Chapter 30 30. MEDITATION

A small room appeared in their sight, it was lit with bright blue Mana bulbs, and there were big metal doors on opposite sides of the room, the room was painted white with yellow lines, forming a snake wrapping itself around a sword.

Right in front of them was a reception and behind the reception table were two women, both of them wearing the exact same thing, yellow garment, with a white crest that formed a snake wrapping itself around a sword.

The crest was the same as the guards outside and on the wall.

Walking towards the table the two women greeted, “Good day which room would you like to be sirs” They said in unison, creeping Noah out.

James walked forward and said “Please show us the menu”. At that the lady on the right who looked somewhat In her late twenties, and had blonde hair with grey eyes.

She nodded and opened a drawer bringing out two books, and handed it over to James, who immediately opened it and gave the second to Noah.

Opening the incredibly short book that only had three pages, Noah saw the cost of using a training room, and the type of training rooms available.

There were three major training rooms, which were, the Mana training room for cultivation, Combat training room mainly for martial arts or just weapons training, and Spells training room, which was for testing spells and things like that.

Each training room was divided into two which were for tier 1 and 2, then those two were divided into three, lower stage, middle stage and upper stage.

Their cost also varied, with the cultivation rooms being the priciest, glancing at the charges, Noah decided to try the cultivation room for middle stages since he was almost there.

The price varied according to time, with the maximum time being 12 hours. He decided to go for the 2 hours plan, which would cost him 44 small copper coins.

Giving the book back to the lady, Noah told her what he wanted. They were surprised since it had only been around three seconds since he opened the book, his mind was moving incredibly fast.

Paying the woman, she gave him a card that pulsed with Mana lines, seeing his confusion she explained. “It is to allow you access into the room, there are formations that don’t allow access if you don’t have this card, when your time is up it would release a sound and you will have two minutes to get out, before it attacks you.”

Raising an eyebrow at the new word ‘Formation’, Noah; right there and then decided that he would visit a library, he was really tired of being clueless.

Thanking her with a smile, Noah watched as her face became flustered, pointing at the the door on the right she said in a shy tone “That is the way to your training area”.

Nodding his head and walking towards the door, Noah waved James goodbye who had already chosen his room.

Opening the door, Noah’s eye widened, the Mana density had gone up a level, and he wasn’t even in a room yet!.

Looking at the doors on the left and right Noah saw the name tags on them and continued walking until he saw the one that matched his request.

Stepping in front of the door, Noah watched as inscriptions lit up on the black door, then he held the card that had been given to him, and pointed it at the door, and to his surprise a light flashed on it, scanning the card.

At this point Noah was tired of getting surprised. After a second or so the door opened, and Noah stepped inside, he felt some kind of fluctuation, and it hit him.

The Mana denisty in the room was on a different level entirety, it had taken like three steps up. He could even feel his pores get drunk from it, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath, and he felt like he had been breathing bad air all his life.

Shaking his head at this, Noah inspected the room.

The room was dimly lit with red lights, while there were mats on the ground, he could also see people, though they were incredibly few in number, at the center of the room was a glowing yellow stone around 4fts tall, and it looked like all the mats were facing it.

Walking closer, Noah noticed that no one seemed to sense him, probably due to their meditation.

Choosing a mat very close to the stone, Noah confirmed that the stone was the source of Mana in the room.

Sitting in a cross legged position, Noah looked around, he wasn’t really sure if he could still cultivate, so he decided to check.

[Mana regeneration: (Function 1(Passive): when out of Mana your body constantly absorbs more to refill your pool. This function stops when your Mana pool is filled up.

(Function 2 (Active): Draw Mana from the environment to cultivate your strength and increase your Mana pool. lt can be used without meditation but when only when meditating do you gain understanding.]

Rasing an eyebrow at the division of functions, and the last sentence of function 2, Noah decided to test what it meant, since this wasn’t in the tier 1 description.

Closing his eyes while still sitting cross legged, Noah straightened his back and began to breathe In and out in a rythmic pattern, at first nothing happened but after a while Noah could feel his mind get calm and also began to spin, it was a weird sensation that he couldn’t explain.

His mind explored different things and matter, until it got to the point of his elements and Mana, which were things related to him.

His mind spun faster as it tried to grasp something, for a while it couldn’t, but his mind continued unrelenting, until it hit him.

Information about how to best utilize his elements and mana flowed into his head, he felt like he had been wasteful all his life, the answers and hints to questions he had never asked flowed into his mind.

Mana was a very big subject, it wasn’t just the energy that allowed spells to function or people to do incredible things, it was something grander, but currently all he could grasp was that it was something that had stages and quality, and currently he was using it’s lowest.

His mind tried to find something more, but it seemed that there was a massive wall that he couldn’t break, a wall that restricted him from getting answers that didn’t belong to his current level of strength.

A buzzing sound brought Noah out of his meditation. He opened his eyes in surprise and looked at his surroundings, he could see the few people in the room had stopped their meditation and were staring at him, wondering why he was being stared at, Noah focused on his body.

All around Noah blue colored waves were rushing into his body, he wasn’t sure why, but that phenemenom continued even after he had stopped meditating, he could feel his body get stronger with every second, and then.

BOOOOOMMM!

Mana exploded outwards, sending some people flying backwards, Noah was in wide eyed stupor until a notification or rather a series of notification popped up.

[You have advanced to middle stage of

tier 2]

[You have gained three levels] 𝑜𝘷𝑙.𝘰𝑟𝑔

[You have gained 5 points to all stats]

[You have gained 5 points to all stats]

[You have gained 5 points to all stats]

[You have gained 30 points to distribute]

Shock filled Noah’s mind when he read the messages, he had leveled up thrice, in two hours!, and the explosion was a way to tell the world that he had gotten to a new stage of his realm.

‘This didn’t happen in tier 1’, Noah said in his mind as he stood up, he only had a minute or so before the formation would attack him.

Closing both palm in a ‘Im sorry ‘ position to those that got hit by the explosion, Noah moved out of the room.

He stood inside the hall still recalling what had happened during his meditation. Honestly it felt short, to himself he had only closed his eyes for a few seconds, but outside he had spent two hours.

Remembering his findings about the fact that Mana had stages, and how to use Mana and his elements better, Noah took a deep breath.

“Is it because of the new understanding that I advanced?’, he said in his mind, ‘so this is how people get stronger, INTERESTING’.
