Chapter 596: Wedding Rings
“I’ll show you something first, and then… you can do whatever you want with me.”
“What is it?”
Evan Fairchild took out a red gift box. It looked incredibly exquisite.
He opened the box, and Melody Monroe saw a ring nestled inside.
“This is…”
“Our wedding rings. I made a special trip to pick them up on my recent trip abroad.”
“Wedding rings?” Melody Monroe was a bit confused. “Aren’t wedding rings supposed to come in pairs? Why is there only one?”
Evan Fairchild took the ring out, and it suddenly turned into two.
The diamond on the woman’s ring fit perfectly into the man’s, allowing them to join as one!
The man’s ring was hollowed out in the middle, but its clever design kept it from looking clunky. In fact, it looked quite unique.
“Give me your hand.”
Melody Monroe slowly extended her hand.
Evan Fairchild slipped the ring onto her finger.
“See? With this ring on your finger, you’ve also taken my heart away.”
Evan Fairchild placed his ring in Melody Monroe’s hand.
Melody Monroe picked it up and put it on his finger.
“You’re not allowed to take it off. Ever.”
“Okay.” Melody Monroe nodded.
Gazing at the pair of wedding rings, her eyes welled with tears as she hugged Evan Fairchild, overcome with emotion.
“Do you like them?”
“I love them.” She nodded vigorously.
Evan Fairchild tilted her face up. Looking into her tear-filled eyes, he couldn’t resist kissing her.
“No crying. Now you can have your way with me,” he reminded her with a smile.
Melody Monroe looked at him and couldn’t help but smile too.
“I’m hungry.”
Evan Fairchild: …
He cupped her chin and gave her a hard kiss. Then he picked Melody Monroe up and walked toward the nearby dining table.
The waiters had already served all the dishes.
Evan Fairchild had originally been sitting at the opposite end of the long table, but he picked up his chair and moved it next to Melody Monroe.
“Sweetie’s first birthday party is tomorrow, and I still don’t know what gift to buy.”
“Just pick something out. Get whatever you want.” Evan Fairchild couldn’t care less about these things.
Melody Monroe knew it was useless to ask him.
“I’ve only been gone a few days. Why do you look thinner again?”
“I haven’t! I’m exactly ninety-nine pounds!”
“Is it Rose Shaw making you watch your weight again?”
“N-no.” Melody Monroe quickly shook her head. “This is my livelihood. If I gain weight, how will I get any acting roles?”
“You’re too thin.” As Evan Fairchild spoke, he desperately piled food onto Melody Monroe’s plate.
“I can’t eat that much.” Melody Monroe hurriedly tried to move some of it off her plate.
“If you don’t eat enough, where will you get the stamina?”
Melody Monroe: …
…
In the end, Melody Monroe never showed up. However, everyone had a great time and had long since forgotten about her.
The only one on edge was Jasper Rockwell.
He was paying for all his own expenses.
He felt like even the air he was breathing here smelled of money.
Looking at the bottle of liquor in front of him, he felt like crying but had no tears. Still, he poured himself a glass.
No matter how shitty life got, a drink was still a must.
Rose Shaw was also there, so naturally, Keith Coleman wasn’t keeping Jasper Rockwell company. He had long since glued himself to her side.
Jasper Rockwell finished his glass and let out a drunken hiccup.
His tolerance for alcohol wasn’t very good, and on top of that, this liquor was quite strong. After drinking half the bottle, he was already starting to feel dizzy. He leaned back on the sofa, took out his phone, and opened his text messages.
It was a text from his bank, showing his account balance.
Less than ten thousand.
“Fuck! How do I have so little money?”
Jasper Rockwell grabbed the bottle and took a swig.
