Chapter 362: Chapter: 361 Julius.

The next morning, Julius found himself thinking about what he had witnessed the previous night.

He had already noticed that Ian was becoming attached to Destiny without even realizing what those feelings truly meant, and perhaps his inability to understand them was part of the reason he had drunk so much.

He had consumed far more rice wine than usual, almost to the point of passing out, until Destiny eventually dragged him back to the bed.

None of that was particularly surprising, but what Destiny had said afterward, and the affection she had shown toward the sleeping Ian, had been something Julius genuinely hadn’t expected.

In fact, it had surprised him even more than the conversation they had shared a few days earlier about the universe.

That conversation had certainly been difficult for him to accept at first, but eventually he had managed to make some sense of it.

Earth itself had countless stories about infinite universes, and many mythologies believed that their own universe was only one among countless others, so while the reality of it had been astonishing, it wasn’t something Julius had found completely impossible to comprehend.

What he had witnessed last night, however, was different. Destiny had been so openly affectionate toward Ian while he was asleep that Julius had found himself struggling to reconcile that woman with the distant and incomprehensible goddess he knew.

The more Julius thought about it, however, the more he realized that perhaps it shouldn’t have been surprising at all.

Destiny possessed the All-Seeing Eyes, and Julius knew those eyes better than almost anyone because he possessed them himself.

His own eyes granted him the ability to observe the future, although his current capabilities were nowhere near Destiny’s level.

At his present stage, he could only observe roughly an hour into the future, and even then, what he saw was not necessarily fixed because his own actions could alter the events he had witnessed.

His limited mana pool also placed considerable restrictions on how long and how deeply he could use the ability. Still, Julius understood the potential hidden within those eyes.

Once he reached the Infinite Core and his All-Seeing Eyes evolved to their final stage, their true capabilities would be far beyond what they were now.

They weren’t called the All-Seeing Eyes simply because they could observe the future.

They could eventually perceive anything, including the past, and if his understanding was correct, Destiny had already reached a level where the boundaries between past, present, and future meant almost nothing to her.

That thought led Julius to another conclusion. Destiny must have already seen what was going to happen.

According to what the Zlycons believed, the goddess had given birth to their ancestor, the individual from whom their entire race had eventually originated.

If Destiny truly possessed the level of foresight Julius imagined, then she must have seen that future long before it happened.

Perhaps that was why she called it her destiny.

Maybe living with Ian during the final years of his life had always been something she had known would happen, and perhaps giving birth to the man who would eventually create an entirely new race called the Zlycons was also part of that future.

The more Julius thought about it, the more the pieces seemed to fit together. Destiny hadn’t simply wandered into this village and accidentally fallen into a mortal lifestyle.

She had already known where this path would eventually lead, and perhaps that was why she could accept everything so calmly.

Yet yesterday’s conversation had still surprised him. Watching Destiny gently stroke Ian’s hair, speaking to him while he slept, and admitting that she wished their mortal life could last forever had made Julius realize that her decision to live as a mortal might not have been merely an excuse to experience something different.

There was genuine affection behind it. Perhaps she had chosen this life precisely because she already knew how precious these final years with Ian would become.

For someone like Destiny, whose existence stretched far beyond the lifespan of ordinary humans, seventy years should have meant almost nothing.

Yet she had spoken as though those seventy years were frighteningly short, and that contradiction had stayed in Julius’s mind long after the vision continued.

Eventually, he reached the conclusion that perhaps he had been looking at the situation from the wrong perspective.

Destiny wasn’t pretending to be a mortal simply because she wanted to experience what humans experienced.

She genuinely wanted to live this life, even if she knew exactly how temporary it would be.

That was why Julius decided not to follow Ian the next morning. Instead of continuing to observe him as he slowly became aware of his feelings, Julius remained behind and watched Destiny.

She woke before sunrise, took a bath, and strolled through the quiet village before returning home to prepare breakfast and lunch.

She fed Ian, watched him leave for work, and then continued with her own responsibilities without complaint. Julius couldn’t help but find it strange.

She was a goddess, an existence that stood far beyond the ordinary people living in this village, yet she worked from morning until evening as though she were simply another hardworking village woman.

She cooked for Ian, cleaned their home, taught the children, bought a calf at what appeared to be a good price, and even spent the afternoon completing various chores around the village to earn money and contribute to the life they were building together.

There was something almost absurd about watching an existence as powerful as Destiny spend her day worrying about food, livestock, lessons, household chores, and the countless small responsibilities that made up ordinary life.

Yet at the same time, Julius found it strangely impressive. She wasn’t doing any of this because she had to.

She could have abandoned the village at any moment, lifted the seal restricting her powers, and returned to the existence she had known for countless years.

Instead, she willingly chose to remain here and live like an ordinary wife.

Eventually, the day began to draw toward its end. The sun slowly descended from the sky, bathing the village in the warm light of evening, and after completing everything she needed to do, Destiny finally returned to her house.

Julius followed her as he usually did, remaining nearby as she entered the small home.

He had spent the entire day observing her ordinary routine, yet he still couldn’t completely understand what he was seeing.

There was nothing particularly extraordinary about the things she had done, but perhaps that was exactly what made it difficult for him to understand.

Destiny, who could probably accomplish almost anything with a thought, had spent the entire day doing things that ordinary humans considered tiring and mundane.

Julius eventually sat quietly in the courtyard as Destiny disappeared inside the house, and for a while, he simply waited.

A short time later, she walked back outside carrying a bottle of water. She opened it and took several large gulps, seemingly refreshing herself after the long day before lowering the bottle from her lips.

Then Julius noticed something change.

The color of Destiny’s eyes slowly returned to their natural shades, revealing one golden eye and one red eye.

The transformation was subtle but unmistakable, and Julius watched it happen with quiet curiosity.

Destiny casually threw the bottle toward the corner of the courtyard, but instead of turning away or returning inside, she suddenly lifted her head and looked directly toward him.

Julius froze.

For a moment, he wondered if she had seen something behind him.

He instinctively turned his head and looked over his shoulder, scanning the courtyard and the area beyond it as though there might be someone standing there whom Destiny had noticed.

But there was no one. When he turned back toward her, Destiny was still looking in exactly the same direction.

At him.

A strange feeling slowly crawled up Julius’s spine.

He had spent the entire day observing her, carefully remaining at a distance because he had assumed that she couldn’t perceive him.

Even with her All-Seeing Eyes, he had somehow convinced himself that the vision’s nature would prevent her from noticing him directly.

Yet now, as those mismatched eyes remained fixed upon him, that assumption began to crumble.

Then Destiny spoke.

"Today, you didn’t follow him, did you? Did you want to see what I do in my free time..."

She paused for a moment, her gaze remaining fixed on Julius as though there were no distance between them at all.

"Julius?"
