Chapter 31 31.TROUBLE
Walking out of the hall, Noah got into the reception room, seeing the two women greet him, Noah waved back. From the looks of it James had not gotten out yet, so he still had time.
He had ideas in his mind that he wanted to try, his new understanding had made him want to experiment badly, and the only place he could do that without leaving the city, was the spells training room.
Walking over to the reception table, Noah still recalled the prices of using the rooms, paying 30 small copper coins for 2 hours, Noah gave the card back to the woman that had attended to him earlier. Her name was Blessing.
She did something with the card before gaving it back to him.
“That is the way to the training room” Blessings said pointing at the door on the left.
Nodding and walking towards the door, Noah’s mind was running simulations of different ways he could utilize his elements.
Entering a hall similar to the other one, Noah walked until a wide court appeared in his sight.
The court was bright due to the sunlight since the roof was made of glass, though in a dome shape.
Walking into the large hall, Noah saw a few people practicing some spells, from fire balls to jets of water, even earth golem’s, the place had training dummies for target practice, but he wasn’t sure if he would use any of them.
Halting his steps abruptly, Noah decided to try something.
Lightning materialised in front of him, forming what one would call a flat board, then Noah tried to step on it.
Immediately he did that the lightning platform dispersed, though just for a second, he had lost concentration which resulted in his disconnection with the supply of Mana that made the electrical energy, which led to it’s dispersion.
Though he had not found any usefulness for it yet.
Noah imagined himself running at full speed but, rather than on the ground, he was running on platforms made of densely packed lightning.
If he succeeded, It would help him if he wanted to get to higher places, but from the looks of it, that would take him a while to learn and be able to utilize.
Looking around, Noah searched for a place that no one was using, finding a place like that, Noah walked towards it.
Some of those present had their eyes on him since they had seen him use lightning element, but none approached him.
Getting to the place, Noah decided to retry his former idea. Orange coloured lightning flickered into existence as it began to shape itself according to what he wanted.
Noah had always been fascinated by the different colors of lightning in his old world, and he wasn’t sure if his current lightning colour was tied to his speed force, though when he was tier 1 it was red. “I guess I’ll be sure when I reach tier 3” Noah muttered inwardly.
Forming a flat platform, Noah made sure it was as densely packed as possible, he knew that doing so, he was burning Mana, but he didn’t really care much about that.
Placing his right leg on the platform, it held on for a few seconds, during which Noah got excited, and lost concentration which caused it to disperse.
Frowning at his failure, Noah didn’t like it but he knew he was learning from it, and he couldn’t get disappointed so soon since this was only his second try.
Forming a dense platform of lightning, this time around Noah had an idea that could help him.
He imagined the platform to be as solid as a real step, and after a few seconds he put his right leg on it, smiling at the hardness, Noah didn’t let his excitement get to him.
Expanding the dense platform, Noah placed his second leg on it, and it didn’t disperse.
Looking around, Noah could see that all eyes were on him, most people were looking at him with a tinge of jealousy, while some were clapping at his success, Ignoring them all, Noah formed another platform, and climbed it, at this point he was around five feet in the air.
Forming another platform and letting the other disperse, Noah went higher, because of this he couldn’t help but get a little excited, though he didn’t let it get to him.
Creating another one, Noah climbed it.
The trick was to always trust the platform to not disperse, and to keep the imagination of it being hard on, since it was linked to his imagination.
As he was about to create one more platform, Noah noticed a jet of water flying towards his direction, which made him to lose concentration causing the platform disperse .
He fell from around 14 feet in the air, landing without any problem. A fall from that height was nothing, but the person that attacked him was the problem.
Scanning the faces of those In the court, Noah found his attacker.
He was a man around his age, he had short brown hair, and was around 5’8ft tall, and currently he had a smug smile on his face.
Frowning at the disturbance, Noah wanted to wipe the smug smile that had formed on the young man’s face, so he attacked what every man held dearly, his pride.
Straightening his position, Noah opened his mouth to talk, “Is that all you can do, I could take twenty of those without moving a muscle” Noah announced. Shooting a mocking stare at the man in question.
Seeing his smile vanish Noah continued, “Come on, are you going to stand there and cower like a child, aren’t you a man, or are you waiting for your noble dad to fix your problems like you always do.”, Noah remarked, he believed the man was from a noble family due to his demeanor and his training clothes that looked expensive.
This time the man’s face went from no smile, to pure anger. The other men in the court couldn’t help but stare at him to see what his reaction would be, after all everyone would love to see both men fight.
Seeing that he got the desired reaction, Noah decided to seal it with an even more annoying remark.
“I didn’t expect anything less, you nobles are really boring” Noah said faking a yawn and turning his back on the man, as though he was going to continue his training, though Noah let his conciousness expand, and to his surprise it reached a radius of around 25 meters, probably because of his advancement.
As soon as Noah finished his words the man’s face twisted with wrath as he cast spells aiming at Noah.
Three jets of water moving at break neck speed flew towards Noah, who as he had said earlier let everything hit him.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
They hit Noah squarely on his back, or so they thought.
Noah wasn’t about to let a piece of trash get him wet, so he pumped 20 points of Mana into a air barrier that blocked the jets of water at the last second, even at that the shock waves didn’t make him move a muscle.
Everyone in the court gasped at that sight, while Noah moved. 𝘰𝑣𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
He didn’t use his speed force, but his speed was still unholy.
Basically disappearing from everyone’s sight, those present searched frantically for his figure, and when they did find him, they couldn’t help but gasp in surprise again.
There Noah was, right In front of the man, his face just a few inches from him.
Noah stared at the young man with eyes radiating coldness, making the young man fall down butt first, due to both surprise and fear.
Noah didn’t want to fight, since there were too many witnesses, and he was certain that all those currently present, given the right amount of money would definitely act as witnesses against him, and he wasn’t a powerhouse that could do whatever he wanted yet.
Walking back his former position in the large room, Noah noticed everyone followed his movements with their eyes, but he didn’t care, he had made it known that he wasn’t someone they could toy around with.
Getting to his former position, Noah watched as the man stormed out of the court but before he could, Noah inspected him.
[Simon]
[Tier: 2]
[Level: 26]
[Chances of death: 3%]
The guy was truly a weakling , even James had a better chance of killing Noah than Simon.
Just before exiting the court, Simon turned and said In a wrath filled tone “Mark my words you’ll pay for that” he announced leaving the court in a hurry practically running.
Noah couldn’t help but give a light smile at the threat, while saying inwardly, ‘Dayum, I’ve gotten myself Into trouble, again’.
Pushing the matter to the back of his mind Noah continued his training.
He created a platform and continued walking upwards until he could almost touch the glass roof.
Then he came down using the same method. At this point he was good enough to use it in a fight, but before he could be sure he had completely succeeded in the plan he would have to use it while running at Mach 10!.
“That would definintely be harder”, Noah muttered to himself.
When his feet touched the ground, Noah looked upwards, it had only been around half-an-hour since he got here and the sun was still high in the sky, he still had time for something else.
