Chapter 583 583. BASTARD
Noah slammed into the Mecha’s huge chest, he raised his blades again even if a punch landed on his figure sending him shooting into the walls of that place again,
He clicked his tongue whilst he forced his way out of the crater he had dug with his body.
The Mecha struggled to get on its feet during that time, but it did and began to approach him.
Noah only came out of the hole when it arrived before his position.
“Die!” the lady voiced a roar when the Mecha raised its arms and rained a barrage of punches on Noah’s figure.
The expanse continued to tremble and loose chunks of its walls and ceiling began to fall off, even hitting the Mecha even if it remained unfazed.
Seconds passed as tens of blows continued to rain forth on Noah’s figure.
Unfortunately, that would not go on for too long.
To the astonishment of the lady behind the wheels, the Mecha’s right arm suddenly met resistance and to her amazement, she watched Noah stand as his left arm stopped the movement of that arm.
The Mecha’s second arm rushed forward but Noah simply raised his other palm to stop that blow. πΌππΉ.πΌπ«π΄
The ground shattered and incredible cracks ravaged the walls of that place.
“What are you?” The lady asked, even if silver-ness filled her vision.
Noah unleashed a beam of icy particles and the event contained enough force to push the Mecha until its back slammed into the ground shattering it.
Noah stepped forward landing on the damaged ground. He took slow steps towards the figure of the huge Mecha.
He had frozen its head and the lady scrambled to remove that layer of ice from her face. She began to bash the face of the Mecha to achieve that feat, but the process remained too slow.
Suddenly, like the rushing of the wind, a sudden rise in his aura filled the entire expanse and the weight of his presence pushed her Mecha’s figure to the ground.
“Seriously, you should just have given up, this was bound to happen.” Noah stepped past the Mecha’s figure as ice spread from his feet to manifest as arms that locked the Mecha to the ground.
Noah approached the black box, and when he arrived before it he ascended to place his hand on its material.
“During our battle, I’d been seeking ways to actually create a crack on this thing. Seeing as even when you slammed into it you did no damage. It was easy for me to understand that simply raining attacks on it wouldn’t do much.” He started to explain as the lady found out that she could not free herself of her bounds.
“I studied it for many hours and arrived at one conclusion. I really don’t have that type of power… at least not at my base.”
“That bastard sent me to deal damage on a fifth-tier object. I’ll deal with him when I return.” Noah shook his head.
“Wait do you mean a huge tree-like being with green liquid surrounding its domain?” The lady asked and Noah could only arc an eyebrow.
“Yes, I do. He sent me here to steal back mana,” Noah explained and an annoyed shout ensued at that point.
“That son of bitch!” The Mecha trembled violently and Noah heard banging. He believed she punched it from inside.
The Mecha’s chest suddenly exploded as its huge metallic mass fell towards the roof, only for its edges to cut into the ceiling and be embedded in it.
Mist came outside of the chest and the figure of a human revealed herself to his eyes. Noah did not act since he sensed that interesting events were about to occur.
“That bastard lied to you. Whatever it said was a lie,” A white-haired lady revealed herself to his eyes and her features remained stunning, at least to the normal mind it would have. Noah saw her as no more than a simple human.
“Oh?” Noah exclaimed leaving the huge box to approach her figure. She was naked but red clothes manifested out of thin air to cover her nakedness.
“Yes,” she replied through her teeth, ascending. She was at the peak of the fourth tier.
“It told me that Cregar stole its mana and it needed it back,” Noah explained, and the lady froze.
“Well, that’s not exactly a lie, even if he phrased it wrongly… But there’s a good reason!” The lady exclaimed, inspecting Noah’s features now that she was so close to him.
“He told me that the last time Cregar utilized these objects was when a huge event happened. I’m suspecting something important?” Noah explained, and she froze again.
“That is correct… he actually told you the truth, at least not everything.” The lady heaved a sigh, slightly embarrassed. It had been a while since she stood in the presence of another human. Even if Noah did not feel like one. He at least looked like one.
She had been deployed there about 7 years prior, after the last person who guarded the place was moved. She had mostly trained, hoping to reach the fifth tier since she would also be transferred.
She reached the peak of the fourth tier and required a push into the fifth tier. Noah came and showed her she still had a lot to learn. Never in her life had she seen a middle stage wield such power.
It made her desire to return to the upper world explode in intensity. What exactly was the upper world cooking? She wondered.
“Not everything?” Noah stroked his chin.
“Yes… I normally would have just killed you rather than told you, but you’re insanely strong, and that your partner,” the lady sighed again. It had never been recorded that anyone had been able to deal much damage to a guardian. Her reputation would plummet when news reached the higher-ups.
“Go on,” Noah nodded, folding his arms. They could have sorted things out with words. What a waste. Especially when he now had a plan to actually create at least a small crack on the box.
“Well in the beginning, according to what I was told, there are a few beings similar to the one you met, its name is Tervok. Although the others possess other elemental properties,” she started.
“Many years ago, even before I was born, apparently he had been fifth tier expert who reached a state of nigh-death and made contact with one of the pillars, they had allowed him to gain access to incredible amounts of mana from Cregar, but had been told that if Cregar ever needed it, it was required of him to give.”
“Well long story short, it reached the peak of the fifth tier and Cregar demanded a portion which it took. It must have told you Cregar took a huge portion, but that’s a lie. He’s greedy and desires to improve in power!” The lady explained, and Noah managed to connect all the dots.
“The power within this box is pure enough to push it into the sixth tier, after which it would wreak havoc on the lands.”
“Why didn’t it just come here and kill you?” Noah asked, furrowing his brows as possibilities appeared in his head.
“We’ve spoken. We’ve fought a lot in those seven years, and it tried to convince me to steal mana for it. That’s why I put my pet in that pit that leads here. Still, he bypassed him and reached me. Only once though,” She explained.
“He can’t directly attack me since one word and the higher-ups will be here to exterminate him. Which is why he sent you. There’s also an oath that stops him from killing me. He’s weak to my light-based power.”
“Then you can say he believed in me enough to complete the task?” Noah asked.
“Maybe… I’ll have to tell this to the higher-ups,” the lady sighed, feeling glad the both of them could talk things out, but Noah had other interests.
His aura unfolded with vitality and his figure flickered before her, placing both his daggers on her neck whilst hands of ice manifested to hold onto her figure.
“Who are you? And I want you to tell me about your higher-ups. Are they the immortals?” His tone remained calm and his words went straight to the point. The lady’s eyes slowly widened in shock at what was happening, but she dared not move, his daggers would sever her head from her shoulder.
