Chapter 289: 289: Meat.

Evening was approaching, and the two husbands were nowhere to be seen at all.

Sunnie sat down with the twin cubs, Luna and Lune. Luna sat down before her while she made her hair. Sunnie ran her hand through her hair, making it while looking around into the woods, waiting for Karl and Zayn.

The two of them had gone for a while and still hadn’t returned. She was beginning to get worried as to where they were.

"Mama, is the new sibling going to be a boy or a girl?" Lune asked. The twins were asking Sunnie endless questions about the cub she was going to have soon.

Sunnie had no choice but to answer them. "Well, we don’t know yet. I guess we’ll have to see when the little ones come out."

Lune nodded. Zuna sat down close by, watching them.

Luna asked while Sunnie made her hair, "But how is the little one going to come? Where is she now? Who is going to go and get her?" She inquired.

Sunnie smiled as she stared down at Luna. "The little one is in my stomach. When the time comes, we’ll help her get down."

Luna and Lune seemed shocked as they stared at Sunnie in disbelief.

"Huh? Inside your stomach? How is that possible? Can she fit in there? How can the little one survive?" Luna was shocked.

Sunnie smiled as she shook her head. "Well, it’s a long story but..." She guessed she didn’t know how to explain it to the little ones.

"Mama, does that mean I also have one in my stomach?" Lune instantly asked, placing a hand over his stomach.

Sunnie smiled while she shook her head. "Well, no." She couldn’t help but laugh with Zuna.

The two stared at each other while shaking their heads. They guessed the kids sure did have a lot of questions today.

Sunnie continued making Luna’s hair while she looked around the scene. She was still looking out for Karl and Zayn.

"Still looking out for them?" Zuna asked as Sunnie nodded.

"They’ve been out for a while now, and they’re nowhere to be seen. I wonder where they are. They didn’t say where they were going," Sunnie explained, worried.

Zuna sighed as she looked around as well. "I guess so... but I believe they’re alright. Nothing can just happen to them like that. There might be some delays or something, but they’re definitely okay."

Sunnie nodded with a sigh. "I guess so..." She smiled, hoping for the best while she waited.

Soon, she and Zuna proceeded with their girls’ discussion about Zuna’s husband.

Sunnie was curious to know about the two, and she had questions for them. Zuna casually answered, smiling shyly.

Sunnie shook her head. "I guess the little girl is already in love. Look at how you smile so shyly," she shook her head.

Zuna smiled. "Well... not so. I’m just..." The two laughed.

Zuna then decided to ask Sunnie the questions she had. The younger lady was curious to get some information about how to be in a happy married life and how to make your husband love and cherish you.

Sunnie smiled as she shook her head. She didn’t hesitate as she proceeded to give her the advice she had gathered while handling her wild husbands.

The two ladies sat there discussing while laughing in between. Not long after, Eris and Luka approached the scene.

"They still haven’t returned?" Luka asked with both arms folded as Eris bent down to carry his little one, Lune.

Sunnie sighed as she looked around, shaking her head. "Still nothing. I wonder if anything happened to them... is that why they’re taking so much time?"

Eris stared down at her. "Don’t worry. It’s Karl and Zayn—the two most powerful. I doubt anything can happen to them just like that." He said as he looked around the scene. "Maybe they’re just busy with something that they lost track of time."

Sunnie looked around. "I hope so..."

Zuna patted her on the shoulder. "You shouldn’t worry too much. It’s not good for your pregnant state."

Sunnie nodded with a smile. "Okay... I’ll try," she said.

Just then, they heard a sound from a distance.

Confused, they all looked up to see Karl and Zayn approaching the scene from the woods.

Sunnie was surprised. After seeing them, she was certainly surprised to be relieved and happy. But she was rather surprised and confused.

And so was everyone there.

"What is that...?" Luna tilted her head. "What are they carrying?"

Lune blinked from his father’s arms as he said, "Is that... meat?"

And it was.

Karl and Zayn were approaching with a load of meat piled up and tied together. They were coming with them like hunters who had just returned from a long hunting session.

Sunnie was confused as she watched them approach with the huge amount of meat they were carrying.

As they pulled closer, the smell of the raw meat they were carrying hit them as Sunnie quickly closed her nose. She could also perceive the smell from their bodies.

She looked up at the two of them. They looked a mess as well. "This is....?" She was confused.

"Why do you two look and smell like that...?" Luka asked, covering his nose.

Zayn and Karl stared at each other and stared at June, both blinking as they stared back at Sunnie.

"We went to get meat for her," Karl said. "You said you liked these types... so we got a lot of them."

"...." Sunnie was speechless as she stared at the meat in their hands and stared at them. "Huh? I did?"

"Yes, in your conversation earlier. You mentioned it. So we had to go and get them all for you. At such a moment, you need such healthy meat," Zayn explained firmly.

Sunnie was speechless as she stared at them. Zuna and Luka, on the other hand, couldn’t help but burst into laughter. They were in utter disbelief.

"Oh..." Sunnie blinked as she stared down. "But all of these...?"

Zayn and Karl stared at each other and stared back at Sunnie.

Karl said, "I got the better version of the meat. Mine was meticulously picked and gathered. So it’s the best you can have. Take them."

"No, mine is better because I got them at the best moment possible. I also picked the high-quality meats to hunt. So you’re better off with mine," Zayn insisted.

"No, mine is probably better. I mean, look at how healthy it looks," Karl explained.

"Not better than mine at all," Zayn insisted.

And so the two of them proceeded with their bickering. Sunnie and the rest sat there simply staring.

Luna blinked as she said, "They’re at it again..."

Lune nodded in agreement.

Sunnie watched them bicker for a while before the two stared at her and asked, "Which are you going to have?"

Sunnie stared at them and then said, "I think you could go and wash up first... then later we can talk..." Sunnie said.

"..." Zayn and Karl were quiet, staring at themselves and noticing how much of a mess they looked like. They were too busy chasing prey and hunting down meat that they had forgotten to wash up.

"Oh..." They nodded at that. "Then wait."

Immediately, the two of them set off, keeping the meat aside to go and wash up.

With them gone, Zuna smiled as she shook her head, saying, "And you were worried about them. I guess they went to get you some meat." She laughed.

Sunnie smiled as she shook her head. "Truly unpredictable indeed."

That night, the two husbands spent their night around the fire roasting the raw meats to the female’s taste.

They knew the female didn’t take raw meats, so they tried to make it to her taste.

They had summoned Luka to sit with them and observe while they made the meat.

"Am I getting it right?" Karl asked while he turned the meat from side to side. "Is it becoming edible for Sunnie?"

Luka tilted his head as he stared at the meat Karl was making. "If you continue like this... I’m pretty sure you’re going to burn the whole thing."

"....."

Zayn smiled as he did his and asked, "Look at this. Mine is looking better, right?"

Karl stared down at his meat.

"Well..." Luka ran a hand through his chin. "I think looking at it now, it looks more like burnt wood than a meat."

"...." Zayn was speechless as he stared up at Luka. Karl instantly burst into laughter as he shook his head at the comment. "I guess mine is better."

And the two of them continued preparing the meat endlessly while Luka watched them. They were on it for hours until they had finally got it right, at least to an edible extent.

With that, they proceeded to go meet the female so she could have more meat which they had prepared for her.
