Chapter 1026: Chapter 624: Battle of Funeral Bell Ranch, Brothers of the Same Coffin! (Part 2)

Before the battle commenced, these skeletons would be gathered and sent to the frontline as cannon fodder to wear down the enemy’s strength and spells.

For the Undead Rulers of the Blood War Furnace, it was essential to have skeletons, even if they lacked any other undead race.

Because skeletons lack intelligence and are tireless workers, they remain forever at the bottom rung of the undead societal pyramid.

Even lower undead like zombies have something they can command and exploit, providing an outlet for the grievances of the entire undead society to flow downward.

Every day during the march, many skeletons would be herded back.

On lighter days, a few hundred, and on heavier days, two or three thousand.

During the more than half-month-long march, the ghosts collected tens of thousands of skeletons for the army, greatly outnumbering the combat units.

Of course, in terms of individual strength, most of these skeletons were merely apprentices, not worth mentioning at all.

Finally, after the long march, Hecarim’s army arrived at their destination.

Funeral Bell Ranch.

The original name of this place is unknown, but it was renamed by the consultants of the Lord of Tusk City.

Tusk City is situated in the Wailing Blood Plain, which was previously part of an Abyss Territory.

After a powerful Undead Ruler conquered this land, the Demon Lord here was successfully killed by the Undead Rulers.

This Abyss Territory was captured by the Blood War Furnace, unable to detach and not yet completely devoured and merged, thus becoming the transitional Wailing Blood Plain.

As for Funeral Bell Ranch, its history is even older, possibly traceable to before this territory fell into the Abyss.

After all, it is rare for chaotic and evil demons to construct such orderly ranches.

Rather than farming or herding, demons prefer pillage and plunder.

The entrance to this ranch has an abandoned fortress, and the entrance is behind this fortress.

This is a massive stone fortress, with the walls towering over a hundred meters high, their thickness unknown.

But Fang Zhou, looking through a breach in the wall, estimated its thickness to be at least ten meters.

This fortress was likely built by the owners before the Abyss Demons to resist demon attacks, serving a crucial role.

Yet, no matter how strong a fortress, if its defenders are not robust, it will eventually fall to demon assaults.

The past defense power of this fortress is unknown, but its current defense power is certainly not impressive.

The defense of the fortress can’t rely solely on tall and thick walls.

The critical defense array runes of these fortress walls disappeared long ago due to demon attacks and the erosion of time.

Without these runes, walls relying purely on the physical defense of giant stones offer little defensive value against any enemy with extraordinary power.

Let alone against the Abyss Demons, who sit atop the power pyramid even in the Mythical World.

As Fang Zhou gazed over, he noticed numerous demons resting on the fortress walls.

These are the current guards of Funeral Bell Ranch, a group of unfortunate demons who didn’t escape in time.

The actions of the undead army could not be hidden from the many demons within the city.

As Fang Zhou watched, the originally chaotic fortress quickly became a buzz of activity.

A dense swarm of demons scaled the walls, some emerging from breaches, and some impatient ones even climbing down the walls directly.

The sky was filled with demons flying and circling, most of which were Sky-Hunting Demons.

They rushed towards the undead, preferring offense over defense.

The number of demons was undeniably much greater than the undead, with the undead army comprising over thirty thousand combat troops and another thirty to forty thousand weak skeletons.

Even though this was a substantial force, the number of invading demons was too large to count quickly, certainly over a hundred thousand.

However, Hecarim was unfazed, and so were the other undead; Fang Zhou was also unbothered.

The combat effectiveness of demons isn’t proportional to their numbers.

As paragons of chaotic evil, demons often weaken as their numbers grow.

Sure enough, even while approaching, many demons began fighting amongst themselves.

These foul-tempered, soul-conflicted clowns would brawl over the smallest matters.

Some demons in the vanguard remained intent on engaging the undead army.

Others had already descended into brawls.

Who the enemy was, or why they were fighting, ceased to matter—starting the fight was of utmost importance.

At this point, the undead officers at various levels began loudly commanding their troops.

As customary in undead combat, hordes of ghosts guided numerous skeletons to the frontline, serving as the vanguard cannon fodder.

The undead army would typically place its own troops in the middle to rear sections of the battle formation.

The vanguard would consist of war mercenaries and skeletons.

A towering Vampire Noble led a group of zombies behind the war mercenaries.

At his command, this group of mercenaries began advancing.

The Mage Corps of the undead, with numerous Ghost Mages, Vampire Mages, and Corpse Witches, began casting spells on these war mercenaries.

Mostly frenzy and shield-type beneficial magics.

The mercenaries, imbued with these spells, reached unprecedented levels of combat desire and greatly enhanced their combat effectiveness.

At the rear of the undead formation, Hecarim stood with his powerful Horror Sword and Shield Guard.

Hecarim issued a command to Fang Zhou: "Fang Zhou, deploy your Lower Realm Undead Legion."

Fang Zhou bowed slightly on the other side: "As you command, my lord."

War mercenaries must possess the awareness of war mercenaries.

Especially as a Lower Realm Undead Lord, one must dispatch numerous tombyard undead warriors when the battle commences.

Three crowned mummies led by Tutankhamun, weapons in hand, guarded Fang Zhou, with the Pseudo Bone Dragon Uriel at his feet.

Upon seeing these demons, Uriel, previously solemn, showed emotional fluctuations within its Soul Fire.

Fang Zhou could keenly sense its anger in the Soul Fire.

Clutching the Blood Spirit Long Spear, Fang Zhou’s Death Energy surged.

As runes were successfully inscribed, summoning arrays emerged.

A large number of Spiritual Remains Warriors and Blood Spirit Warriors were summoned by Fang Zhou.

Yet, the Tombyard Undead Army emerged far slower than before.

Hecarim was unaware of Fang Zhou’s strong connection to undead authority or his close link with the Blood Moon Will of the Blood War Furnace.

Thus, Fang Zhou could summon the distant Tombyard Undead Army from the Wasteland of Strife through the tomb portal with low energy consumption and high efficiency.

This was his greatest advantage over other Lower Realm Undead Lords.

Naturally, Fang Zhou didn’t disclose this to his employer.

He proceeded to summon undead warriors at the normal speed of a Lower Realm Undead Lord.

After summoning over a thousand Bronze-tier Spiritual Remains Warriors and more than two hundred Silver-tier Blood Spirit Warriors, Fang Zhou took a break.

Under his command, these warriors moved to the front lines.

These distinct tombyard undead warriors formed arrays near the other war mercenaries, but large gaps remained between their formations.

Fang Zhou acted as if experiencing significant energy drain, drinking an energy potion Hecarim prepared for him, and prepared for more summons later.

Evidently, Hecarim did not detect Fang Zhou’s sly act.

In his understanding, this indeed resembled the typical scene of a Lower Realm Undead Lord summoning.
