Villainess Rampage: The Whole Sect Begs for Mercy
Chapter 601 - 608: Benefiting the Family
Meanwhile, Song Wanning picked up speed and soon left the vicinity of the monster’s lair.
Riding her Flying Sword, she was constantly trying to communicate with the Three Lives Mirror.
All along, the Three Lives Mirror had been trying to get her to repair the two worlds, but with the current situation, she was completely clueless.
Now, her only option was to seek help from the Three Lives Mirror.
But the Three Lives Mirror remained unresponsive, until finally, it displayed just four words: Go with the flow.
Upon seeing those four words, Song Wanning suddenly calmed down.
She had been rather anxious these past few days, causing her to act with a sense of impatience.
But these were matters that couldn’t be rushed.
The more one rushed, the easier it was to make mistakes. If that led to failure in the end, it would be too late for regrets.
"Three Lives Mirror, my family... will something happen to them?"
Song Wanning’s weakness had never been the prospect of her own death, but her family.
"Your good fortune is profound; it will extend to your family."
The Three Lives Mirror had sensed Song Wanning’s worry and finally offered a piece of advice.
By now, Song Wanning had eliminated many invaders. All of this would transform into her own good fortune and merit, and her family would naturally benefit from it as well.
Therefore, Song Wanning needed to focus on her mission, and her family would naturally have their misfortunes turned into blessings.
Song Wanning, of course, understood the implication, and the weight in her heart was finally lifted.
A faint smile finally appeared on her face, and her flight speed was no longer as frantic as before.
After some thought, Song Wanning decided to report the matter to her Sect first.
This issue had to be taken seriously. Otherwise, when the monsters truly swarmed, it would be the beginning of a catastrophe.
As for her, she now needed to find a place to continue her cultivation.
Only by increasing her strength could she better deal with Gong Ye.
Perhaps slaying Gong Ye would be the moment the two realms merged into one.
A determined glint flashed in Song Wanning’s eyes. Without hesitation, she found a cave and continued her secluded cultivation.
Meanwhile, in the Spirit Realm, a full-scale search for the monsters had begun. Because of the precedent set by the Golden Dragon Clan, everyone was taking it very seriously.
If it was truly an invasion by a large number of monsters, it would endanger everyone’s lives.
Even factions that had once been at odds with each other set aside their grievances and began to cooperate, searching for traces of the monsters together.
However, the results of this massive search effort were less than ideal.
It was as if the monster had vanished, and no trace of it could be found.
Eventually, the factions involved in the search began to complain, believing that the Demon Palace and the Ancient Cold Sect were making a mountain out of a molehill and exaggerating the facts. They had not only wasted their time but had also gotten a good scare for nothing.
Luo Hantian was berated from all sides, his face flushing red with anger. He nearly threw the teacup in his hand.
But he held back, though he couldn’t stop himself from cursing.
"Sect Master, since no one can find anything, that girl Wan Ning must have guessed wrong. We don’t need to dwell on this matter any longer."
"It’s just that these other Sects are being so unpleasant about it. The Ancient Cold Sect was just trying to give them a friendly warning."
"Shouldn’t they be happy that no monsters were found? Why are they blaming us? If there were monsters and we didn’t warn them, wouldn’t they just blame us later for deliberately keeping it from them?"
The elders were also quite furious, feeling that the other Sects didn’t know what was good for them.
A thorough search would put everyone’s mind at ease, wouldn’t it?
Hearing this, Luo Hantian’s anger gradually dissipated, finally giving way to a sigh.
"From what I know of Song Wanning, she would never exaggerate the facts."
"Besides, that monster is cunning and stealthy. Just because our search didn’t find it this time doesn’t mean it isn’t really there..."
He had immense trust in Song Wanning. He knew better than anyone what she had accomplished over the years.
She had no reason to cause trouble for herself.
But clearly, no one was taking the matter seriously anymore.
He felt a headache coming on. After glancing at the elders, he ultimately decided to continue the search.
"How about this: if they won’t handle it, we will."
"Have the disciples continue searching for any trace of the monster. If anything is found, report it immediately!"
He couldn’t control what others did, but at the very least, he had to ensure the Ancient Cold Sect’s territory was free of monsters.
The elders couldn’t refute this and nodded in agreement.
In their hearts, however, they hoped this was just a false alarm. After all, no one wanted monsters to appear and endanger everyone’s lives.
The situation at the Demon Palace was much the same. The Demon King calmly ordered his disciples to continue the search and to use their full power to annihilate any monster they found.
They had all seen the monster and knew the thing was real.
They had to do everything in their power to protect the disciples of the Demon Palace.
...
In the Demon Race Territory, Song Wanning’s avatar was still among the Snake Clan.
She sat in the council hall, listening to everyone discuss the matter of the monsters.
"We’ve searched everywhere but found no trace of any monsters."
"The Demon Clan and the Human Clan are really making a fuss over nothing. A few monsters were enough to scare them witless!"
"Exactly. Forget a few monsters—even a whole swarm of them would be no match for us. What’s there to be afraid of?"
"Let’s just drop the matter here. No need to waste any more of our time."
"We still don’t know Gong Ye’s whereabouts. The priority now is to kill him. Otherwise, with his vindictive nature, we’ll all be in danger!"
The target of their discussion quickly shifted to Gong Ye.
Song Wanning listened in silence.
So far, no one had discovered her disguise among the Snake Clan.
She had long been able to absorb demonic power, leaving no trace of disguise in her aura. Furthermore, Song Wanning’s Divine Soul was powerful enough to rival that of Mahayana cultivators, so not even the Clan Leader could see through her.
She Yi was always by her side, reminding her of things as needed. Now, even the Fox Demon had come to the Snake Clan, staying by her side as a "concubine."
To investigate Gong Ye, her strength alone was no match for the power of the entire Snake Clan.
Now, hearing that the Snake Clan intended to continue searching for Gong Ye, she furrowed her brow slightly.
Gong Ye must have used some method to even block the Three Lives Mirror, making it impossible to locate him.
’This makes things very tricky.’
’Aside from Ye Chuxue, Gong Ye is probably the most difficult invader to kill.’
"Alright, everyone is dismissed. A Jiu, you stay behind!"
The Snake Clan Leader waved his hand at the crowd, keeping only Song Wanning behind.
Song Wanning wasn’t flustered. She waited calmly in the council hall until everyone else had dispersed, and only then did the Clan Leader look at her.
"A Jiu, I have a mission for you."
The Snake Clan Leader wore a serious expression and gestured for Song Wanning to sit before he continued.
"Clan Leader, whatever you need, just give the order. I will do my utmost to accomplish it!"
A satisfied smile appeared on the Snake Clan Leader’s face. He then took out a map and placed it on the tea table in front of him.
"This place here," he asked, pointing to a location on the map. "Do you recognize it?"
