Chapter 113 Leave that body!!
Chapter 113: Chapter 113 Leave that body!!
AN HOUR BEFORE THE WORLD STOPPED
Lysander walked through the battlefield as though the war raging around him had absolutely nothing to do with him.
The ground beneath his feet was cracked, magic continued exploding from every direction, and the battle between the ancestral spirits and the emperor had turned the entire assembly grounds into chaos.
Yet none of it seemed capable of touching him.
He simply walked forward until he reached the center of the battlefield and stopped.
Behind him stood Lamia and Oliver, both watching him carefully, trying to figure out exactly what the devil son intended to do.
Lamia narrowed his eyes.
"What is his move? He better—"
He fell silent.
Lysander snapped the fingers of his hand.
The threads of magic filling the air instantly stopped.
Every single strand froze as though someone had flipped a switch.
The battlefield became strangely still.
Rose’s eyes shifted toward him.
The smile on her face slowly twisted into something malicious.
She wasn’t the one controlling the battle anymore. The spirit that had taken over her body was the one truly orchestrating the massacre, but Rose still had some influence over what was happening.
And she clearly wasn’t pleased to see Lysander interfere.
"So the devil son has decided to meddle in the affairs of witches."
Her voice carried across the battlefield.
"I wonder what brought you here."
Lysander didn’t answer.
Rose’s smile widened.
"Last time I checked, weren’t you enjoying a nice little slumber inside your coffin? What happened? Did you finally get bored of sleeping in that pit?"
Still nothing.
Lysander’s eyes moved past her.
His attention settled on the two high-ranking mages who were desperately maintaining a protective barrier around Damon.
The barrier flickered repeatedly under the assault of the ancestral magic.
He could see them trying to move the emperor away from the battlefield.
But Damon wasn’t cooperating.
"I already told you I’m not leaving without my son!"
Damon’s voice thundered across the grounds.
His unstable power shook the surrounding air.
"I don’t care what’s happening here. I’m not leaving Ashton behind!"
He turned toward Hezznine.
"Are you deaf?"
Lysander’s lips curled into a faint smile.
"So that’s the emperor."
Rose’s eyes narrowed.
"You know who he is."
Lysander finally looked at her.
"I said I won’t get the fuck out of here without my son. Are you deaf, Hezznine?"
He paused.
Then he looked at Rose.
"Devil son?"
He tilted his head.
"Who is that?"
Lysander placed a hand against his chest with an exaggerated expression of confusion.
"I genuinely don’t know what you’re talking about, but I have to admit, you flatter me."
Rose laughed.
Her laughter echoed across the battlefield.
Lamia, however, wasn’t amused.
He watched Lysander from behind, still trying to understand what the demon intended to accomplish.
"Are we seriously just going to stand here and watch him?"
Oliver glanced at him.
Lamia continued.
"We all know he’s the devil son. Why are we allowing him to take control of the situation?"
His expression hardened.
"The witches and demons have never been allies. We’re supposed to be enemies."
Oliver didn’t deny it.
The greatest enemies of demons had always been witches.
And among witches, the Phoenix witches were perhaps the most ruthless when it came to demons. Their entire order had been built around eradicating demonic influence and destroying any trace of hell that crossed into their world.
Yet here they were two Phoenix witches behind a demon.
And Lamia was considering working alongside him.
It was absurd.
"I don’t like this," Oliver said.
His voice became more serious.
"You can’t allow yourself to be influenced by a demon. You’re the future of our coven, Lamia. It’s my responsibility to protect you."
Lamia’s jaw tightened.
He really didn’t need another lecture.
Not now.
"You know what? Talking about this is just wasting your saliva."
Oliver frowned.
"I’m not doing anything."
Lamia folded his arms.
"I’m going to watch."
"Watch?"
"Yes."
He looked toward Lysander.
"He’s a demon. I know it’s dangerous to trust one, but he’s completely obsessed with Ashton. He’s also on our side right now."
His expression became firm.
"If we can make him stop this war before more people die, then I’m willing to take that risk."
Oliver stared at him.
Lamia wasn’t joking.
His position was clear.
Anyone who stood beside Noah was his ally.
Anyone who stood against Noah was his enemy.
That was Lamia’s rule.
Simple.
Absolute.
"And what happens when the emperor takes Ashton away?" Oliver asked.
Lamia’s expression changed.
"What?"
"You know that’s what he wants. The emperor intends to take Ashton to the Quintorian Empire."
Oliver’s voice lowered.
"Following Ashton into that empire could put you in even greater danger. You could be making a mistake you won’t be able to undo."
Before Lamia could answer, the ground beneath them suddenly shook.
BOOM!
Both of them staggered.
