[You have performed a successful Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Ceremony. You have completed the creation of the Five Ghosts Combat Team. Undead Knowledge +25.]

A crisp system notification chimed in Gu Su’s ears. The weight on his chest was instantly lifted, and he let out a long sigh of relief, a relieved smile gracing his features.

He knew that the Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Ceremony, which he had been preparing for so long, had finally succeeded. All his previous effort and caution had not been in vain.

Without lingering, Gu Su turned and walked out of the Graveyard Demon’s range. Standing on the open ground outside, he stared straight ahead with a hint of anticipation. He raised his right hand, pointed at the empty space before him, and issued a command with a confident tone.

The next second, the harsh, heavy roar of a car engine suddenly erupted, shattering the surrounding silence.

Immediately after, a dense mass of Black Fog appeared out of thin air in front of Gu Su. The fog roiled and churned, exuding a strange, cold Yin aura, as if it were a gateway to another, unknown world.

A moment later, an off-road vehicle emanating an aura of both the Undead and the apocalypse burst out of the Black Fog. Its wheels rumbled dully against the ground, and the bone components of its chassis glinted coldly in the dim light. It was the very same vehicle that had been buried underground to complete the Spirit Communication binding.

The off-road vehicle came to a steady stop before Gu Su. Seated on it were his five Elite Skeleton Warriors. They maintained their upright postures, hands gripping their weapons, looking as if they were fused to the vehicle itself.

The five Elite Skeleton Warriors moved swiftly, leaping off the vehicle in unison. Their feet hit the ground with a synchronized clatter of bones, and they stood steadily before Gu Su, awaiting his orders.

The moment they landed, however, the Spirit Communication-bound vehicle blurred into an afterimage and zipped back into the nearby Black Fog. The fog then slowly dissipated as if it had never been there, leaving only a faint trace of Yin Qi on the ground.

Watching this sudden scene unfold, the smile on Gu Su’s face froze. An exasperated look replaced it, and the corner of his mouth twitched.

’I never expected the Spirit Communication-bound vehicle to just take off on its own,’ he thought. ’It completely defies logic.’

He frowned in thought for a moment but didn’t dwell on it. Waving his hand in the air, he issued the summoning command again.

Almost instantly, the familiar Black Fog reappeared. The vehicle that had just vanished drove steadily out of the fog, stopping precisely in front of the five Elite Skeleton Warriors. With perfect coordination, the warriors turned and boarded it.

The vehicle’s engine roared to life, and it sped away, carrying them off. Its speed was astonishing, far exceeding Gu Su’s expectations, leaving behind only a blur of Black Fog and dissipating Yin Qi.

Even after witnessing the vehicle’s incredible speed, Gu Su was still full of questions. He remained completely in the dark about the specific Traits of the vehicle after the Spirit Communication.

He didn’t hesitate, raising his hand to summon it once more. The Five Ghosts Combat Team quickly returned in the off-road vehicle, stopping steadily before him without the slightest hesitation.

This time, Gu Su didn’t just stand by and watch. He strode forward and opened the vehicle’s information panel, determined to figure out exactly what changes the Spirit Communication Ceremony had wrought.

After reviewing the information, Gu Su couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret.

He suddenly realized that buying so many repaired vehicles from the factory had been a poor investment.

After undergoing the Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Ceremony, the off-road vehicle had become completely bound to the five Elite Skeleton Warriors. It was now an inseparable part of them, no longer a mere mode of transport.

The vehicle’s internal structure had undergone a fundamental change, making it completely different from when he’d bought it at the factory.

The most obvious change was that its operational range was no longer limited to the ground.

The original vehicle could only drive on land. Now, however, the Spirit Communication-bound vehicle could not only travel at high speeds on land but could also traverse freely between the Yin and Yang Realms. That strange Black Fog from before was a spatial fluctuation caused by its passage between the two realms.

Gu Su knew that traveling between the Yin and Yang Realms would consume a great deal of Yin Qi. Moreover, the Underworld itself was fraught with unknown dangers and uncertainties.

But it was undeniable that the vehicle’s speed was absurdly fast, far exceeding the limits of any ordinary car.

More importantly, it could reach almost any location. Whether rugged mountain paths or desolate wastelands, it could traverse them with ease. He no longer had to worry about terrain being impassable, which massively increased its utility.

Beyond that, the vehicle’s power system had also changed dramatically.

The engine, which originally required Twisted Fuel, could now run on Yin Qi thanks to the power of the Spirit Communication.

It could also improve its quality by devouring corpses, Undead remains, and even other strange and special items. The progress was slow, but it was definitely happening.

’No wonder that guy sold the [Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Record] as a Golden Finger,’ he mused. ’This thing really has some serious power behind it.’

At this thought, the corner of Gu Su’s mouth twitched as he cursed inwardly.

’In that case, didn’t I completely waste my money on that [Twisted Fuel Processing Machine] I bought?’

’Even all those other vehicles I bought from the factory seem redundant now.’

A suspicion began to form in Gu Su’s mind.

He suspected that as long as he had a vehicle’s shell—even one without any internal parts—he could use the Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Ceremony to bind an Elite Skeleton Warrior to it. Then, by relying on the vehicle’s ability to devour corpses and install special components, he could gradually build out its internal structure, eventually forming a complete Spirit Communication-bound vehicle.

"What a waste."

Gu Su muttered, his tone tinged with resignation, but his expression showed little actual regret.

’I may have wasted some resources, but the rewards are more than worth it. I got what I wanted in the end.’

Gu Su quickly pushed aside his grumbling. His expression grew resolute once more as he turned and strode back toward the Graveyard Demon.

’Now that I’ve confirmed the Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Ceremony is viable and figured out the Traits of the bound vehicles, it’s time to process the rest of them and complete their bindings.’

After all, hanging the other vehicles on the Graveyard Demon’s outer walls or parking them in the open had only ever been temporary solutions born of necessity.

But now that he had a better method, things were about to change.

’I can’t let all this good material go to waste.’
