Chapter 321: Determination
Chapter 321: Determination
Although I didn’t ask why she didn’t just cover her whole body in Divine Energy, I went ahead and accepted that fact, then followed her out.
We couldn’t exactly teleport from inside the mountains because of all the barriers she had set up. But going through the exit didn’t take much time.
And once we were out of the Hollow Mountains, we flew up to the clouds, remaining undetected. Only then did we spot a few gargoyles flying around.
They weren’t particularly strong, but each one served as a good test subject for her Divine Energy. To my genuine surprise, every gargoyle she glanced at disintegrated into dust, simply because every single trace of their soul was purged from their Demonic Cores.
This was the same outcome for every single one of the gargoyles, and realizing that we needed more tests, we decided to take a trip a bit further, arriving in the center of the continent where there were thousands of weak demons gathered.
They were in the middle of killing humans, torching towns, and setting up portals that would lead them back to the Demon Realm whenever they wanted. I knew for a fact there were millions more demons doing the same exact thing, so even if we killed all of them here, no one would probably notice.
The clouds parted slightly, casting our shadows down at all the demons below. Because we were so high up, our shadows looked colossal, inspiring fear in the hearts of the demons who looked up at us.
Yet that fear was only the tip of the iceberg as, in the blink of an eye, I uprooted the earth which all the demons stood upon and brought it into the sky, closer to me and Clementine.
All the demons were startled, jumping around in fright or trying to fly away. However, they weren’t allowed to leave, as I tore their wings off and cut off the legs of all those who tried to escape.
In the end, a floating island was only hundreds of meters away from us, packed with demons ranging from Grade 4 to Grade 30. None of them could do anything but watch in horror.
But thankfully, that horror didn’t last long as Clementine went ahead and finally used her Divine Energy. From beside her, I felt a powerful pulse of Divine Energy leave her eyes and then travel downward.
It looked innocent at first, almost like there was no threat. However, the moment that pulse of Divine Energy washed over the demons, everything changed.
Their bodies and their cores began to disintegrate, as she had greatly underestimated her own powers. All she wanted to do was erase the soul and keep the Demonic Core. And yet, what she did now was practically erase their whole being from existence.
And so, in front of my shocked gaze, thousands of demons fell to their knees and vanished without a trace. Minutes passed in silence until finally, I glanced over at Clementine. She seemed a little unsatisfied with something.
Not only that, I spotted that she now had a small nosebleed. I immediately tossed aside the chunk I had torn out of the ground and approached her, cupping her cheeks with my hands and looking straight into her eyes.
"Well...? How is it?"
She thought it over for a moment, then shook her head. "It’s not enough."
I raised a brow. "That’s not enough? You just wiped out thousands of demons with a single gaze."
Her expression turned more frustrated. "And? Are you telling me you couldn’t do that with just your Telekinesis alone and no Divine Energy? Look, even I could kill all of them with just my Soul Army. It’s not good enough. I need something that could erase half a continent in the blink of an eye."
Hmm?
"No offense, Clementine, but you know even I can’t do that, right?" I said matter-of-factly.
She narrowed her eyes. "Can’t you? Do it right now. Uproot this whole country. It’s not like you broke a single sweat trying to uproot land that’s easily 15,000 tons. Just how much can you control, Amon?"
I was a bit taken aback by her sudden outburst. Did she always feel this way, or did she only start feeling this way after we separated...?
"Clementine, you know you can talk to me, right?"
And yet...
"Can I? What am I supposed to do? You’re going to go headfirst into danger, and I can barely defeat a Demon Emperor. I need... Give me ideas. You said after the Demon Descent happened, there’d be a lot of places to get loot, right?"
She approached me, her eyes trembling.
"Give me the locations where I could find power. I need—"
I placed a finger over her lips and then let out a sigh.
"You’re too impatient, Clementine. Remember the gift I had brought back to you? The potion? We both need to drink it now. As for the other power-ups, I could get you anything you want. I could even..."
No...
Maybe I couldn’t.
My Telekinesis was advanced, but was it advanced enough to reconstruct organs and create new ones?
I... I wanted to create a second Dragon Heart. I already have my own Dragon Heart, which I would use as the base model. Afterwards, I would just need a lot of blood, knowledge of human and dragon anatomy, and lastly, Clementine’s consent.
If I have all of that, I can go ahead and create a Dragon Heart for her, making it so she could use an even greater amount of energy than she already could.
It was a good idea on paper, but the hard part came in the form of actually finding an accurate book about dragons. Most of those books had been burned or faked.
But...
Back when I searched for materials to make Clementine’s and my rings... I stumbled upon a dragon corpse, one that had nothing but bones left.
Coincidentally, there were a couple of dragon eggs beside that corpse, and if that meant anything, then my next move after consuming the Titan’s heart potion was obvious.
I needed to find those dragons.
