Zane Langdon simply had no other choice. He couldn’t get rid of him.

Why would Zane Langdon even bother with something like this?

“Master Rockwell, would you like me to call your family for you?” the waiter reminded him again.

“Call my ass! I haven’t finished drinking yet! Just do your damn job and serve me!” Jasper Rockwell poured another glass, leaving only a single serving in the bottle.

“Get the hell away from me! I’m not done drinking!”

After finishing the glass, Jasper Rockwell picked up his phone again. ‘Should I call Second Brother and ask to borrow some money?’

‘This money would be a loan.’

‘A personal loan.’

‘That wouldn’t count as taking money from the Rockwell Family, right?’

He thought for a moment, then made the call.

“Why are you calling me this late?”

“Because I miss you, of course!”

“You miss me this late at night? I’ve got a feeling this isn’t a social call.”

“Well, there is something, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing.”

“Spit it out.”

“I’d like to borrow some money.”

“How much?”

“Wow, Second Brother, straight to the point! Four million! I’ll borrow it for a month, and after that, I’ll pay you back immediately, every last cent! Don’t tell our oldest brother, and definitely don’t tell Grandpa.”

“I can lend you four hundred. Four million? Don’t have it.”

“How is that possible! You definitely have it, you just don’t want to lend it to me! If you don’t, your little brother might have to sell his body!”

“What makes you so confident?”

“I’m just confident that you’ll lend it to me!”

“No, I mean, what makes you so confident you’re worth four million?”

“Bro! Are we even related?”

“Either you get it from Grandpa’s funds, or you go sell yourself.”

“I… I’ll go sell myself then!” Jasper Rockwell furiously hung up. As he looked up, he saw a figure standing before him.

Zane Langdon looked at Jasper Rockwell, his gaze shifting to the liquor on the table.

Jasper Rockwell shot to his feet and threw himself into Zane Langdon’s arms.

“Zane! They’re bullying me! They’re all bullying me!”

Zane Langdon’s brow furrowed deeply. His hands remained in his pockets, and his entire body went rigid.

“Let go.”

“No! You’re my savior, my rock! I have to hold on tight! Are you here to pay my bill?”

“How am I supposed to pay your bill if you don’t let go of me?”

The moment Jasper Rockwell heard that, he let go.

Zane Langdon took out a card and handed it to the waiter. “I’m covering his tab for today.”

“Right away, sir.” The waiter took the card and stepped away.

Jasper Rockwell watched Zane Langdon, about to latch onto him again.

Zane Langdon immediately took a step back.

Seeing his aloofness, Jasper Rockwell picked up the liquor bottle and held it out to Zane Langdon. “Here, there’s one glass left. It’s for you.”

Zane Langdon looked at the man before him, clenching his fists out of sight. The bulging veins on the back of his hands revealed just how much restraint he was exercising.

Jasper Rockwell was drunk, a faint flush on his cheeks. His beautiful, almond-shaped eyes seemed to hold all the vibrancy of spring.

Zane Langdon didn’t dare to meet his gaze.

‘He didn’t know why he felt so flustered.’

‘He never should have come.’

The waiter returned and handed the card back to Zane Langdon.

“Master Rockwell, you’re free to go. The bill has been settled.”

Jasper Rockwell immediately hooked his arm through Zane Langdon’s. “Let’s go, let’s go, we’re leaving right now.” As he spoke, he didn’t forget to grab the liquor bottle from the table.

Zane Langdon shoved him away in disgust.

Unsteady on his feet, Jasper Rockwell stumbled into a nearby table. Even though he knew Zane Langdon couldn’t stand him, he still chased after him.

“Zane Langdon, Zane Langdon, wait for me!”

Zane Langdon walked outside to where his car was parked nearby.

Jasper Rockwell caught up to him. “I’ll pay you back in a month.”

“And how will you do that?”

“I’ll figure something out!”

“By selling yourself?”
