Chapter 1025: Chapter 624: Battle of Funeral Bell Ranch, Brothers of the Same Coffin

The leading Crowned Mummy bowed slightly and addressed Fang Zhou, "Mighty Undead, I am Tutankhamun. May I have the honor of knowing your name?"

"I am Fang Zhou.

Lord Tutankhamun, what brings you here?" Fang Zhou asked quizzically.

"Lord Fang Zhou, are you an Undead Lord of the Lower Realm?" Tutankhamun inquired.

"That’s correct."

Fang Zhou had been under Hecarim’s command for some time now, and his identity was known to those who paid attention.

Tutankhamun’s expression became much more respectful, and he bowed again before continuing, "We have just arrived at the Wailing Blood Plain to join the battle.

Seeing that you do not have any guards with you, may we serve as your temporary guardians in the upcoming battle?"

Fang Zhou scrutinized the three Crowned Mummies accompanying Tutankhamun.

Including Tutankhamun, these four Crowned Mummies were all Combat Professionals of the Golden Tier, their weaponry and equipment quite ordinary.

They looked like impoverished War Mercenaries conned from somewhere.

Typically, mercenaries such as these would lose at least half their numbers in the first few battles.

Those who survived the fight found their combat skills and equipment improved significantly.

The sources of these new acquisitions were varied; some came from fallen comrades, others from foes.

Some were purchased with Blood Moon Coins after selling the corpses of allies and enemies.

Compared to other unlucky souls, Tutankhamun was evidently a very astute Crowned Mummy.

As an Undead Lord of the Lower Realm, Fang Zhou had the ability to summon an abundance of cannon fodder for battle, thus often positioning himself toward the rear of the battlefield.

Even when they were required to join the battle, they did so much later than others.

So was the case for the guardians of the Lower Realm Undead Lord; they would enter the battlefield alongside Fang Zhou.

This point was extremely important to Tutankhamun.

Though he had just arrived at the Wailing Blood Plain, he had experienced many wars before.

In battle, individual strength had its place.

However, luck and timing had a far greater influence.

It was undoubtedly better to enter the battlefield later.

No matter how strong you were, unless you were a Glory Champion or Legendary, as battle time extended and energy wore down, even a Silver Tier had a chance to kill a Golden Tier against the right odds.

Therefore, Tutankhamun targeted Fang Zhou, the Lower Realm Undead Lord, hoping to become his temporary guardian.

This would not only bring rewards but also significantly reduce the risk.

Fang Zhou contemplated briefly before saying, "Accepting you as temporary guardians is possible, but what level of combat intensity can you handle?"

Tutankhamun responded respectfully, "Sir, we are willing to follow your orders during this mission and guard by your side.

So long as you remain in combat, we shall not retreat!"

Fang Zhou smiled faintly and said, "Not enough."

Tutankhamun was momentarily stunned, as these were the conditions of a typical temporary guardian contract.

Fang Zhou continued, "I used to be an Undead Lord with my own Personal Guard.

Therefore, guardians such as you don’t hold much value for me, do you understand?"

Having heard this, Tutankhamun took a deep breath, turned back to look at the three brothers in the same coffin behind him.

He said, "Then how about adding three-tenths of the spoils from this endeavor as your compensation?"

After hearing Tutankhamun’s offer, Fang Zhou nodded with satisfaction, "Not bad.

Moreover, should there be any corpses acquired, I want priority purchasing rights."

Tutankhamun nodded heavily, "Lord Fang Zhou, that should not be an issue."

Anyway, Crowned Mummies did not possess the ability to become stronger by devouring corpses.

The bodies of enemies slain in battle could be sold to anyone.

"Then let’s sign a Blood Moon Contract."

With that, Fang Zhou pulled out a blank scroll and began inscribing Undead Runes with Soul Language.

Noting Tutankhamun and his comrades’ nervousness, Fang Zhou, benevolent and kind, composed the scroll using Soul Language as simply as possible, making no tricks.

Tutankhamun took the scroll, examined it repeatedly, and passed it amongst his three coffin brothers for further review.

Confident there was no issue, he bit his finger and signed his name on it.

Thus, Fang Zhou, without expending anything, effortlessly secured three-tenths of the spoils and temporary guardianship from four Golden Lower Rank Crowned Mummies using his status.

........

The army of the Terror Knight Hecarim quickly marched forward.

A multitude of undead and War Mercenaries moved out from the camp, exiting Tusk City through a gate not overly crowded.

The army consisted mostly of thirty thousand Advanced Zombies of the Bronze Tier.

Among them, undead beings of at least Silver Tier numbered five to six thousand.

As for the War Mercenaries, collectively they numbered around five to six thousand as well.

The strength of these War Mercenaries varied greatly, but the lowest tier was Bronze.

After the army left Tusk City, a mass of Ghosts, Skeleton Bats, and Vampires separated from the marching brigade.

They danced in the vast sky near the Endless Blood River and various locations, gathering and driving back every Skeleton they encountered.

These Skeletons also joined Hecarim’s army; they would make excellent logisticians, responsible for transporting various logistical equipment.
