Chapter 1407: Chapter 1407: Jealousy

Aurelia was so angry she hit him.

Mason Nightshade laughed.

He liked it best when she was like this, like a little cat with its fur standing on end.

Mason Nightshade never knew how to cherish a woman’s beauty, but all his tenderness was given to Aurelia alone.

When she grew tired from hitting him, he held her hand in his palm and rubbed it, "Does it hurt?"

Aurelia was infuriated by his shameless behavior.

Mason Nightshade always had this problem; tonight he was particularly reckless.

"Aurelia?" Caspian Parker sensed something unusual, there was no sound from inside, so he knocked louder, "Aurelia, may I come in?"

"Click!" The sound of the door opening.

Mason Nightshade’s long eyes narrowed coldly, "Does he often enter your room without permission like this?"

Mason Nightshade knew the two were siblings and he shouldn’t be jealous like this, but any male appearing beside her made him uncomfortable.

It was a deep love accumulated over two lifetimes.

Mason Nightshade’s possessiveness towards Aurelia was nearly insane; he was aware, yet feared hurting her, hence he continuously tried to restrain himself.

"Hurry up and leave, if my brother sees you, you’ll never touch me again!" Aurelia pushed Mason Nightshade away, Mason Nightshade instantly dissolved into the night.

Even though Aurelia was quick, she couldn’t see him clearly.

Caspian Parker came in, suspiciously scanning the room, "I knocked, why didn’t you respond?" He seemed to have heard voices.

Aurelia was startled awake, rubbed her eyes, and looked at Caspian Parker, "I fell asleep and didn’t hear, brother, is something up?"

"I heard some noise in your room and wasn’t assured, so I came to check." Caspian Parker said, his expression serious and tense, not relaxed.

"It’s probably your cat." Aurelia pointed to the corner, indeed a cat emerged, lazily yawning.

Caspian Parker breathed a barely perceptible sigh of relief, and carried James out of the room.

Holding onto the door handle, he turned back to Aurelia and said, "Goodnight."

Hearing the footsteps fade, Aurelia exhaled and immediately went to find Mason Nightshade.

Mason Nightshade was hiding outside the balcony.

Once the footsteps faded, he climbed back up, turned, and pinned Aurelia, lightly pecking at her soft lips. 𝐟𝒓ℯⅇ

Her lips were so tender, addictive.

"In the future, don’t let him into your room." Mason Nightshade spoke with inexplicable anger, "In the middle of the night, how does it look for him to come to your room?"

"He’s my brother!" Aurelia replied with a steady voice.

"He’s a man! Even as a brother, he shouldn’t just come into his sister’s room in the middle of the night!" Mason Nightshade’s eyes darkened.

"There’s nothing between us, you have no right to interfere!"

Mason Nightshade stayed silent.

Not because he was hurt; she had said that sentence repeatedly, yet though his heart ached upon hearing it, he felt no significant impact.

If this topic continued, they were bound to argue again.

Mason Nightshade sighed tiredly, pulling Aurelia into his embrace, pressing his wearied head against her, "Ah, Aurelia, be good, let me sleep for a while, I’m truly a bit tired."

Aurelia bit her lip, feeling pity for him; she knew he had a mission here, during the day he was occupied with her, there was surely more work awaiting him afterward.

She couldn’t ask about the mission, observing the faint dark circles under his eyes made her heart ache.

Leaning against his chest, inhaling his refreshing scent, drowsiness overcame her quickly, and she soon fell asleep.

Aurelia had a dream.

She forgot what the dream was about, but when she awoke, her clothes were damp with sweat, cold against her back.

An endless cold, and a helpless, sinking mood surged in the darkness!

Aurelia’s face was wet; she touched her face, shocked to discover she was crying in her sleep!

Mason Nightshade heard her soft sobs and suddenly woke up.
