The Villainess Is My Cute Daughter
Chapter 433: Successful Business
The first actual customer walked up to the stall and picked up one of the thick sausages. Adrian looked at the guy and he was almost as tall as Adrian himself. Though, Adrian didn’t say anything and just watched him.
The guy smelled the sausage, nodded in approval, and then moved over to inspect the fresh cuts of meat. One by one, he grabbed multiple pieces of marbled beef, inspecting the mana density before nodding again.
"Okay. What is the difference between these two?" the mage asked.
"Well, this one is salted and dried to an extent," Adrian said, pointing at the sausages. "So it has a much longer shelf life as long as you keep it in a dry place."
He pointed at the fresh cuts of marbled meat on the other side.
"As for these, you would need to put it in a place that is extremely cold... something that can freeze the meat. That is the only way to keep it perfectly fresh. If not, the meat will eventually spoil."
The guy nodded. "Okay then. I will take these tubes."
"You can call them sausages."
"Okay. Give me the sauce... ages."
Hearing this butchered pronunciation, Adrian didn’t even bother correcting him.
"Okay," Adrian said. "What do you have that you can trade? The number of sausages that you get will depend entirely on the value of what you give me."
The guy patted his robes. "Well, I have these."
He looked around. "Do you have an empty table?"
Adrian nodded. Right beside his meat stall, he snapped his fingers and pulled another empty wooden table out of his spatial ring.
The guy walked over and brought out a bunch of weapons from his own spatial ring. There were basically six weapons in total. Four swords that all looked slightly similar to each other but with distinct runic etchings, a pair of gauntlets that looked pretty simple and lightweight, and a hammer.
The hammer was extremely long, and the head of the weapon was ridiculously huge.
Adrian picked them up one by one and inspected them. Since he couldn’t exactly inspect them properly without using his system, he just looked at the guy and didn’t really say anything. He sent the first sword directly into his Dungeon Link to get the system appraisal, and then brought it right back out a second later before nodding.
The mage looked at Adrian suspiciously at first. He picked up the returned sword and inspected the weapon himself just to make sure it hadn’t been swapped out. After seeing that it was indeed his exact weapon, he relaxed.
Just like that, Adrian sent all of the weapons into his dungeon one by one to check their stats and abilities before nodding and accepting the trade.
For those six weapons, Adrian started picking up the thick sausages.
"One sausage for this sword, two sausages for the second sword and one sausage for the third sword."
He looked at the fourth sword. "Three sausages for the fourth sword."
He looked up at the guy. "The gauntlets are good, but the internal runes are slightly damaged, so one sausage for the pair of gauntlets. And the hammer is top quality. So I will give you ten sausages for the hammer."
Adrian grabbed a large bundle of the sausages, added in one extra as a bonus, and smiled at the guy before handing the whole heavy bunch over to him.
The guy nodded, smiled back in satisfaction, and walked back to his dormitory.
And just like that, Adrian officially began his business.
He stood there under the sun and casually traded his monster meat for various magical artifacts, potions, runic plates, and even spell books. He did it from late morning; around ten o’clock, all the way to six in the evening.
Once he was finally done and the crowd had died down, Karina walked over and smiled at him.
"How did it go?"
"Well, it went really great," Adrian said, stretching his back. "I got a lot of useful things."
"That is good." she said, and before she could even ask for her cut, Adrian pointed at the table.
"All of the fresh meat is completely gone, so I can only give you the sausages."
"That is exactly what I wanted," Karina beamed. "Something that I can store easily without having to worry too much about spoilage."
"That is great then."
Adrian picked up five massive sausages and handed them to her.
"Each one of these sausages is around half a kilogram. So in total, that is two and a half kilos. It is much more than I promised you."
Karina hugged the bundle to her chest and nodded eagerly. "Thanks a lot!"
"What happened to the guys from the other kingdoms?" Adrian asked. "Did they leave already?"
"Yes," she nodded. "They requested me to send them off immediately... It looked like all of them wanted to rest here, but after hearing what you said, they didn’t feel like taking chances."
Adrian chuckled. "Wow. Not a single person stayed back?"
Karina shook her head. "Nope. Not a single one."
Adrian just laughed out loud. "Okay. I don’t even know what to say about that."
He looked around the empty street. "Do you know where my people are?"
"Well, after they came over to you for lunch since you told them to, they went back to shopping. They came to me a few minutes ago in the main hall where you first entered the Magic Tower. Everyone is waiting there right now, including your family."
Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Why did they go there instead of coming here?"
"Well, they are all pretty tired. And the knights actually thought that you were planning to go to the other continent tonight, so they were a little early." She leaned in slightly. "As for your family, I believe they were just acting so that the kights from the other territories wouldn’t get suspicious of your real plan."
Adrian nodded. "Okay. Did no one from the other kingdoms question where I was or what I was doing?"
"Well, they did," she said.
