Chapter 361: Chapter: 360 Destiny’s routine.
The next morning, Destiny woke up early, even before the sun could rise above the horizon and cast its first light over the village.
The entire settlement was still wrapped in the quietness of dawn, with most of the villagers yet to leave their homes and only the occasional sound of birds breaking the silence.
After waking up, Destiny took a bath and then strolled through the village for a few minutes, enjoying the cool air before returning home as the first rays of sunlight finally began to fall upon the earth.
Once she entered the house, she walked into the kitchen and started preparing breakfast and lunch.
For breakfast, she decided to keep things simple and prepared some bread and eggs, placing everything neatly on the table once she was finished.
Afterward, she briefly considered waking Ian so that he could return to the mountain and collect herbs as he usually did, but after remembering how much he had drunk the previous night, she decided that it was probably unnecessary to disturb him so early in the morning.
He rarely allowed himself to rest, and considering how exhausted his body must have been after the festival, Destiny thought it would be better to let him sleep a little longer.
Once the breakfast was finished, Destiny turned her attention toward lunch.
After spending several days learning from the village women, she had become surprisingly proficient at preparing the local dishes, and although she had initially struggled with some of the cooking methods, she had quickly adapted.
Today, she decided to prepare some meat. There was a chicken stored in the house, so she took it out and began preparing it while also making a vegetable side dish to accompany it.
Her movements were smooth and practiced now, a considerable improvement from when she had first entered the kitchen and barely understood how the villagers prepared their food.
The aroma of the cooking meat gradually filled the little house, mixing with the smell of the vegetables and making the simple home feel warm and lively despite the quietness of the morning.
While Destiny was still cooking, Ian finally woke up. He washed his face and entered the kitchen, and unlike the previous mornings, he did not throw a tantrum about having to leave for work so early.
Instead, he simply sat down and had breakfast with her. However, there was something slightly strange about him today.
He refused to make eye contact with her, keeping his attention on his food whenever she happened to look in his direction, and every now and then, he would become completely dazed, staring at nothing for several seconds as though his mind had wandered somewhere far away.
Destiny noticed the change almost immediately. She watched him quietly for a moment, wondering what could possibly have happened to him between last night and this morning.
’Hmm? What’s up with him?’ Destiny wondered, but Ian didn’t seem interested in holding a conversation.
He finished his breakfast quietly, picked up the lunch Destiny had prepared for him, and walked out of the house without even making one of his usual faces or complaining about the amount of work waiting for him.
On the way, Ian noticed one of the village men heading toward the fields and quickly caught up with him.
The two began walking together toward the outskirts of the village, their figures gradually becoming smaller as they moved farther away from the house.
Destiny remained standing where she was, watching Ian’s back for a few seconds.
There was a faint hint of confusion in her eyes as she tried to understand his strange behavior, but she didn’t linger on it for long. She had other things to decide and other matters to take care of throughout the day.
Although she could have easily gotten a glimpse of what Ian was thinking by using her powers, she deliberately chose not to do so.
Ever since arriving in the village, Destiny had decided that she would not use her powers unless there was an emergency.
She had come here to experience an ordinary mortal life, and constantly relying on abilities that placed her far beyond ordinary humans would defeat the purpose of that decision.
So instead of looking into Ian’s thoughts, she simply turned around and walked back inside to continue with her work.
After finishing the household chores and cleaning the house, Destiny finally let out a small sigh and looked around at the neatly arranged interior.
There was nothing particularly special about the little house, yet she had slowly become accustomed to every part of it.
The simple furniture, the wooden walls, the kitchen where she prepared their meals and even the small courtyard outside had all gradually become familiar to her.
By then, it was already ten in the morning, so Destiny took another bath and changed into a gray robe.
She tied her long pink hair into a neat bun, making herself look more like the village teacher she had gradually become rather than the incomprehensibly powerful existence she truly was.
Once she was ready, she walked out of the house, locked the door behind her, and began making her way toward the village school.
The children were already waiting for her when she entered. They were of different ages, ranging from seven to fourteen, yet all of them immediately stood up when they saw her and greeted her together.
"Good morning, teacher."
Their voices echoed through the small classroom, and Destiny smiled as she walked toward the front.
She stood before the blackboard that was used to teach them and looked around the classroom, which was filled to the brim with children.
