"Come here!"
Gu Su stood at the edge of the Graveyard Demon’s Main Cemetery Area and waved to a few idle Ordinary Skeletons wandering aimlessly nearby.
He then pointed to an empty spot behind a few large Gravepiles in the Main Cemetery Area. "Dig a pit here. Yes, right in this spot. Make it just big enough to fit an SUV. It doesn’t need to be too deep."
Without a moment’s hesitation, the Skeletons moved forward and got to work.
Though they had no tools, they dug rapidly with their hard Bone Claws. Before long, they had excavated a moderately sized pit of suitable depth—just large enough to carefully push one of the modified SUVs inside.
As the Skeletons worked together to carefully push one of the SUVs into the pit, Gu Su turned and ordered a nearby Undead to fetch ten portions of Pure Yang Chicken Blood and a whole rooster.
The Undead returned shortly with the materials.
Gu Su motioned for his subordinate to cook the rooster until it was half-done—the skin slightly yellow, the inside still tinged with blood. This would preserve the maximum amount of its Yang Qi.
He kept the ten portions of Pure Yang Chicken Blood with him; they had another important use.
Once the rooster was cooked and delivered, Gu Su picked up the container of Pure Yang Chicken Blood, walked over to the SUV by the pit, and began to apply it carefully.
He precisely applied five portions to the seats where the Elite Skeleton Warriors would sit. The dark-red blood trickled down the vehicle’s bone-adorned frame, tracing eerie patterns.
He spread another four portions evenly over the hubs and treads of the four wheels, making sure to cover every inch.
With the final portion, Gu Su squatted down, dipped his finger in the blood, and painstakingly wrote a long, esoteric string of runes on the hood of the SUV.
This string of runes was the only script recorded in the *Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Record*, and it contained the core Power of the Spirit Communication Ceremony.
Given his current mastery of this Spirit Communication Technique, Gu Su didn’t dare alter a thing. Even a single misplaced stroke could cause the Ceremony to fail. He could only meticulously copy the runes exactly as they appeared in the record, terrified of making the slightest error.
Once the runes were complete, Gu Su straightened up and gently placed the half-cooked rooster onto the rune-covered hood, positioning it carefully.
He glanced around, his gaze sweeping over the Skeletons by the pit, the blood-smeared vehicle, and the remaining materials. He hesitated. ’Something’s still missing,’ he thought, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. He decided against sending for more Pure Yang Chicken Blood or rooster meat.
Just then, a thought struck him.
Earlier today, upon returning from the processing plant to the Graveyard Demon’s domain, he had glanced at the Yin Soul Shop from afar and noticed it had new items in stock. He’d been too preoccupied with preparations for the Five Ghosts Spirit Communication to take a closer look.
Now, however, the thought returned to him.
Without further hesitation, he turned and strode toward the Yin Soul Shop.
He stopped before the Yin Soul Shop and looked inside. Three items of varying styles were neatly arranged on the counter, each exuding a faint Yin Qi.
One of them was an irregularly shaped white bone object that looked like the tooth and jaw of some large creature. A closer look revealed it to be a shark’s jawbone, forcibly extracted.
Gu Su’s gaze was instantly captured by the item. Without a moment’s hesitation, he reached out and picked it up. It was cold and hard to the touch, and a faint, ferocious aura clung to its surface.
[Man-eating Shark Bone (White): The tooth and jawbone taken from the mouth of a shark that has eaten a living person. In addition to the shark’s ferocious aura, it also carries the Resentment of the deceased (Price: 5 Gold Coins).]
’This is it!’
The moment he read the description, it all clicked. Gu Su instantly understood what had been missing.
His idea of turning the vehicle into a tomb was correct, but the Ceremony was missing a key catalyst.
A sufficiently ferocious aura.
This was especially true for his ten Elite Skeleton Warriors. They were Elites forged through countless real battles, each one shrouded in a thick, ferocious aura—a razor’s edge honed through endless combat.
If the Ceremony’s catalyst wasn’t ferocious enough, it would fail to resonate with the Warriors’ own auras. The entire Spirit Communication Ceremony’s power would be drastically reduced, and it might even fail completely.
Having figured this out, Gu Su wasted no more time. He took out five Gold Coins and tossed them onto the Yin Soul Shop’s counter with a crisp clink.
Then, clutching the Man-eating Shark Bone, he turned and strode back toward the SUV in the pit, a newfound certainty in his eyes.
The five Elite Skeleton Warriors were still seated in the SUV as instructed, their postures erect, hands clutching their weapons. Not a flicker of movement showed in their empty eye sockets.
Gu Su walked to the edge of the pit, leaned over, and placed the Man-eating Shark Bone firmly on the hood next to the rooster. The bone, the rooster, and the runes now lay together, complementing one another and faintly exuding a strange, ferocious aura.
With everything in place, Gu Su took a deep breath to compose himself. He snapped his head up and roared at the SUV and the Elite Skeleton Warriors in the pit, his voice booming with unquestionable authority: "Offer!"
As the word left his lips, he reached out, pushed the half-cooked rooster into the center of the runes on the hood, and closed his eyes. His lips began to move rapidly, chanting the Spirit Communication Spell from the *Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Record*.
The Spell’s syllables were strange and esoteric. As Gu Su chanted, the words slowly spread, hanging in the air above the entire cemetery.
As the Spell resounded, the surrounding Yin Qi answered its Summoning. It surged endlessly from every corner of the Graveyard Demon’s domain, a gray tide that tightly enveloped the five Elite Skeleton Warriors and the SUV in the pit.
An invisible Power then began to rise, dragging them down into the dirt at the bottom of the pit.
The dirt at the pit’s edge, the Corroding Mycelium spreading from underground, and the Ghost Moss covering the nearby Tombstones and Gravepiles all seemed to gain a Life of their own, surging forward to cover the hole.
They buried the SUV, the Elite Skeleton Warriors, the Man-eating Shark Bone, and the rooster meat deep underground, leaving no trace. It was as if the vehicle and the five Elite Skeleton Warriors had never been there at all.
But Gu Su didn’t stop. He knew this was the most critical moment of the entire Five Ghosts Spirit Communication Ceremony. ’The slightest mistake now,’ he thought, ’and all my preparations will be for nothing. The Elite Skeleton Warriors could be damaged, and everything will be lost.’
He continued chanting the Spell, carefully guiding the surrounding Yin Qi to seep into the ground and nourish the buried vehicle and Elite Skeleton Warriors. He began to walk in a steady circle around the buried spot, his expression solemn, not daring to let his focus waver for an instant.
One circle, two, three... The instant he completed the seventh circle, a crisp DING suddenly rang in his ear.
