Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Charm Fei Zhao 7

Behind the secret door was a massive cavern. Vines hanging from the stalactites were entwined with desiccated skeletons, which glowed a ghastly white under the eerie green phosphorus fire.

In the blood pool at the center, dozens of dark purple Bone-breaking Grass stalks squirmed as if they were alive, their roots tightly wrapped around the skeletons of cubs.

Thorns on the grass’s leaves dripped dark red beads of blood, which fell into the pool and created concentric ripples.

"Just three more batches of cub blood, and Lord Red can be resurrected!"

A member of the Fox Clan in a red robe stood with his back to them.

The unconscious cub in his hands had its wrist slit, and blood dripped continuously from its fingertips into the blood pool.

The dark purple Bone-breaking Grass twitched greedily, its leaves glowing with an unnatural red light.

It converted the blood into wisps of golden Life Energy, which snaked down the roots toward the center of the blood pool.

A bizarre stone statue of the God of Fertility was half-submerged in the bloody water.

Su An’an’s gaze locked onto the statue’s eyes. As it absorbed the blood, they began to glow faintly with a crimson light, as if they were about to open.

"Red eyes, a statue..."

She suddenly recalled a dusty record from the Royal Family’s secret archives, and a chill shot through her. "This was carved by the Black Priest."

Fei Zhao’s pupils contracted into slits. "What?"

"That’s not a god. It’s an evil creature cultivated by the Black Priest from the flesh and bones of ninety-nine Holy Females!"

Su An’an’s voice trembled. "It can convert and reshape the Life Energy it absorbs."

"Back then, Hong Chengtian stole this research to create the Destiny Snake!"

The tip of Fei Zhao’s tail went rigid. "So this Bone-breaking Grass..."

"Is the medium."

Su An’an stared at the grass leaves converting blood into Energy, her voice dropping to a whisper:

"The cubs’ blood is filtered and purified through them, then ultimately channeled to the statue."

Her gaze shifted to the statue’s bulging abdomen, where the faint, blurry outline of a humanoid figure was visible.

It was slowly squirming and taking shape in the bloody water, like a malignant tumor about to burst from the "womb."

Suddenly, the statue’s pupils swiveled, and its crimson gaze instantly locked onto Su An’an and Fei Zhao, who were hiding in the shadows.

"Who’s there?!"

Chi Ya whipped his head around, his murky green eyes widening in shock.

He stared at the pink-haired female and the black-haired Beast Husband before him, failing for a moment to recognize the familiar faces beneath their disguises.

Just then, the old chieftain of the Broken Bone Tribe, leading a patrol of male beasts, burst through the secret door and into the cavern.

A guard shouted in panic, "Chieftain! All the guards at the Slave Camp have been killed! There’s something wrong with these two outsiders!"

The old chieftain’s expression changed drastically, his tattooed face twisting into a scowl.

His gaze swept back and forth between Su An’an and Fei Zhao before he erupted in fury.

"Who the hell are you? How dare you cause trouble in the Broken Bone Tribe!"

Fei Zhao sneered. His dark red fox tails suddenly fanned out, and a wave of phosphorus fire erupted from them.

The pink Divine Light around Su An’an also burst forth, its golden radiance piercing the darkness.

"Crown Princess Su An’an and the Nine-tailed Red Fox, Fei Zhao?!"

Chi Ya, recognizing their true identities, roared through gritted teeth, "How dare you ruin Lord Red’s plans!"

"You talk too much."

Fei Zhao couldn’t be bothered to waste words with him. The Phosphorus Powder had already formed a sharp Light Blade, shooting straight for Chi Ya’s throat.

The chieftain roared, and the tattoos all over his body lit up with a blood-red glow.

He and his patrol charged at Fei Zhao like madmen. "Kill them! Sacrifice them to the God of Fertility!"

A cold glint flashed in Fei Zhao’s eyes. Nine fiery red fox phantoms transformed into afterimages, piercing through the chests of the patrol members like lightning. ℴℴ𝘮

Blood splattered onto the stalactites. His sharp claws had already seized the chieftain’s throat as he said sinisterly:

"A mongrel with a twisted bloodline like you is worthy of being my Female Mother’s Beast Husband? Die!"

"CRACK!"

With a sharp snap, the chieftain’s neck was broken. His body fell like a rag doll into the blood pool, sending up a crimson splash.

