Chapter 1386: Chapter 1386: Hmph! I Have the Key

He sat upright, his eyes fixed on the computer, long and slender fingers rhythmically tapping the keyboard. As usual, he never hid his work from her, regardless of her close ties with the Mafia.

The servant brought the meal up.

Assist Aurelia Shaw out of bed.

"Ouch!" Aurelia cried out in pain, quickly glancing at Mason Nightshade, who didn’t even flinch, his fingers still tapping on the keyboard, giving off a feeling of performing a solo scene.

Aurelia occasionally looked at Mason Nightshade while biting her chopsticks, unaware that she had inadvertently put a piece of chili in her mouth.

Mason Nightshade’s eyes tightened, he swiftly grabbed the chili and threw it in the trash. "You’re injured, you can’t eat spicy food."

"Oh."

Aurelia poked at her food and hesitated inwardly for a while, "Mason Nightshade, about what I said earlier..."

Mason Nightshade glanced at her but said nothing, quietly eating his meal.

"I never intended to trust Alaric Wood with my life, nor did I underestimate my own life. It’s just that I believe in Alaric Wood. Even if my kidnapping is related to him, he definitely never intended to take my life."

Mason Nightshade was furious. Was this girl explaining herself, or was she deliberately provoking him? Why trust another man! The thought of her heart having another man inside, trusting another man, made Mason Nightshade’s anger almost explode!

Indeed, Alaric Wood held a different place in his woman’s heart!

Aurelia grumbled while biting her chopsticks, watching Mason Nightshade’s expression not improve, instead growing darker.

Did she say something wrong?

The heart of a man is like a needle at the bottom of the sea, truly hard to comprehend.

Meanwhile, at the back mountain, Alaric Wood received a report from his men and immediately rushed over, seeing the chaos everywhere, but not a soul in sight, the lingering scent of gunpowder hanging in the air. Alaric Wood’s hands clenched tight, with killing intent flickering in his eyes.

"If you can’t find them, you’ll stay here and die with them."

His men shivered violently.

Alaric Wood’s temper was unpredictable; he often liked to torture people to death. When he spoke of death, it meant extreme pain.

Soon someone ran over quickly, "Brother Alaric, I heard from people at the bottom of the mountain that several vehicles drove away with two injured individuals, from the description, they are likely the people you are looking for."

"What type of car?"

"It seemed... a black car. A traveler saw it by chance, those people looked Eastern, their outfits and conduct were not ordinary."

"Country Z people... Mason Nightshade." Alaric Wood narrowed his eyes, a wicked glint flashing coldly across them.

...

In the bathroom, Aurelia Shaw finally removed her clothes, letting out a sigh.

She was just about to remove another layer when she heard noises outside the door.

The sound was very faint, but she still heard it.

Aurelia became vigilant, narrowing her eyes as the door suddenly knocked, the tall shadow cast on the door, Mason Nightshade’s voice came from outside:

"Open the door."

"Do you need something?" Aurelia asked.

"Open the door," Mason Nightshade said tersely, staring at the delicate shadow within, his brow furrowing.

"I’m taking a shower."

"I know."

Aurelia... curious why he wanted to come in.

"Your clothes can’t be removed."

Aurelia... "I can handle it myself."

There was no sound from outside anymore, Aurelia listened against the door for a while, hearing nothing, she thought Mason Nightshade had left. But a few minutes later, the sound of the door lock turning snapped.

Mason Nightshade entered.

Aurelia’s hand reached behind her, and seeing Mason Nightshade, first stunned, then instinctively shielded her chest.