A strange energy began flowing beneath their feet.
The floor twisted.
The air distorted.
Lamia’s eyes widened.
"What’s that?"
Oliver immediately looked around.
"Dimensional energy."
Lamia’s expression changed.
"You’re feeling it too?"
"Yes."
His face became pale.
"That’s a gate."
A horrifying cry echoed from somewhere in the distance.
The sound of someone screaming.
A student.
Lysander heard it.
His expression changed instantly.
The playful indifference disappeared from his face.
Rose noticed.
And she took advantage of it immediately.
"Scared?"
Her voice became taunting.
"Is your precious man in danger?"
Lysander slowly turned toward her.
Rose’s smile became wicked.
"What would Lucifer say if he saw his precious son turning into a pathetic little—"
Her words abruptly stopped.
Her mouth snapped shut.
She couldn’t speak.
Lysander’s eyes had turned cold.
"Enough."
His voice was terrifyingly calm.
"You’ve said enough for today."
He raised one hand.
"So here’s what happens next."
The air around him darkened.
"You leave that body."
Rose’s expression twisted.
"Or?"
Lysander’s eyes narrowed.
"I change my mind."
His hand suddenly moved upward.
Rose’s body jerked violently.
Her feet lifted off the ground.
"AHHHHH!"
Her body convulsed as though something inside her was being ripped apart.
The spirit possessing her screamed through her mouth.
"Stop!"
Lysander didn’t.
"I’m going to kill her!"
The voice screamed again.
Lamia’s eyes widened.
Rose’s head jerked violently from side to side.
Her eyes rolled backward.
Her fingers clawed at her own throat.
"Get off me!"
The voice screamed again.
Black veins spread across her neck.
The air around her began burning.
Lysander’s magic wasn’t simply attacking Rose.
It was targeting the spirit inside her.
Lamia took a step forward.
But before he could interfere, the spirit spoke again.
"You think you’re going to win?"
Lysander’s eyes narrowed.
"Think again."
The spirit laughed.
Then suddenly, the students who had been running toward the dormitories began screaming.
Lamia’s head snapped toward them.
"What the—?"
Chaos erupted.
Snakes suddenly burst from cracks in the ground, wrapping around students’ legs and biting into their flesh.
Students collapsed screaming.
Others were struck by strange objects that appeared from nowhere.
Some exploded instantly.
Blood splattered across the ground.
Bodies dropped one after another.
The entire school descended into panic.
The spirit was using the students as leverage.
Lamia’s jaw dropped.
It was willing to kill them simply to force Lysander to stop.
"I said stop, Lysander Valmont!"
The voice screamed through Rose.
"And I will stop killing students."
Lysander’s expression remained cold.
He didn’t lower his hand.
He didn’t even look at the dying students.
To him, they were insignificant compared to the one person he cared about.
The only person he would burn the world for.
His angel.
Lamia realized what was about to happen.
If Lysander continued, the spirit might actually kill Rose.
And Lamia couldn’t allow that.
"Lysander!"
Nothing.
"Lysander, enough!"
Still nothing.
Lamia clenched his teeth.
He had no choice.
He stretched his hands toward Rose.
Magic immediately gathered around his fingers.
Oliver’s eyes widened.
"Lamia, what are you doing?"
Lamia ignored him.
His voice became firm as he began chanting.
"Your time inside this soul has passed."
The magic intensified.
"It’s time to leave that body."
His eyes glowed.
"Phasmotus!"
The spell struck Rose.
Her body suddenly flew into the air.
"AHHHHH!"
She screamed as she was thrown backward before crashing violently onto the ground.
Black liquid poured from her mouth.
She coughed.
Then vomited again.
The spirit inside her screamed in agony.
Lamia lowered his hands, breathing heavily.
Silence followed.
Oliver stared at him in complete disbelief.
He knew that spell.
Everyone in the upper circles of magic knew that spell.
But knowing it was one thing.
Being capable of casting it was another.
"How..."
Oliver’s voice was barely audible.
"How do you know that spell?"
Lamia didn’t answer.
His eyes remained fixed on Rose.
The black substance continued dripping from her lips as her body trembled.
Oliver’s expression became suspicious.
"That spell is recorded only in one place."
His gaze sharpened.
"The Book of Shadows."
Lamia finally looked at him.
Oliver’s suspicion grew.
"That book is forbidden."
Before Lamia could respond, another voice suddenly thundered across the battlefield.
"And where is my son?"
Everyone froze.
The voice belonged to Damon.
The emperor stepped out from behind the damaged barrier, his armor covered in cracks and blood, but his eyes were still burning with authority.
"Where is Ashton Lane?"
His gaze swept across the battlefield.
"He is coming home with me."