"You’re next!"

Fei Zhao looked coldly at Chi Ya. Nine streams of Fox Fire, like crimson lightning, shot toward him, scorching the very air in their path.

Chi Ya gave a savage grin and crushed a Bone Talisman in his hand. The talisman’s ashes fell into the blood pool, which began to bubble with bloody foam.

"The likes of you can’t even touch me!"

The blood pool suddenly began to boil violently. The eyes of the God of Fertility statue erupted with a blinding red light, bathing the entire cavern in a glow that made it look like a blood-red hell.

The skeletons hanging on the cavern walls began to tremble, then rained down on the two of them like a shower of bones.

"Fei Zhao!"

Su An’an’s Divine Light instantly formed a pink barrier, blocking the whistling bone fragments.

"Watch out for the statue! It’s absorbing the power of the blood pool!"

Chi Ya stood in the middle of the blood pool, laughing maniacally, the hem of his robe stained crimson by the bloody mist.

"Before a god, you are nothing but ants! Now be good and become sacrifices for Lord Red’s resurrection!"

Before he finished speaking, a fissure suddenly split open the statue’s abdomen, and an invisible suction force erupted.

The world spun around them. Su An’an and Fei Zhao were violently dragged into a void and thrown hard onto the ground in a desolate canyon, sharp stones digging into their palms.

Chi Ya’s maniacal laughter echoed from the void, laced with malicious glee.

"Welcome to Illusion Valley. Do enjoy the ’blessing’ of the God of Fertility!"

Fei Zhao fell to his knees, his body convulsing violently. A sickening crunching sound came from his bones as his body began to shrink rapidly.

In the blink of an eye, he had transformed into the shape of a young fox, his fluffy tail drooping limply on the ground.

"Fei Zhao?!" Su An’an reached for him, but only managed to grasp a handful of dissipating Phosphorus Powder.

The surrounding scenery twisted and changed, finally settling on a gloomy cavern.

Nine young female foxes were chained to stone pillars. They had features similar to Gu Xue, but their faces were currently twisted in agony.

The altar in the center of the cavern glowed with a bloody light. Bone tubes connected to their wrists, continuously siphoning blood to the girl at the very center.

A young Gu Xue.

"N-No!"

Little Gu Xue trembled, forced to watch as her sisters withered away one by one. "Big sister! Little sister!"

Amid her cries, the other nine bodies turned to withered bones.

Only her pupils were dyed blood-red, and a blinding phosphorescent light burst from her tail.

The scene tore apart, and Su An’an stumbled into a new nightmare.

A young Fei Zhao was chained to a stone platform, his dark red fur soaked in blood.

A Priest from the Red Fox Tribe used a Bone Knife to slice open his tail, the blood flowing down a groove into the altar.

"Mother!" the little fox whimpered in pain, his pupils dilating from blood loss.

Beside the stone platform, an adult Gu Xue was forced to her knees, her hands bound in bone shackles.

She could only watch helplessly as her young son suffered. "Zhao, close your eyes! Don’t look!"

Su An’an rushed madly toward the stone platform but was repelled by an invisible barrier.

She beat uselessly at the air, forced to watch as little Fei Zhao’s pupils turned the same blood-red as Gu Xue’s in his agony.

"Quite the show, isn’t it?"

Chi Ya’s voice echoed from the void, filled with twisted glee. "This is the God of Fertility’s favorite drama: making the Prey taste the depths of despair over and over again!"

The blood mist coalesced into a phantom image of him. "So what if Gu Xue escaped the Broken Bone Tribe?"

He pointed at the altar, laughing wildly. "Her son has returned, and he’ll become a sacrifice for the god all the same!"

Su An’an gritted her teeth and pulled out a bone tablet. The bone fragment inside it burst with Golden Light.

She sliced open her palm, letting her blood soak the tablet. "Fei Zhao! Look at me!"

The Golden Light pierced through the Illusion like a sharp sword. The young fox trembled as he looked up, then stumbled into Su An’an’s arms.

Su An’an held him tightly. "You’re strong now. Strong enough to protect everyone!"

The young fox in her arms gradually returned to his human form. Traces of red still lingered in Fei Zhao’s pupils.

He gripped Su An’an’s hand tightly. "Let’s fight our way out and destroy everything!"
