the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart
Chapter 1535 - 1522: Call Me Brother
"Oh, you posted the marriage certificate, no wonder everyone is looking for me." Chloe Winston suddenly widened her eyes and asked, "Wait, you posted the marriage certificate?"
Did they impulsively remarry, and now everyone knows?
Constantine Stewart saw her slightly dazed and cute look and immediately reached out to pinch her fair little cheek, laughing softly, "Mrs. Stewart, this time, I can’t continue to aggrieve you, the wedding must be grand, so announcing the wedding, no problem."
Chloe Winston felt a bit awkward hearing about the grand wedding, biting her lip and hesitantly said, "Why not be a bit low-key, just invite some close friends and family, like the Shaw Family’s wedding, it’s not necessary for everyone to know."
Though she was looking forward to the wedding, seeing many lavish ones that were initially sweet and joyous but ended in tragedy, such contrasts were quite unsettling.
Constantine Stewart raised an eyebrow and smiled lightly, "Richard Shaw’s wedding couldn’t be grand; he desperately wants everyone to know he married a perfect wife. We don’t have such concerns, or do you think I’m embarrassing to be with, and marrying me is shameful, huh?"
The man easily saw through her concerns, and truthfully he hadn’t given her enough security, so Constantine Stewart chose not to reveal it.
Chloe Winston was speechless, looking at him with resentment, saying, "But I’m a celebrity."
"So you’re still despising me?" The corners of his lips slightly raised, he restrained himself, and said seriously, "Should I also enter the Entertainment Sector; do you think I might exceed the age limit yet still be as popular as you?"
Chloe Winston couldn’t help but laugh out loud, her previous worries and concerns vanished. Yes, she’s still young, a celebrity, she can still act, earn money independently, and support herself. Mr. Stewart is already thirty-two; he should be the one worrying!
"I don’t like extravagance; should we do it a bit simply?" She charmingly shook the man’s arm, laughing sweetly.
"I’ll think about it." Constantine Stewart reached out to pinch her cheek, tightened the scarf around her neck, snorting at her so-called simple wedding idea. This might be the only wedding of his life, simple and low-key? Haha, impossible.
After strolling along the Seine River, Constantine Stewart took her to a private restaurant by the riverside, a French romantic restaurant, not too large, compared to the bustling crowd around, this little restaurant was empty, with a notice board outside saying in Chinese and French: "VIP guests today, not open to public."
Surrounded by flowers at the entrance, set up like a wedding scene, Chloe Winston paused at her toes, not daring to approach, and turned back to ask Constantine Stewart with her eyes.
"Mrs. Stewart, please go ahead." Constantine Stewart smiled, signaling for her to enter. There lay a red carpet, the exquisite small restaurant decorated with lilies turning it into a floral world, a young French gentleman in attendant attire warmly greeted her inside.
Chloe Winston observed the carefully arranged restaurant, guided by the attendant to sit at the only table in the center, then saw a violinist approaching, playing a melodious, moving tune.
The man took off his coat, unbuttoned his cuffs, stood before the table, slightly bent over, leaned close to her ear, laughing softly, "Do you like it?"
"I love it." She nodded excitedly, genuinely surprised that Constantine Stewart could be so romantic.
Seeing her joy over such a small matter, Constantine Stewart breathed a slight sigh of relief. Although he wasn’t short on money, he couldn’t perform those distasteful television novel proposals like fireworks displays, billboard ads, and balloon releases, so he quietly booked this renowned private restaurant to have a meal alone with her.
In the future, they would be husband and wife, sharing hardships and joys.
Constantine Stewart signaled the violinist to leave and had the attendant open a bottle of preserved wine of the same age as him in celebration.
"Candlelight dinner? You booked the place?" Chloe Winston asked softly, seeing the attendant standing not far away.
"Yes, the first dinner as newlyweds should be special and celebrated. Although I booked it, we spent both our money." Mr. Stewart smiled.
An attendant brought over a delicate little cake, Constantine Stewart saw her joyful eyes lighting up, so easily satisfied, he couldn’t help but laugh, holding the ring box in his pocket, feeling a slight sweat in his palm.
Thinking back, he was foolish enough to win over a cute, charming young wife with just a few words back then, only to lose her for himself later, and now he had to propose formally again.
Chloe Winston saw her favorite little cake, picked up knife and fork, ready to cut and eat; she’d been running around all day and was indeed hungry.
Before she started cutting the cake, the usually elegantly handsome but inwardly aloof and arrogant man knelt down on one knee, opened the diamond ring box in his hand, looked straight at her with deep sexy eyes, saying, "Mrs. Stewart, even though this proposal is late, I still want to ask, will you marry me?"
The diamond ring in the box dazzled under the light. The room was filled with the fresh scent of lilies; the man’s eyes were deep as ink, looking at her earnestly.
Chloe Winston instinctively covered her mouth, stood up, happily cried, nodded continuously, choking slightly, "I will, I will."
Though experienced in much, she was merely a twenty-two-year-old girl, being proposed to in person by the man she liked was a first in her life, making her both surprised and thrilled.
Constantine Stewart held her tender young hand, firmly placing the diamond ring on her finger, bowed his head, gently kissed it, then stood up, regaining his seat.
The dinner was a bit dizzying; under Constantine Stewart’s devilish training, she’d gradually learned to appreciate red wine. Perhaps the good atmosphere, perhaps the major wedding event made her relaxed, inadvertently drinking half a bottle.
Chloe Winston when drunk doesn’t cause trouble, merely sticks around like a child.
Constantine Stewart noticed something was amiss when Chloe Winston was already drunk, the young girl resting her chin in her hands, smilingly looking at him, saying, "Uncle, you’re so handsome, as good-looking as my ex-husband."
Uncle? Mr. Stewart’s face turned dark, seeing her misty eyes with a unique drunken beauty, his gaze deepening, asking in a low voice, "Am I very old? Call me brother."
"Brother." The drunk little girl obediently called him sweetly.
Brother? Am I very young? Mr. Stewart’s gaze grew ever deeper, feeling the night should prove himself necessary.
