Chapter 67 - 66: A Month in a Flash, A Massive Enhancement

Within the enormous space, seats were arranged in neat, orderly rows. Between them were desks, inlaid with what was clearly Wizard Technology, that could transform. Each was spaced more than ten meters apart. A quick glance suggested the room was at least half the size of a football field.

Wang Ya emerged from the Witch Array and found himself standing directly at his assigned seat.

He was stunned. ’What a magnificent sight.’ Even if the Seventh Teaching Building was massive, it couldn’t possibly contain such an impossibly large space on a single floor.

The only explanation was a spatial Witch Array, one that extended and folded space... ’It’s not impossible,’ he thought. The Teleportation Witch Array used to navigate the building was, after all, an application of Space Power.

Tiny flecks of blue light glittered in Wang Ya’s pupils. The five-meter-long desk was less of a desk and more of a personal laboratory workbench.

Within the fine seams of its construction, circuits for Particle Energy transmission glowed. His Eye of Truth revealed that the workbench could also change its form, creating a small, enclosed space capable of shielding its user from radiation.

This was undoubtedly to allow the Wizard Students in the Extraordinary Course to practice and experiment with the principles they were learning.

Wang Ya tried to analyze the Extraordinary Knowledge used in its design, but he quickly gave up. He couldn’t begin to comprehend the classroom’s construction, let alone the fundamental principles behind the workbench.

It was far beyond anything he could grasp at his current level.

One by one, other Wizard Students began to appear at their own stations. They all wore identical black Wizard Robes, each emblazoned with the emblem of the Dark Land on the chest.

They were all new faces Wang Ya had never seen before. The auras of the few Wizard Students nearest to him were universally stronger than his own. They were all Level 1 Wizard Apprentices.

’Aside from the freshmen from the Wizard Clans,’ he mused, ’there can’t be many from my cohort who qualified for an Extraordinary Course so quickly.’

"The entry period has now closed. The Energy Science classroom is sealed. All Wizard Students will please remain silent. Do not cause a disturbance."

A robotic voice emanated from the rows of cycling light tubes on the ceiling, echoing throughout the vast space.

Wang Ya noticed a recessed opening appear on his workbench. A moment later, a play of light and shadow emerged from it, coalescing into a sharp, virtual-reality projection.

His expression shifted, filled with awe. The level of innovation in Wizard Technology was clearly far beyond what he had imagined.

’If even I have access to this kind of Wizard Technology, what incredible heights have the more powerful Wizards reached? What other marvels of Wizard Technology have they kept hidden?’

The projection displayed the figure of a man in a gray-black Wizard Robe. He had a full head of white hair and a deeply wrinkled face, but his eyes shone with vigor, reminding Wang Ya somewhat of the Tuta Wizard.

In a classroom this vast, it would be impossible for every Wizard to see the Teaching Wizard on the central dais.

Wang Ya was amazed by this teaching method. He then watched as the old Wizard pulled a feather pen from his sleeve and began to write on the lectern. The projection immediately zoomed in, magnifying the script.

His raspy voice echoed in everyone’s ears.

"Today’s lesson will primarily cover what Energy is, the differences between its various forms, and the distinct roles they play..."

Time flowed by, and Wang Ya became completely immersed in the Extraordinary Knowledge the old Wizard imparted.

He was finally beginning to understand the fundamental difference between studying from Extraordinary Witch Books and taking a formal Extraordinary Course.

The course was comprehensive and the key concepts were explained with perfect clarity. As long as one had a basic foundation, it was easy to understand and connect all the disparate pieces of knowledge.

Different forms of Energy exist in the world, each with unique properties. Some are highly active, with a high frequency; others are inert, with a low frequency. And there are even forms of Energy that possess both qualities.

Particles are the essence of Energy. The lecture covered everything from the macroscopic to the microscopic, from the superficial to the profound. There were many methods to utilize and influence Particle Energy, but the most suitable for a Wizard was their own intrinsic Extraordinary Spiritual Power.

To use the immaterial to influence the material, and thus achieve the Extraordinary—and in the process, to come to know all that was previously unknown.

A union of mind and matter!

Wang Ya’s eyes grew brighter and brighter. In front of him, the workbench automatically transformed, erecting four walls to form a perfect cube that sealed him off from the outside.

Still, a small amount of fluctuating Particle Energy inevitably leaked out.

The other Wizard Students in the classroom turned their gazes toward him in surprise. The practical portion of the class hadn’t even begun, yet someone had already triggered the workbench’s transformation.

’Could it be? Did that Wizard Freshman have some kind of epiphany? A breakthrough? That’s way too fast. We’ve only just settled in.’

At the very front, the few Wizard Freshmen with the most outstanding grasp of Energy Science wore expressions of shock and uncertainty, their curiosity piqued by Wang Ya’s identity.

On the dais, Wizard Bentley’s gaze fell upon Wang Ya’s station. A flicker crossed his wrinkled face, and he nodded.

His gaze then swept back over the other students, and the murmuring classroom instantly fell silent again.

[System Alert: Particle Energy metamorphosis complete. Operational Speed increased by ten percent. Intensity increased by thirty percent.]

Amid a flickering glow, Wang Ya opened his eyes. He brought the fluctuating Particle Energy around his body under the control of his Spiritual Power, where it gradually dissipated into nothing.

A look of delight surfaced in his eyes.

He truly had an epiphany. The Particle Energy within his body began to circulate on its own, and the parts of the process that had once felt clumsy now flowed together with perfect, natural ease. Casting his Witchcraft would be faster now.

Likewise, the intensity of his Particle Energy had risen to a new level.

Faintly, he could sense a distinct threshold—the one that marked a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice.

Once one’s Spiritual Power reached the required standard, their internal Particle Energy would also undergo a transformation.

It was as if Wang Ya had just completed half of that process ahead of schedule.

’Formal instruction in an Extraordinary Discipline really makes an undeniable difference.’

A Wizard Influence like this, accumulating knowledge and resources over time, would produce Wizards whose Power and foundations were the strongest among their peers at the same Level.

’Those fifty Magic Stones were more than worth it.’

Wang Ya immediately resumed his deep dive into the contents of his Witch Books.

Each of the twelve remaining Witch Books offered him significant gains.

Combined with the systematic instruction from his Extraordinary Discipline course, all these pieces of Extraordinary Knowledge began to connect and reinforce one another.

Wang Ya’s understanding and his foundational knowledge steadily improved, becoming both solid and robust.

「A month passed in this manner.」

When Wang Ya emerged from his personal laboratory, his entire demeanor—from his spiritual bearing to the aura he exuded—was completely different from when he had first arrived in the Dark Land.

He had acquired the coolly detached temperament common among Wizards. His gaze remained perpetually indifferent, and his skin, from the prolonged lack of sunlight, had taken on a somewhat sickly white pallor.

His gaze, from eyes marked by a mole just beneath one of them, fell upon the experiment log on the wall.

He had postponed the seven-day dissection experiment until now. The advantage was that he now possessed absolute confidence in his ability to complete the Extraordinary Dissection and Extraordinary Extraction of Low-tier Extraordinary Creatures.
