nodded. "Y-Yes. I couldn’t fight him at all!"

"Yeah, he sounds pretty dangerous. But don’t worry, I’m sure that with the description you gave me, we will find him. For now, we will keep scouting the area and search for any clues. Most likely, you’re not the only person he took badges from."

’They’re searching for someone, huh? I didn’t expect him to put so much effort into helping a random candidate. Finding someone specific amongst millions and millions of people doesn’t sound very easy. What are you planning, Fate?’

The group then turned around and continued walking as if nothing happened. Eventually, they disappeared into the distance. After making sure it was safe, Venera left her hiding spot and looked at the path they took. Her eyes squinted subtly before she turned and walked the opposite way.

’I hope I won’t need to see him again.’ She thought to herself. ’But to know that he is planning something is quite useful. Whatever it is, it won’t be good.’

A devout group of followers in a test of this nature sounded quite dangerous. Fate wasn’t a kind person to be helping others. If anything, this was definitely something that would eventually benefit him and only him.

However, at the same time, this was another sign that Venera needed a lot more badges. She can’t just slow down or take time. She needed to get more and more badges until she was truly the number 1 in this entire place.

So, with that in mind, she started running. Time was ticking down rapidly, and the outcome could very well be in her favor... or completely against her.

As the battles ensued everywhere across the dome and as the situation grew more extreme, suddenly, a voice echoed in the place, that stopped the test for a moment.

The voices kept echoing again and again as the candidates stopped fighting and listened with confused looks.

Venera stopped in her tracks and looked up. Her expression didn’t change much upon hearing that. However, it was still such an intriguing outcome.

"Someone died?" Venera muttered. "Well, that was bound to happen. People don’t know how to hold themselves back."

She could see how some of them forgot about the rules of the test and followed their instincts like rabid monsters. However, at the same time, hearing that someone died made Venera’s heart grow cold.

Her first thought was the image of a particular boy.

’No, it can’t be Rize. The chances of that are astronomically low, and besides, Rize is extremely strong. There aren’t many people who could even put him in a bad situation here, let alone kill him.’ She thought as she shook her head, almost as if she was trying to argue with herself. Yet, even with that logic, Venera couldn’t help but feel unease creep into her heart, and she hated it.

’Rize will be fine; what I need to do is find a path to the easiest place to harvest badges.’ She thought to herself as she looked up. Her main target points were the places with the most people. However, at the same time, she didn’t want to join the fray in the heart of the city, as that would be a hassle.

Instead, she needed a place where there were many people but also not too many people. That seemed tricky considering the size of this place. However, it didn’t take long for Venera’s eyes to lock onto a particular place.

It was one of the standout buildings in the entire city. A massive skyscraper that stood tall above everything else. Even from this distance, she could see that countless people had taken shelter in that place.

’Good enough.’ With that in mind, Venera dashed toward her next target. On the way there, she came across a good number of candidates, and the outcomes were simply even more badges for her.

The closer she got to the building, the more candidates she came across. Many of them were simply lost souls who couldn’t find their own badges, but there were also those who simply thought they could bite off more than they could chew.

Eventually, Venera found herself facing the building with many candidates rushing in and out. The situation inside was an entire mess. The sound of tables breaking, screams, and all other kinds of noises filled her ears.

’People do really think alike. I wonder why they even went here in the first place.’ She thought to herself as she looked around. There was no trace of Rize anywhere, so she assumed he wasn’t there.

"Hey, you, little lady. I’m gonna need you to hand over all your badges before I get rough with ya!"

As she stood there, a large guy approached her with a rough look on his face. He glared down at her. However, Venera didn’t even look at him as she locked onto the building.

"I said hand your badges, girl!!!" He yelled as he tried to grab her by the shoulder.

The outcome... was not pretty.
