The agent lowered their head, diminishing their presence, fully aware that this conversation mustn’t be overheard by outsiders.

Clara Philips caressed Jovana Shaw’s face, her eyes narrowing coldly, "Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get those negatives back."

Alison buried herself in Clara Philips’ arms, crying, "Mommy, you must get them back. If those photos get out, I’m ruined."

"Rest assured, I will never let her ruin you again!" Clara Philips’ voice was sharp and chilling, as if she harbored murderous intent towards Aurelia Shaw.

At the estate, Aurelia was sleeping fitfully, something pressing down on her.

Her lips were met with softness, nibbled lightly.

Aurelia shivered, abruptly opening her eyes, only relaxing when she smelled the familiar lemon scent.

Mason captured her lips again, nibbling, then lightly pecking twice.

Aurelia glanced at the balcony, instantly knowing how he got in, "Why are you climbing through the window in the middle of the night? Are you a thief?"

"I missed you," Mason said, "You won’t allow me to meet Caspian Parker, so this is the only way to see you."

Aurelia sighed, then grit her teeth, "We just met during the day!"

"But I miss you again," Mason nuzzled against her neck, his breath warm and moist, his lips accidentally or intentionally brushed her chin, nibbling twice, "Aurelia, I realize I miss you once you’re out of my sight."

Mason seemed to have developed a habit of nibbling, alternating bites and kisses.

"Divorced or not, without that piece of paper, you’re still my woman!" Mason insisted fiercely, gripping her chin and warning, "This time no one will take you away, if Alaric Wood tries to, I’ll kill him! If my people can’t accept you, I’ll resign my Major General position! If you try to escape, I’ll break your legs and handcuff you to the bed, you won’t go anywhere!"

Mason’s roar angered Aurelia too, "Then just break my legs!"

"You know I can’t bear to!" Mason bit her lip furiously.

Aurelia was annoyed, yet felt like laughing, wanting to laugh but unable to drop her pride, her lips twitching stiffly, turning into a small spasm.

Mason narrowed his eyes, unable to discern her thoughts, wanting to nibble again.

Ugh, sometimes guessing what she thinks is frustrating, he thought he knew her well, yet at times he couldn’t fathom what went on in her mind.

"Knock knock!" Someone was knocking on the door.

Aurelia’s body instantly tensed.

There were no servants in the house, at this hour, the one knocking could only be Caspian Parker.

Aurelia pushed Mason, trying to make him go down.
