Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!

Chapter 1401: Wouldn’t It Be a Shame If I Didn’t Take the Bait?

“Aurelia!” A familiar male voice suddenly sounded from behind.

As soon as Aurelia arrived at the film crew, Andrew Kennedy approached her.

Aurelia felt a bit of a headache.

In the past, although Andrew was clingy, it was never like this. Now it felt more like he was deliberately getting close to her.

But why would he be close to her? The Shaw Family had already gone bankrupt, and her scandals were all over the internet. Anyone associated with her would be subjected to malicious speculation by her haters, so why would Andrew bother?

Andrew leaned in and whispered a few words in her ear.

Aurelia looked at him in surprise, “Really?”

Andrew smirked, leaning in again.

Aurelia wanted to avoid him but recalled what he had said, so she didn’t move.

Out of the corner of her eye, a gleam of light seemed to flash by, but when Aurelia raised her gaze to look over, it was gone.

She slightly narrowed her peach blossom-shaped eyes, an icy chill surfacing in her gaze.

Before returning to the suite, Aurelia stopped by Mason Nightshade’s hotel to change her bandages.

Junia Simpson still maintained her usual calm demeanor, neither cold nor enthusiastic, indicating she truly no longer bore any grudge against Aurelia.

“The wound is healing so fast! Besides Mason, I’ve never seen anyone’s wound heal this quickly…” Junia murmured softly, then reminded, “Don’t let it touch water, avoid spicy food, and though new tissue is forming, any intense activity might reopen the wound.”

“I understand,” Aurelia nodded with a smile.

Junia felt assured with Aurelia.

Unlike Mason Nightshade, who often neglected his own health when busy.

Junia left.

Mason lifted Aurelia’s clothing edge, his fingers brushing against her wound—his rough fingertips caused Aurelia to shiver all over.

Aurelia grasped his hand, “Is there any news from Vespera Bennett?”

Vespera Bennett was the only link to that incident five years ago. After abducting Aurelia, she vanished, surely too scared to return to Alaric Wood and probably hiding. Finding her wouldn’t be easy.

“My people are looking,” Mason replied, not withdrawing his hand but enjoying the feel of her smooth, cool skin under his fingers, then pulled her close, pressing her onto the bed as he lowered his head to kiss her.

After a while, the kiss started to ignite a fire; Mason felt a pent-up urge, hard to resist this girl. But she had injuries that might tear open, and she resisted him.

Mason rolled over, releasing her, breathing heavily, his face showing a pained expression.

At this moment, the phone rang.

Frowning with irritation, Mason glanced at the caller ID and answered.

He didn’t speak.

His breathing wasn’t steady yet; speaking might expose something.

He wasn’t concerned, but she was thin-skinned.

“Boss, there’s something…” Gustavo Yates said something that caused Mason’s brow to furrow coldly, eyes dark like a storm brewing—chilling and full of coldness.

“Has something happened?” Aurelia adjusted her clothes, then looked at Mason’s suddenly grave face.

Something came to mind for Aurelia, her face also darkening, “Is it Alaric Wood…”

“It has nothing to do with him!” Mason’s eyes flashed with anger, grabbing her chin and biting down, lips against hers as he murmured, “Don’t mention him in front of me.”

“So can I talk about him behind your back?” Aurelia asked.

“Don’t mention him behind my back either!” Mason’s face was cold as ice, his eyes frost-filled, “Try saying one word about him!”

Mason pulled her into his arms, whispered a few words in her ear, then watched her contemplative face, “What do you plan to do? I can make one call and intercept all the news.”

“No.” Aurelia’s lips curled into a cunning yet excited smile, “They went to all this effort to set a trap for me—wouldn’t it be a waste if I don’t dive in?”
