Constantine Stewart finished speaking and looked at her expectantly. At Richard Shaw’s wedding banquet, almost everyone was paired up. Following Richard Shaw’s wedding banquet would be Ignatius Leclair’s wedding. He had just heard Ignatius Leclair mention a few words, saying that the Leclair family wedding wouldn’t have as many restrictions as Old Shaw’s and would be a grand affair.

All this was somewhat stimulating for Constantine Stewart; these worldly festivities and warmth were foreign to him. For some reason, he thought of Chloe Winston, perhaps he should be one of them.

His mindset underwent a massive change for the first time. Usually, when he thought of Chloe Winston, his mentality was that she was a girl he nurtured, his possession. Now he was more inclined to regard her as an independent being and wanted to start over with her, to build a family together.

The man’s palm was burning hot, grasping her wrist tightly like a branding iron. Chloe Winston noticed that when he said they were going home, his eyes lit up. The words of refusal choked in her throat, anyway, there were 5 months left, she could refuse after 5 months.

After getting into the car, Constantine Stewart took off his coat and pulled off his tie. His meticulously styled hair was now hanging down messily, eyes deeply fixed on Chloe Winston, he said in a low voice, "I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable."

Chloe Winston, facing his unprecedented vulnerability, had no experience. Seeing his face still red, she unconsciously said, "Is it because of the alcohol? I’ll ask the butler to make you some hangover soup."

"Mm." The man nodded, his voice even deeper, not letting go of her wrist, holding it until he closed his eyes to sleep.

Chloe Winston tried to pull her wrist away but found it couldn’t budge. She dared not provoke the drunk man, thus was held slightly uncomfortably and then she made a phone call to the butler.

"Butler Uncle, Mr. Stewart is drunk, please prepare some hangover soup or tea at home. We’ll probably be home in an hour," Chloe Winston estimated the time.

"Alright, Miss Winston," the butler replied with a smile, not hanging up immediately, but hesitantly asking, "Is Mr. Stewart very drunk? There is a guest at home, reportedly someone from the Stewart family, a very elegant and distinguished lady."

The butler glanced at the lady who had waited for an hour and said softly, "This lady came from Paris and has been waiting for an hour, asking us not to call Mr. Stewart, saying she would just wait."

Chloe Winston was startled by this news—the elegant and distinguished lady from Paris, could it be Constantine Stewart’s mother?

She looked at the man meditating with closed eyes, the corners of his mouth still curled up. Today, with Richard Shaw’s wedding, Constantine Stewart might have been in his happiest mood in months, especially since he usually only drank red wine and champagne, avoiding strong liquor.

"Butler Uncle, just say Mr. Stewart is on a business trip, let her contact Constantine Stewart directly if she has anything important. There’s no need to make hangover tea for now," Chloe Winston said. After hearing a response from the other side, she hung up and said to Finnian, "Finnian, we’re going to Spring Prosperity Garden."

Finnian’s mouth dropped open in surprise. Spring Prosperity Garden? Is she taking Mr. Stewart to her own home?

Constantine Stewart heard the movement, slightly opened his eyes, and asked in a deep voice, "What’s the matter?"

"I need to go home, I left something there," Chloe Winston quickly responded upon seeing his drunken eyes half-closed, not knowing why she didn’t want to go back to Fulham Road with him; neither did Constantine Stewart want to meet that lady, nor did she.

"Mm." Constantine Stewart nodded and continued to close his eyes.

After returning to Spring Prosperity Garden, there was nothing at home. Chloe Winston asked Finnian to help Constantine Stewart to the guest room upstairs to rest and then called to order some food and milk.

Fortunately, it was daytime; the community property management said that delivery would arrive within half an hour.

Chloe Winston opened all the windows and doors at home. She had come home last weekend for a night’s stay; Finnian had the home security codes, visiting every few days. Although it wasn’t occupied much, the environment and air circulation were still great.

Chloe Winston checked the small garden and found that the green vines were already growing lushly, providing abundant shade. Come next spring, flowers would bloom on the gate and rooftop, instantly creating a sense of joy.

"Chloe, why are you back?" Finnian heard the noise, came over, and smiled, "When you called the property management for a food delivery, they said you were back, so I came to check."

In fact, Finnian had already informed the security personnel to notify him whenever Chloe Winston returned.

"I just attended the wedding banquet of Earl Thompson and came back to have a look," Chloe Winston nervously smiled. Fortunately, Constantine Stewart was drunk, lying in bed, otherwise, if these two met, there would be some awkwardness.

"Finnian, don’t you have work today?"

"It’s the weekend today." Finnian laughed, then said, "The Earl’s wedding banquet was probably quite bustling, too bad I didn’t get to see it myself."

Finnian’s connection with the Shaw family was not deep; if he wanted to go, he could ask Delphine for an invitation, but he didn’t. Especially knowing Constantine Stewart had close ties to the Shaw family, he intentionally avoided Constantine Stewart at certain occasions.

After all, they were rivals in love; if able to infiltrate a circle, it would be hard to make a move later.

"The wedding was warm and understated," Chloe Winston smiled gently, revealing two small dimples.

The man stood at the window, looking down at the two chatting in the small garden, his gaze secretly profound. Besides having some bloodshot eyes, his handsome face was slightly red but showed no obvious signs of drunkenness.

Constantine Stewart did indeed drink quite a bit, but he had a good alcohol tolerance. Once the car arrived at Spring Prosperity Garden, he had sobered up halfway, realizing something had happened when Chloe Winston surprisingly took him home.

The man pulled out his phone to call his private residence on Fulham Road, quietly listening as the butler explained the situation. Knowing that woman was still waiting at home, his face immediately went grim.

Constantine Stewart hung up the phone, his long, fair, clearly jointed fingers pressed on the windowsill, watching Finnian cling like a fly. His gaze had a hint of malevolence, not realizing that he himself was no different from Finnian; the latter was even more restrained and reserved.

"Finnian, go back and bring me a set of change clothes and also bring a set of daily necessities," Constantine Stewart instructed coldly. "And also check out what Rose Eileen has been up to lately."

"Got it, Mr. Stewart," Finnian responded quickly, thinking the old saying about seasoning with age was accurate—Mr. Stewart didn’t look drunk at all but very clear-headed.

"How’s the investigation I asked you to do last time?" Constantine Stewart thought about the Jade Pendant matter and asked indifferently.

"It’s been over ten years since the incident. Miss Winston and Rose Eileen were sent to the welfare centre around the same time, but the director doesn’t remember clearly. I’ve already had someone investigate Rose Eileen’s experiences over the years; any news will be promptly reported to you." Finnian replied with a face of cold sweat.

Constantine Stewart said nothing, merely watching Finnian enter the small garden, squatting with Chloe Winston to tend to the flowers there, suddenly feeling his heart was so obstructed. With a gloomy face, he said, "Go downstairs and say that I’m very drunk and need hot water."