Some of them were sitting attentively with their notebooks already open, while others looked toward her with the impatient excitement of children waiting to find out what they would learn that day.
Destiny placed her things on the table before looking at them one by one.
"Did you do your homework?" she asked, and the children immediately nodded in unison.
One after another, they walked over and submitted their notebooks onto her table, and Destiny began inspecting them carefully.
She went through each notebook, checking their answers and correcting the mistakes she found.
Some of the children had clearly worked hard, while others had made small mistakes that Destiny pointed out so they wouldn’t repeat them later.
By the time she finished inspecting all the notebooks, around thirty minutes had already passed.
"So, students, today we will start your new subject," Destiny said as she looked toward the children.
"You have mastered the basics, so from today onward, you will learn about some basic laws of the world, as well as some harder mathematics."
The children’s eyes immediately lit up, and several of them nodded enthusiastically.
They had already become accustomed to Destiny’s lessons being different from what they had previously learned, and because she always explained things in a way they could understand, even the more difficult subjects had become something they looked forward to.
Destiny turned toward the blackboard and picked up the chalk before beginning to write.
What she was teaching them were some of the basic laws of this world that she had come across throughout her existence, principles that ordinary humans of this era would not properly comprehend until long after this generation had disappeared.
She wasn’t simply teaching them knowledge that belonged to their current age; she was speeding up their understanding by several generations.
Yet Destiny wasn’t afraid that doing so would influence the future too much.
The future she was aware of was already far more complicated than a simple, unchanging chain of events, and she knew that the world would continue to change regardless of what she taught these children.
For now, she simply wanted to give them knowledge that she believed would help them understand the world around them.
The lesson continued for two hours, with Destiny patiently explaining each concept while the children listened and copied what she wrote on the blackboard.
Some struggled with the harder mathematics, occasionally staring at their notebooks with confused expressions, while others quickly understood the principles and eagerly attempted the problems she gave them.
Destiny continued correcting them and explaining their mistakes until she was satisfied that they had at least grasped the fundamentals.
By the time she finally finished the lesson, it was already noon. The sun was high in the sky, and its bright light poured over the village as the children gathered their belongings and ran toward their homes.
Destiny watched them leave before closing the school door behind her and beginning her walk in the opposite direction of her own house.
She was heading toward the house of Rave, the villager who owned the largest livestock farm in the village.
Destiny had been thinking about raising some livestock for a while, and today she had finally decided to buy a calf.
When she arrived at Rave’s house, she spoke with his wife and eventually began negotiating with her.
Destiny’s attention soon settled on a small white calf standing nearby. It was still young and had no mother, as its mother had died from an illness some time ago.
Because of that, the calf was still being taken care of separately, and Destiny immediately saw an opportunity.
It was young enough for her to raise properly, and the fact that it was female made it an even better bargain for the future.
After discussing the matter for a while, Destiny finally looked toward Rave’s wife and said, "Okay, I will give 3 percent of our crops for this calf."
Rave’s wife considered the offer before agreeing, and she eventually handed Destiny the reins attached to the calf.
Destiny thanked her before beginning the walk back toward her house, occasionally stopping along the way to take care of a few more chores.
By the time she finally returned, the sun had already begun its slow descent, and the warm light of afternoon was gradually turning toward evening.
Destiny tied the calf to a tree in the courtyard, making sure it had enough space to move around comfortably before walking into the house.
However, she came back outside almost as quickly as she had entered, this time carrying a bottle of water in her hand.
She opened the lid and took a gulp, then another, and another, allowing herself to enjoy the cool water after spending most of the day moving around the village.
As she continued drinking, the color of her eyes slowly began to change. The ordinary shade she had been using while living among the villagers gradually disappeared, revealing their natural colors beneath the disguise.
One of her eyes became golden, while the other turned red, the two colors appearing strangely striking against her beautiful face. Once she finished drinking, Destiny lowered the bottle and looked toward the courtyard.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
She then threw the water bottle toward the corner of the courtyard before casually looking toward an empty spot nearby. Her expression remained calm, almost playful, but there was a strange certainty in her eyes as she spoke.
"Today, you didn’t follow him, did you? Did you want to see what I do in my free time..."
She paused for a moment, her gaze remaining fixed on the empty space before her.
"Julius?"
