Chapter 1402: Chapter 1402: She Has Her Own Plans

"But... help me keep a lid on that other post first. I’ve got something I want to do..." Aurelia Shaw flashed a sly smile.

Mason Nightshade pinched her chin, staring into those crafty eyes of hers. "What are you plotting this time?"

The family cat was about to start scheming against someone again.

And yet when she treated him like this, he couldn’t get enough.

"Not telling you!" Aurelia said.

Sure enough, very soon someone online exposed that Andrew Kennedy was planning to develop his career in M Nation.

Andrew Kennedy’s agent saw that piece of gossip and felt a headache coming on.

"Do you think it might be Aurelia who sold you out?" Susan Easton thought of Aurelia.

Since Andrew came to M Nation, he’d only met Aurelia.

There’s no real affection in the entertainment industry; backstabbing is everywhere. Susan was seasoned at handling this sort of thing. In her eyes, selling information was as common as dirt—nothing special.

Andrew held his wine glass, his face dark, lost in thought.

After a long moment, Andrew finally said, "I don’t think she’s that kind of person."

Susan let out a laugh, like she’d just heard a joke. "Sigh, since when did you start making this kind of mistake? Andrew, don’t let your feelings mess things up. I know how you feel about her..."

Andrew looked over at Susan, his gaze shadowed.

Realizing she’d said the wrong thing, Susan quickly shifted. "Let’s not respond to this for now. We’ll talk after the contract is completely finalized."

"Mm." Andrew agreed. His expression was still pensive, God knows what he was thinking.

Aurelia, meanwhile, was quite satisfied as she read the exposé. Her peach-blossom eyes curved into a sly, enchanting arc. She tapped her fingers on the table and hummed a little tune in a very good mood.

This was a leak she had Mason put out.

As for what it was for...

She naturally had her own plans.

Aurelia gave Andrew a call. "Hey, got time? You’ve come all the way to M Nation and I still haven’t hosted a welcome party for you."

Andrew was a little surprised to get Aurelia’s call, wondering what on earth she was up to.

Even though he didn’t want to suspect her, there were just too many stabbings-in-the-back in this industry. Andrew wasn’t some rookie who hadn’t seen anything, but when it came to Aurelia he still kept a twenty- or thirty-percent level of suspicion.

Right off the bat, he was pondering why she’d asked him out.

His thoughts churned, but it took him only a second or two. "Sure. Where are we meeting?"

He agreed.

Why should he be afraid of a woman? In terms of time spent in this circle, he knew a lot more tricks than she did.

If Aurelia really was up to something, Andrew actually wanted to see it for himself.

Aurelia chose Nightshade City as the meeting place. The first and second floors of Nightshade City were filled with all kinds of entertainment, while the fourth and fifth floors had rooms for guests. It was M Town’s most popular upscale entertainment club.

Aurelia had another reason for choosing this place...

The crowd here was complicated—complicated enough that people could slip in easily.

Andrew took a sip of his drink and looked at the woman opposite him. Her cheeks were blended into the dim lighting, their lines soft and delicate. The curve of her lips was sharp, while her peach-blossom eyes shimmered with sensuality. It was something she was born with, the kind that made men unable to look away.

He’d seen all kinds of beautiful women in the entertainment industry, but no one looked quite like Aurelia, that mix of seduction and innocence fused into one.

Who wouldn’t like someone like her?

It’s just that she seemed to prefer dressing herself up as cool and aloof, not exactly approachable. Her eyes held a smile when she looked at people, yet there was this sense of keeping everyone at arm’s length, like no matter what you did you could never get into her heart.

Andrew suddenly found himself very interested in Aurelia.

It wasn’t liking, exactly—more like pure curiosity. She was like a bundle of secrets, making people want to pry them open. Andrew had felt this way about her a long time ago.

"You didn’t ask me out just to drink, did you?" Andrew finally voiced the question.
