In the upcoming days, Karl and Zayn had pretty much not given up in becoming better fathers and husbands.

They had taken every opportunity they could to learn anything new while also finding new ways to make Sunnie feel better during her pregnancy.

On a decent morning, Azure and Maren had gone out to the distant stream to catch some fish. Maren had bothered Azure enough to teach her how to catch some fish, and he had agreed to do so. So he took her out to catch some fish that morning.

While they arrived at the waterside, getting ready to begin their fishing journey, Maren turned to see Karl and Zayn standing behind them.

Azure also turned as they stared at the two of them, surprised and confused as to why they were there.

"What is it?" Azure inquired. "Any problem or...?"

Karl and Zayn smiled as Karl said, "Well, we asked around and they said you’d be a better teacher."

Azure raised an eyebrow. "A better teacher at what, though?" He inquired.

Karl finally said, "Before she delivers, we want to learn how to clean up the cub so we can work towards it." He said, folding his arms. "So... teach us."

"....."

Azure and Maren were quiet. They turned and stared at each other and stared at Karl and Zayn again. They wouldn’t say they were surprised because Karl and Zayn had pretty much been up to this—going around, learning, and doing anything to prepare themselves ahead.

"Are you being serious now?" Azure blinked, asking.

"Of course we are. We’re always serious," Zayn insisted.

Maren folded her arms with a smile as she said, "Okay, then. Leave it to me, Dad. I’ll do the teaching!"

Azure stared down at her with a smile. "If you can, then I guess so...?"

Maren nodded as she stared at the two of them. Karl and Zayn stared at each other and then at Maren. They wondered if the young girl would be able to teach them properly.

But she ended up being their teacher anyway.

Azure sat down comfortably at a distance, enjoying some blueberries he had picked from the side while watching his daughter teach Karl and Zayn how to clean a cub and also clean the cub’s mess.

Maren was rather strict with her teaching. She was like an elder while she taught them the lessons by the waterside with some toy puppet.

"No! Not like that. You’re going to drown the cub even before the bath is over!" She insisted.

"Ah, what is that? Why are you washing the cub’s eyes too? Focus on the back side to clean the mess!"

"No, you don’t do that. You’re being too light. You’re not going to clean anything, and the cub is still going to be smelling!"

"What is that...? Don’t keep the cub upside down while washing. Do you want her dead?"

Maren kept pointing out everything they did wrong as they went on. She was snapping at them every second.

Karl and Zayn had no say. They simply stayed there like obedient apprentices, listening to what she was saying and doing as she said.

Azure, on the other hand, found it funny. He couldn’t stop laughing from where he sat.

Maren continued for a long while until she sighed deeply. She turned and stared at Azure as she said, exhausted, "Papa, I give up. These two truly can’t be taught at all. There’s no hope."

Azure simply sat there laughing. Karl and Zayn turned and stared at Azure.

The two of them cast him a murderous glare as Karl said, "The little girl sure has enough to say."

They shook their heads.

Soon, Azure decided to come and take over. While Maren sat down at a distance eating berries, Azure took over in teaching Karl and Zayn how to get the cleaning done.

It took a while, but he managed to get the two of them to get a hang of it. Although they weren’t perfect at it, they significantly got better within the time period.

Azure folded his arms with a smile. "I think this is decent enough for you two. Maybe tomorrow or something we’ll continue."

Karl and Zayn were already getting excited over what they had learned. They wanted more of the lesson as they turned and stared at Azure.

"Can’t we continue today?" Karl asked.

Azure turned and looked around. "Well, it’s already late, and I still haven’t caught some fish. So...."

"Don’t worry, we’ll assist you to catch more fish. Just teach us some more," Karl insisted.

Azure sighed, folding his arms while contemplating what to do.

While they stood there thinking, a young hedgehog beast male from their tribe rushed into the scene, panting.

They all turned to his direction, recognizing him while wondering what was wrong with him.

"What is it?" Azure asked as he approached them. "Why are you panting? What happened?"

He panted some more, both hands on his lap as he looked up at them. "The female... Sunnie..." He panted.

That caught the attention of everyone who stared in surprise and confusion.

Maren instantly got up to her feet to come stand with them.

"Sunnie? What happened to her?" Karl demanded as he approached. "What’s wrong with her?"

"Speak up. What’s wrong with her?" Zayn insisted while they stared at the young man catching his breath.

After a short while, the young man was able to speak properly and announced to them the news he had come with.

"The female has been taken in for delivery along with Zuna!" He announced. "As we speak now, the two of them are about to give birth to their cubs at the same time!"

As soon as he dropped the news, Karl and Zayn couldn’t stop the smile that appeared on their faces as they gasped.

This was great news that instantly sent their hearts racing with excitement while also making them feel anxious at the same time.

"Is that so...?" Karl looked around as he said, "Then let’s go. Let’s get going now."

Zayn didn’t protest. He nodded immediately as they all began making preparations.

Soon, they had all set off, leaving the streamside while excitedly making their way down back to the tribe where the females were getting ready to deliver.

As soon as they arrived back at the tribe, they were surprised to see everyone standing right before the female’s cave.

Every tribe member knew of this news, and so they were all standing and waiting right before the cave room where the delivery was happening.

They looked anxious, excited, and hopeful while they stopped and waited for the news that would come from this.

As soon as Azure and the rest arrived, the other beast husbands and Little Black approached them.

"Where have you guys been? Don’t you know that the female is inside? She’s about to deliver!" Luka announced, anxious, as if it wasn’t obvious enough.

Karl sighed as he looked ahead. "We just learned... how’s she doing? How long has she been in there? Is she feeling okay?" He had a lot of questions.

Zayn also had the same questions, but he didn’t ask. He simply stood there and listened for the answers.

"She’s okay for now," Eris said, folding his arms. "Nothing unusual. The women are in there taking care of her too... and they haven’t said anything wrong. So she’s okay."

Zayn and Karl sighed, feeling relieved to hear that at least. "And how long has she been in there?" Zayn asked.

"She’s been in there for a while now..." Little Black sighed. "But since she’s delivering for two, I suppose she’d take some time." Little Black cast his cold eyes on Karl and Zayn as if blaming them for all the pains she was going through now.

"....." The two simply stared without anything to say.

Luna and Lune rushed into the scene and held Eris by the leg. "How is Mama doing? Will she be okay?" Luna asked.

"Why is Mama crying? Did anyone hurt her? Who hurt Mama?" Lune inquired as the two cubs stared up at their father, curious.

Eris smiled as he looked down at them, patting them on the hair as he said, "Don’t worry, Mama will be fine. She’s only going through some process where she’ll bring in your little siblings."

Luna’s eyes lit with excitement and confusion. "Huh? Little siblings? Mama is bringing little siblings for us?"

Eris smiled with a nod. "Yes. So let’s wait for Mama and also hope for the best."

Lune blinked as he said, "So we’re getting some younger ones too. Are they going to be smaller than us?"

"Are they also going to be the same color as us?"

"Are they going to look like me?"

The two of them had enough questions to ask. But Eris casually smiled as he squatted down and patted them on the ears. "Let’s just wait and see."

And so they continued waiting for the female’s delivery.
