Ling Ruonan’s reaction was quite satisfying to Ling Mingrui.

He didn’t say it directly, but Ling Ruonan figured it out. This keen observation naturally pleased Ling Mingrui.

“If Chen Ruchang were to sacrifice his own son, it would definitely be Chen Yining!” Ling Ruonan shared her speculation, “In terms of strategy and scheming, Chen Yining is far inferior to Chen Yijing.”

Ling Mingrui nodded lightly.

“Let’s keep a close watch on how the situation unfolds!” Ling Mingrui said calmly, “Lin Zeping might not express a clear opinion on this matter, while the others have indicated a desire to severely punish the Chen Family members.”

Ling Mingrui’s words made Ling Ruonan realize that the others were indeed ruthless, planning to ruin both Chen Yining and Chen Yijing’s futures. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have unearthed the brothers’ misdeeds.

“Will they just give up and go all out?” Ling Ruonan voiced her concern, “Will they expose everything, regardless of evidence? That’s not their style.”

Ling Ruonan nodded slightly but asked nothing further.

After a moment of silence, Ling Mingrui said again, “During this period, don’t have any contact with the Chen Family members. Use intermediaries for communication to avoid trouble.”

“I understand!” Ling Ruonan quickly nodded in agreement.

“Also, have Xusheng deliver a report on Dragon Rise’s recent operations in the Northwest.”

Ling Mingrui’s instructions made Ling Ruonan’s heart skip a beat, but she still asked nothing, just nodded in agreement.

“I hope they can return safely after entering Tianshan and harvest more precious herbs. As one grows older, the body needs more nourishment!” Ling Mingrui finally smiled as he said this, “Your grandfather’s health also depends on their continuous help, or else everyone would be worried about him.”

Wu Yanning confessed to Ling Ruonan about her past feelings for Luo Xusheng during her younger days and told her that she still held feelings for Luo Xusheng. Because of this, she had a special affection for Luo Ziling.

Wu Yanning’s honesty surprised Ling Ruonan.

She only said that the past was long gone; their children were now around the same age as they once were, and there wasn’t much left to dwell on.

Wu Yanning asked Ling Ruonan about her thoughts on Luo Ziling’s marriage. Whether she wanted Ouyang Feifei to marry into the Luo Family or was open to letting Luo Ziling be with Yang Qingyin, giving the young ones the freedom to choose while also satisfying the elders.

“It seems the Yang and Ling families are inclined towards an alliance,” Wu Yanning shared her speculation.

“I don’t want the tragedy of our past to repeat itself on my son,” Ling Ruonan said with a bitter smile, “Therefore, I plan not to interfere in Ziling’s marriage. I’ll let him choose for himself. No matter whom he chooses, I’ll willingly be her mother-in-law.”

“Who knows, you might end up with a lot of daughters-in-law!” Wu Yanning joked, “Ziling is so outstanding, with so many girls who like him. Some might even be willing to be with him without a title.”

“I don’t want that to happen!” Ling Ruonan shook her head in refusal, “I hope he achieves significant success in the future, and his private life shouldn’t affect his prospects.”

“True enough!” Wu Yanning didn’t comment further.

After chatting for a while, the sisters-in-law went their separate ways home.

What surprised Ling Ruonan was that when she got home, she saw Luo Xusheng had already returned.

The husband and wife secluded themselves in their room to discuss recent events and important matters.

After hearing Ling Ruonan’s recount of Ling Mingrui’s instructions, Luo Xusheng understood what was going on.

He told Ling Ruonan he knew how to handle the situation.

Ling Ruonan didn’t push for more, leaving Luo Xusheng to handle it as he saw fit.

If Chen Ruchang’s condition worsens and he quickly passes away, we can be at ease!”

“The Chen Family is utterly detestable,” Luo Xusheng said resentfully, “Not only did they cause my mother’s death, but they also tried to harm my son. We won’t let them get away with this.”

“They won’t die a good death!” Ling Ruonan replied with certainty.

Luo Xusheng didn’t leave until around midnight.
