Villainess Breaker: Raising Broken Beauties Against Destiny
Chapter 383: Miona Versus The Angry Wife Committee
Cassandra finally arrived back at the temporary house with Damian, only to find that the others had already returned.
The moment they saw Damian’s terrible condition, everyone’s expression changed.
Linsey jumped out of her seat. "What the hell happened to Master?! How did he end up like this?"
Helena stood as well, her expression sharpening. "Queen, tell us what happened. He was perfectly fine when he left."
Cynthia immediately cut in. "Enough. Arguing right now won’t help him."
She turned toward Cassandra. "I don’t know what happened yet, but put him on the bed first. I’ll examine him."
Cassandra nodded without a word and carefully laid Damian down.
Evelyn and the servants remained silent nearby, but the deep frowns on their faces made their concern obvious.
Cynthia immediately sat beside Damian and placed two fingers against his wrist.
At first, Cynthia’s expression remained calm. But the longer she examined Damian, the deeper her frown became.
Her hand moved from his chest to his abdomen as she carefully checked his meridians, dantian, and every trace of Qi she could find.
By the time she finally pulled her hand away, even Cynthia’s usual composure had cracked.
Linsey couldn’t take the silence anymore. "Cynthia, just tell us! What happened to Master?"
Cynthia stared at Damian for several seconds before speaking, her voice unusually unsteady. "He... Master has become a mortal."
The room instantly went silent.
Helena stepped closer, her expression hardening. "What do you mean, a mortal?"
Cassandra moved forward almost immediately. "Cynthia, are you sure? Are you absolutely sure?"
Cynthia clenched her hands at her sides, visibly struggling to stay composed. "I don’t know. I checked him several times already. His meridians are there, his body is alive, but his Qi..."
She swallowed hard. "There’s nothing. It’s as if every trace of cultivation inside him simply disappeared."
Her eyes lowered toward Damian. "Right now... his body is no different from an ordinary mortal’s."
The moment Cynthia finished speaking, the entire room seemed to crack.
Linsey’s face went pale. "No... no way."
She stumbled closer to the bed, staring at Damian as if refusing to believe what she had just heard.
Helena’s jaw tightened so hard it looked painful.
She moved to Damian’s bedside and stared down at him, fists slowly clenching at her sides. "Who did this?"
Before anyone else could speak, Evelyn moved.
She crossed the room in an instant, grabbed Cassandra by the collar, and pulled her forward.
Her normally cold expression had twisted into barely restrained fury. "What happened?"
Cassandra stiffened.
Evelyn’s grip tightened. "He left with you perfectly fine. Now he comes back with his cultivation completely gone."
Her icy eyes narrowed. "So tell me what happened."
"Evelyn..." Cassandra started.
"Answer me," Evelyn cut in sharply.
The room turned deathly quiet.
Cassandra’s own expression darkened, but instead of pushing Evelyn away, she closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead. "I don’t know the full details either."
Helena’s head snapped toward her. "You were there."
"I know." Cassandra’s voice sharpened as guilt and frustration finally broke through.
She clenched her fists. "I really don’t know exactly what he did to himself."
Linsey looked between them, her voice trembling with anger. "Then start from the beginning. Every single thing that happened."
Cassandra’s expression tightened. "It was supposed to be a spar. But after he started getting pushed back... he took a pill."
Cynthia immediately looked up. "A pill?"
Cassandra nodded. "I don’t know its exact name, but it massively increased his strength for a short time."
Her gaze dropped toward Damian. "And judging from what happened afterward... the price was probably his cultivation."
Cynthia stared at him in disbelief. "What kind of pill has a backlash this severe?"
Linsey clenched her fists. "And why the hell would Master take something like that during a spar?"
Cassandra’s composure finally cracked. "I don’t know!"
The room fell silent.
Cynthia was the first to speak again. "Who was he sparring with?"
Cassandra hesitated for only a moment. "Miona."
That immediately shocked everyone.
Helena’s expression hardened. "Miona? That Miona? How did she push Damian this far?"
Before Cassandra could answer, her eyes suddenly shifted toward the entrance.
She let out a tired sigh. "They’re here. Ask them yourselves."
The moment she said that, the door opened and both sisters, Serina and Miona, stepped inside.
The instant everyone saw Miona, the atmosphere changed.
Helena took one step forward. "You."
Linsey’s eyes narrowed. "What the hell did you do to Master?"
Evelyn’s expression turned even colder. "Explain."
Miona stopped just inside the doorway, her face tightening slightly under the weight of everyone’s anger.
Before she could answer, Serina calmly stepped in front of her. "Everyone, calm down first."
Helena’s jaw tightened. "You expect us to calm down when Damian is lying there like a mortal?"
Serina didn’t flinch. "I understand why you’re angry. But shouting at Miona won’t change anything."
For a moment, the others fell silent.
Partly because of Serina’s tone.
Partly because now that the sisters were this close, everyone could clearly sense just how overwhelming both of them had become.
That alone was enough to make the group pause... but only for a moment.
Linsey immediately pointed toward Damian’s room again. "Then explain."
Serina nodded. "I will."
She glanced toward the room. "But not here."
Her expression softened slightly. "Damian needs rest. Let’s talk outside."
No one argued.
A short while later, everyone gathered behind the house.
Serina explained everything from the beginning, their true identities, the awakening, what had happened inside the ancient palace, and finally the spar between Damian and Miona.
By the time she finished explaining the pill Damian had used, the anger around them had weakened considerably, though the worry remained.
Cynthia crossed her arms, her expression still cold as she looked toward Damian’s room. "So Master willingly took that pill even knowing there would be a backlash."
Miona lowered her gaze slightly. "Yeah."
Cynthia’s eyes sharpened. "Then I just hope Serina was right."
Serina looked at her. "About what?"
Cynthia coldly said, "That Master already has some way to recover."
For a moment, the room stayed tense.
Helena, Linsey, and Evelyn were still staring at Miona with cold, angry eyes, clearly not ready to let the matter go just because Damian had made the choice himself.
Serina smiled faintly. "I believe he does. Damian may be reckless sometimes, but he isn’t the kind of man who destroys himself without leaving another path open."
Cassandra finally relaxed a little at those words.
Serina continued calmly, "So for now, trust him."
Miona folded her arms and looked toward Damian’s room, guilt still visible beneath her annoyed expression. "Yeah... that idiot better wake up soon."
Helena’s eyes narrowed. "He better."
Linsey crossed her arms tightly. "Because when he does, we’re yelling at both of you."
Miona’s face twitched. "Why me too?"
Evelyn answered flatly, "You know why."
