"Sir, you have a visitor."

Just as Gu Su was examining the cockpit, Crow’s Caw flew in swiftly.

"Who is it?"

Hearing this, Gu Su’s face showed a hint of confusion as he asked reflexively.

He had only just arrived in Ghost Valley and knew no one here. He certainly hadn’t expected a visitor to come calling, and couldn’t help but feel a mix of curiosity and vigilance.

"I’m not sure. Judging by their clothes and demeanor, they look like players from one of the nearby docked Mobile Cities."

Crow’s Caw carefully recalled the appearance of the people outside and reported the facts without any wild guesses.

Gu Su gently stroked his chin with his fingertips, thinking silently for a moment.

’Whatever their intentions, hiding is not an option. I might as well go out and see for myself to figure out their purpose.’

Having made up his mind, he nodded at Crow’s Caw and said, "I’ll go take a look."

Gu Su then turned and walked down the stairs from the wall, his steps light as he headed toward the main gate of the Graveyard Demon.

As he passed the Yin Fire Heap, he glanced over instinctively. The pile of Attributeless junk materials he had bought in bulk from the Endless Ghost Wall had already been methodically sorted into broad categories by Bone Ash. Metal, Wood, broken parts, and the like were all neatly arranged.

Bone Ash was squatting amidst the piles of materials, intently picking out items that were still relatively intact and might be useful.

Gu Su had always been quite satisfied with Bone Ash’s efficiency. Seeing this, he gave a subtle nod of approval without going over to disturb him, his pace unwavering as he continued quickly toward the gate.

He was still thinking about the visitors outside and didn’t want to keep them waiting too long.

At that moment, outside the main gate of the Graveyard Demon, several players stood waiting side by side. They occasionally looked up, sizing up the dilapidated and strange-looking Mobile City with curiosity and scrutiny in their eyes.

They wore varied attire, and most bore the marks of battle, a clear sign they had been knocking around the Game World for some time.

When they saw Gu Su walk out of the gate, the player in the lead immediately dropped his scrutinizing gaze. He took two or three steps forward, a warm smile plastered on his face, and spoke in a hearty tone.

"You must be City Lord Gu, right?

I’m the City Lord of the Heaven-Swallowing Giant Tree not far from here. My surname is Zhou. If you don’t mind, you can just call me Old Zhou.

These are my brothers. They’re with me on the Heaven-Swallowing Giant Tree, helping me run the city."

As Old Zhou introduced himself, he gestured to the players beside him one by one, his tone familiar as he deliberately tried to close the distance between them.

Gu Su was momentarily stunned, but his mind raced, and he instantly understood their background and relationship.

’Old Zhou is clearly a formal player bound to an Earth Type Golden Finger, and those players with him must be Game Workers.’

This kind of arrangement was actually quite common in the Game World, nothing out of the ordinary.

Gu Su knew that within an Undead faction, a Boss or Minion could only command a limited number of Undead.

Furthermore, Hero Level Undead were extremely rare and not easily obtained.

In contrast, players like Game Workers, though limited by their own settings—unable to raise their Level or possess powerful personal abilities—were human.

In this regard, they were far more clever than Undead Bosses or Minions and knew how to react flexibly to various situations.

When commanding Undead, they needed to give detailed instructions without any ambiguity, but they had a unique advantage when leading troops into battle.

There was no need for complex coordination. They just had to say "Follow me" to the Undead, and all of them would obediently follow.

On the battlefield, simple commands like "Charge!" or "Retreat!" were enough to make the Undead act in an orderly fashion, which was far more efficient and worry-free than a Boss or Minion giving commands.

Before Gu Su had obtained the Graveyard Demon, he too had just been a Game Worker who made a living by mining for others.

Many of the owners of those mines were formal players with a Golden Finger, just like Old Zhou. He couldn’t be more familiar with this type of player arrangement.

But a question still lingered in his mind. Gu Su looked at Old Zhou’s group and asked in a calm voice,

"So, what can I do for you?

You must have come all this way for more than just a simple introduction, right?"

"Oh, look at my memory. I almost forgot the important stuff."

Old Zhou slapped his forehead and explained with a smile,

"It’s like this: we recently discovered a pretty good instance world. It’s full of great stuff—equipment, materials, Gold Coins, you name it. The haul is substantial.

We’re now inviting the City Lords of nearby Mobile Cities to explore it with us. There’s strength in numbers, and we can all watch each other’s backs. Besides my Heaven-Swallowing Giant Tree, the City Lords of the Spirit Realm Fortress and the Dead Soul Train nearby have already agreed to go.

City Lord Gu, are you interested in joining us?"

Listening to Old Zhou, Gu Su glanced up at him, calmly studying his expression. Without a moment’s hesitation, he decisively shook his head.

"My apologies, City Lord Zhou. I already have my own travel plans, so I won’t be participating in this expedition."

Hearing Gu Su’s refusal, Old Zhou’s face showed no trace of disappointment, as if he had expected it all along. He simply waved his hand with a smile, his tone as enthusiastic as ever.

"Oh, so that’s how it is. No problem, no problem at all. To each his own. Since you have your own plans, City Lord Gu, we won’t disturb you any further. We can cooperate next time there’s an opportunity."

After speaking, Old Zhou shot a look at the players beside him. They immediately understood. Without lingering, they turned and followed Old Zhou, quickly heading off in the direction of the distant Heaven-Swallowing Giant Tree.

Once Old Zhou’s group was out of sight of the Graveyard Demon, one of the players next to him sidled up, lowered his voice, and asked with a puzzled expression, "Boss, are we just leaving like that?

Aren’t you going to try and persuade him a little more?

What if he changes his mind?"

Old Zhou scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain and certainty.

"What else?

We didn’t actually come here to invite him to join us in the first place.

We just came to see if the mark we put on him before is still there.

Now that we’ve confirmed the mark is fine, our objective is complete. Of course we’re leaving."

Another player, still confused, frowned and pressed, "But Boss, is there any point to this?

He’s a rookie City Lord who doesn’t even have a cockpit. Even if we didn’t do this, it’s not like he could stir up any trouble, right?"

"Of course there’s a point." Old Zhou’s eyes turned cold, and he spoke with a sinister tone. "That guy, Gu Su, may be a total rookie who hasn’t even figured out how to build a cockpit, and his dilapidated city can’t even move flexibly.

But you should never underestimate any player who has obtained a Golden Finger.

Who knows what kind of life-saving trump cards they might have up their sleeves.

I wouldn’t have been able to rest easy without coming to see for myself.

But don’t you worry. We’ll take him out soon enough and dismantle his Graveyard Demon. When that time comes, you guys might even get a chance to obtain a Golden Finger and shed your status as Game Workers!"
