Chapter 585 585. DOMAIN OF SLOWNESS
Noah’s 3m figure unfolded with power and might, and he didn’t hesitate to stretch his hand toward the man before him.
The expert still had his hands folded behind him, but his instincts forced him to move at the sight of his opponent’s incoming attack.
A gathering attack revealed itself before Noah’s palm, light, sparks, wind and essence gathered before him in a violently whirling mass, and the light the combination of those elements generated, shone blindingly. Whilst heat soared in the environment.
The lady who had been initially shocked about the sudden transformation saw that scene and moved to save her life, she bolted out of the chamber and called upon her pet.
Massive cracks opened in the walls of that chamber and the underground systems continued to tremble as a result of the power about to be unleashed.
The veiled man on the other caused tens of spectacular and large magical circles to unfold around him, while one in particular far smaller than the others expanded before him and he placed his right hand into it, only to pull out a shining azure sword inscribed with yellow symbols.
An unfathomable pressure landed on that area due to the appearance of that weapon. It was incredibly close to the fifth tier.
Noah saw this but did not fret, he watched those magical circles discharge huge jets of liquid all capable of seriously damaging a peak tier-4 expert.
But his attack also reached its peak and he let it go.
A violent high-pitched roar-like sound unfolded into the world and that chamber directly began to crumble as a result.
Noah’s multicolored mass remained far smaller than the jets of liquid but it vanquished them as it went for the still-calm man.
“This battlefield is too little for us,” the man commented, raising his blade at the incoming mass.
Suddenly, his aura turned sharp and the azure sword flashed a blinding ray of light after which the expert lowered his weapon in a slanty downward slash.
There was no discharge of power or sound neither did shock waves spread out, yet Noah watched his attack vanish into nothingness, saw a long black mark appear on his skin, and watched a line open in the very terrain around him.
Boulders on the path of that slash suddenly froze in time before splitting in two. And the walls of the already crumbling chamber found a cut silently appearing in their mass stretching for an unknown distance.
The sound of chaos unfolding in the world around reached Noah’s ears whilst he inspected his opponent who remained in position, despite boulders and huge chunks of rocks falling around him.
Noah nodded at that sight, utilizing his consciousness to shatter boulders that fell directly on his figure.
‘That was dangerous,’ Noah commented inwardly, seeing the black mark that spanned from his left shoulder to his right side, vanish.
‘Had I not transformed I would have died,’ he commented. ‘Or at least be close to dying.’
Merely envisioning himself running, Noah vanished from his position to flicker in front of the veiled man.
A kick aimed at his head flew forward; unhindered, for Noah was faster than the illusory protection.
Noah’s feet smashed into the man’s face, crushing bones and all sorts to send the expert shattering walls as he traveled miles in one direction.
Noah sped forward, immediately catching up to his figure.
‘Just how big is this place,’ he wondered, seeing more chambers open up below them whilst they dug through the terrain.
The man tried to act, but Noah reached his figure, grabbed him by his neck, and hurled him in another direction.
But not after discharging a bolt of erratic sparks on his figure.
The result of that attack was a massive explosion of silver sparks that turned walls into nothingness and the whole chamber vanished when that incredible power touched them.
Still, an azure flash of light beamed into the world and that mass of sparks vanished to reveal that the man was okay. At least mostly.
Utter chaos ensued around them even if both individuals were toning down the expression of their power.
A series of illusory hands came out of the man’s body. His clothes barely stood on his body and he prepared to take Noah seriously. He had revealed his special item and his opponent had brushed its attack!
Noah possessed as much power as he claimed to have.
“Are you not worried about the destruction of the world around you, o veiled one?” Noah mocked.
“Against an opponent such as yourself, such concerns are plain stupid,” the men responded rather calmly.
“Hmmβ¦ Let’s see just how strong you are.”
“I was about to say the same,” the veiled one responded and both figures vanished from their locations achieving spectacular but horrendous levels of speed.
Noah was faster, but his opponent could take his blows.
Several explosions shook the underground systems and tens of chambers crumbled whilst utter destruction became too evident.
The upper layers shook too, but Noah and the man moved outside of the range of the city revealing just how immense that underground system was.
It was more than 20 kilometers below the surface level.
Despite the magnitude of the battle that occurred below, the city never experienced a single tremor.
Noah opened his mouth to let out a pillar of silver flames born purely out of speed essence.
The ground around him melted into rivers of boiling orange and blue liquid. Like lava, only with a blue tinge.
In less than ten seconds Noah burnt out every chamber in a radius of about 3 miles.
A deep rumbling occurred as the mass of earth above them came crashing down, losing the pillars of earth that kept it up.
A massive blue river appeared out of thin air to cool the destruction Noah caused, while pillars of liquid also ascended to hold up chunks of the chamber above them.
Noah saw that those immense pillars cooled, turning into ice, filling the world before him with hundreds of such pillars.
It didn’t matter since his golden horns began to release a whirling sound. It multiplied in intensity instants later, then an explosion of golden light barreled out in all directions.
The veiled man watched that light reach and pass his figure faster than he could react, and a strange fear gripped his chest, tightening it so much so that he felt pain and held onto his chest with his left hand.
The man coughed a mouthful of blood and felt his vision turn dizzy.
He raised his head only to find an innumerable amount of golden symbols serving as a barrier of sorts where that golden influence existed.
He saw Noah’s shining figure in the distance as a certain staleness yet vibrancy filled the world around him, but he felt weak.
“This is stronger than I envisioned,” Noah’s voice rang out right before the man’s face. His back was still arced since he recovered from the intense pain.
Panicking, he swung his blade frantically as trepidation grew in his chest.
However, to the expert’s boundless astonishment, he realized that Noah was still far away.
He knew this because his opponent’s horns continued to radiate an intense golden radiance in the distance. That light felt oppressive.
‘An illusion?’ He asked himself but dismissed that idea. Narrowing his eyes he realized that his vision got blurry making that distance a chore to see.
“Was that surprising?” Noah’s voice sounded behind him, and he swung his blade with all his strength, even if it only struck air.
“What is the meaning of this?!” The man yelled, wanting to sprint forward when five figures abruptly appeared around him. All Noah’s 3m tall frame.
He waved his blade at those figures and watched them vanish like mist, but that didn’t satisfy him.
The man shot forward but to his amazement, he barely moved from his position as though a force kept him in place.
“Let’s end this. This technique is draining,” Noah’s voice resounded from all around him.
“Stunned?” Hundreds of the 3m tall frame appeared round about his opponent.
“This is a technique you know of as it’s similar to many others, only that its functions are quite different.” The hundreds of mirages spoke at the same time, their voices vibrating and generating a truly trauma-inducing scene.
The man tried to move at that point but this time strength left his bones even if he remained completely fine.
“Why can’t I accelerate?” His tone turned low due to unimaginable fatigue.
“Ohβ¦ that would be as a result of my domain. The domain of speed. But unlike what you’d expect, it steals speed from whoever is within its range and gives to me, while my peak speed is multiplied.” πππ€π«ππ‘.ππ€π
“To my opponents, it’s the domain of slowness, but to meβ¦ ultimate acceleration. At the expense of my targets stamina, of course.”
