Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 597: Bail Me Out
“Drink up today and be drunk today! Who cares what tomorrow brings!”
Keith Coleman glanced sympathetically in Jasper Rockwell’s direction.
“Is President Fairchild really not going to help him?” Rose Shaw couldn’t help but ask.
“He’s not.”
“But he’s the third master of the Rockwell Family!”
“The third master of the Rockwell Family who’s been kicked out,” Keith Coleman added.
Rose Shaw was at a loss for words. She felt sorry for Jasper Rockwell, but at the same time, she couldn’t suppress the urge to laugh.
Jasper Rockwell set down his wine bottle and waved a waiter over from across the room.
“Have you seen Melody Monroe?”
“Sorry, I haven’t seen Miss Monroe.”
“I have a secret to tell you. C’mere, lean in. I’ll whisper it just to you.”
“Please, go ahead, Master Rockwell.”
“Your President Fisher and I are good friends.”
“Right.”
“If President Fisher were here, he would definitely buy me this drink.”
“But President Fisher isn’t here.”
“You can call and ask him. Just say Jasper Rockwell is here, tell him I drank a bottle of wine, and that he should pay for it!”
“Master Rockwell, President Fisher has a strict policy. Everyone who comes in pays their own way. Why don’t you give him a call yourself?”
Jasper Rockwell: …
He pointed a trembling finger at the waiter, fuming.
“Is there anything else you need, Master Rockwell?”
“Nothing.” Jasper Rockwell leaned back on the sofa.
‘Those two… one’s a wolf, the other’s even more vicious. Neither of them is human! If I hadn’t been kicked out of my family, would I have ever sunk this low?’
「Time ticked by.」
The film crew had all left.
Rose Shaw and Keith Coleman watched Jasper Rockwell on the sofa, unsure if he was asleep or had just passed out drunk.
“What about him?”
“It’s fine. Let’s just leave him here,” Keith Coleman said, not at all concerned. “I’ll take you home.”
Jasper Rockwell groggily heard someone calling his name. He opened his eyes to a face looming over him and recognized the waiter from earlier.
“What are you doing!”
“Master Rockwell, your total is 3.7 million. Here is the bill.”
“I’ll come back and settle it tomorrow.”
“I’m sorry, but the bill must be settled tonight. We can help you contact your family.”
“No need! I’ll pay it myself!” Jasper Rockwell grabbed his phone and started scrolling through his contacts.
‘How much did Evan Fairchild and Shawn Fisher get from my old man to do this to me?’
‘They must be ganging up to force me to give in, right?’
‘Thinking I’ll call the Rockwell Family for money? Not a chance!’
He scrolled through his contacts until he found the number he was looking for.
Zane Langdon had just stepped out of the bathroom, water still dripping from his hair. He wore only a bathrobe. Filming had run late today, and he was exhausted.
His phone, sitting on the table, suddenly rang. His brow furrowed.
When he saw it was Jasper Rockwell calling, he tossed the phone aside.
The ringing had just stopped when it immediately started up again.
Zane Langdon had no choice but to pick up the phone and answer.
“Zane, save me!”
Zane Langdon’s brow furrowed even deeper.
“Zane, they’re holding me here! Have Sean Coleman come bail me out!”
“Didn’t you go to crash Melody Monroe’s wrap party today?”
“Yeah! And crashing it got me into trouble! Ev—… I… I’m at The Sovereign. I drank a bottle of wine and can’t pay. Can you get Sean Coleman to come settle the bill? I’ll owe you. I’ll pay you back soon.”
“How much?”
“Three point seven million.”
The line went dead. Jasper Rockwell stared at his phone, completely stunned.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asked the waiter.
The waiter shook his head.
A chill went down Jasper Rockwell’s spine.
‘Zane’s not going to help me, is he?’
‘After all, I had shamelessly pestered him to be his personal assistant, and I got the feeling he couldn’t stand me.’
