Chapter 320: Quick Learner
Chapter 320: Quick Learner
"I’ll teach you how to use Divine Energy, but only if you stop trying to lower yourself," I said.
I approached her, placing a single finger on her chin.
"You’re nowhere near a burden. Now stop being stupid. Also, check this out."
Before she could utter a single word, I reached into my dimensional ring and began pulling out one Demonic Core after another. All these Demonic Cores belonged to Demon Kings, and even a few Demon Dukes.
She seemed surprised by how many I had gathered, and I was too, to be frank. There were a limited amount of Demon Kings at the moment, but that didn’t mean the demons couldn’t make more.
If anything, they already had the blood to make the demons, and the willpower to mass-produce Demon Kings. The only thing truly keeping their numbers at bay was their tradition.
But what would happen once someone decided to just screw that tradition and do whatever they wanted? Well... I would have an infinite amount of Demon Kings to give to Clementine. That’s what that meant.
Heh.
"These are all... Why are they all so powerful?" Clementine mumbled and began picking them up. She had pretty much forgotten about what she had said just moments ago as she immediately began purging the consciousnesses from the Demonic Cores.
Right after, she infused her own consciousness, altered the Demonic Cores’ souls, and lastly, turned them into her Soul Army. It was a fun process to look at from the side, and it was especially fun when I realized just how fast she was doing this.
Before, it took her a while. Now? Only a few seconds per Demonic Core. It only took her a little over 20 minutes to turn every single Demonic Core I brought into her Soul Army, and just like that, her power had increased exponentially.
If before she was considered top 800 in the world, she was now easily top 100, since not even the most powerful beings could deal with so many Demon Kings at once.
Well, unless those beings were just like me. But thankfully for us, there weren’t many of those around. Chuckling to myself, I subconsciously went ahead and patted her head. She didn’t push me away, and instead, she just relaxed, taking in the breath of fresh air.
"I’m glad you’re alive," she said out of nowhere.
I let out a chuckle. "Naturally. I have no plans of dying any time soon."
"Mm... I hope so. Also, Divine Energy, can you teach me now? I want to learn."
I thought it over for a moment, then nodded. "Honestly, not everyone is compatible with Divine Energy, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t use it."
She pouted. "If I can’t use it, I’ll just have to force my body to adapt so I can use it. Teach me everything."
Ah.
Welp.
If she was so confident, then might as well.
"Do you know what a Mind Realm is?" I asked.
"Hmm? Are you talking about our Inner Realm?" she replied.
"I think so. I call it the Mind Realm. But yeah, that might be the one. Did you customize it and stuff already?"
She nodded. "Obviously. It’s one of the first things I did when I learned how to."
So I was the idiot then.
Got it.
"Alright, I’ll infuse some Divine Energy into your body and send it into your Inner Realm. Let me know if you feel anything."
With that, I went ahead and sent a jolt of Divine Energy straight through her body. I was sure she wouldn’t react, but to my surprise, she went ahead and absorbed that Divine Energy without batting an eye.
I backed off and just stared at her, waiting for her to do something. Except I might’ve underestimated her more than I thought, since while time passes much slower inside the Mind Realm, I definitely didn’t expect her to suddenly open her eyes and radiate such an intense amount of Divine Energy.
It was strange, as unlike my own Divine Energy, I could see hers in her eyes. It was warm, and if I stared right into her eyes, it was as though I was being burned by the sun. She was much more intense than I was, but there was also one little issue I found out right away.
I could vaguely sense her Divine Energy reserves, and they weren’t particularly great. If I had to make a comparison, it’d be like this...
Initially, my Divine Energy was enough to cover a small flower, and in turn, it gave me several minutes of power boost. Compared to what I have now, which is like a family home, it’s nothing.
Clementine, on the other hand, had a small family car’s worth of Divine Energy inside her body. Unlike me, I wasn’t sure if she’d be able to increase it.
But even that much was more than enough to make her considerably stronger. After all, Wilhelm did say everyone had some degree of Divine Energy in their bodies, just not all of them could use it.
Nonetheless, as I stared at Clementine, I couldn’t help but feel happy.
"You actually did it. Your Divine Energy also seems to have some kind of attribute. I feel a burning sensation every time I look into your eyes," I said.
She seemed a little out of it for a few moments, but then the Divine Energy I felt in her eyes faded away. Her knees buckled, and she had no choice but to sit down, grasp her forehead, and then groan in pain.
"Is everything alright?" I asked, worried.
She shook her head. "I’m fine. I poured all that Divine Energy into my eyes, so now I think I’ll be able to erase someone’s soul just by looking at them."
"...?"
"You can do what now?" I muttered.
A faint smile appeared on her face. "As it so happens, I can feel a few demons flying over the mountains. I kind of want to try these new powers out, so would you mind accompanying me?"
