Chapter 1106: Chapter 1133: Interviewing Streamers (1)
No good deed goes unpunished; people are either scheming or stealing.
Given Frank Holland’s character, Mia Ginger naturally didn’t lean toward negative interpretations. However, it was clear that Frank had a slight crush on her, or rather, an interest. This was why she had previously declined his offer to sit in his car.
After all, he appeared calm and aloof, with sharp features—belonging to the type of man who isn’t easily approachable.
By saying this, she was naturally cutting off any ideas he might have had.
Frank was momentarily stunned, and even slowed the car, shooting her a surprised glance. After a while, he smirked and said, "Are all young girls like you nowadays?"
"..." Mia was puzzled.
Frank was implying, "Is your sense of precaution that strong?"
Mia: "!"
She wasn’t lying, but his tone made it seem like she had said it deliberately to guard against him?
What logic is that?
Mia felt both amused and helpless, rubbing her temple as she explained, "No, he really is my husband; we’ve already married."
"You’re still in school, right?"
"Yeah."
"Married in your freshman year, huh?" Frank chuckled, "It’s pretty rare to see girls getting married so young."
Mia: "..."
Did he believe her or not?
Is there a rule against marrying as a freshman?
Mia pressed her lips together, feeling a bit upset about seemingly marrying so early with Koa Jackson, and she didn’t really want to say more. The more she hurried to explain, the more suspicious it seemed.
But—
When she didn’t bother clarifying, Frank thought she was slightly embarrassed.
Being a mature man, he casually switched the subject.
They talked for a little while, and then Mia’s phone rang unexpectedly; it was Koa Jackson.
She answered, "Brother Jackson."
"Still at work?" Koa succinctly asked.
Mia responded, "No. Had a minor issue and went to the school; I’ve already discussed the internship with our group leader, not working as a reporter anymore."
"Back to school?"
"Yeah." Mia pressed her lips.
"Why didn’t you call me when you left work?" Koa’s tone held a hint of disapproval, reminding her, "Be careful on the way, call me when you’re done, stay safe. I have a surgery soon, can’t leave just yet."
"It’s okay, focus on work."
"Alright then." Koa had no choice but to hang up the phone.
Mia let out a sigh of relief and hung up the phone as well.
Beside her, Frank glanced at her again, recalling her earlier words, his expression starting to stiffen.
For the next half hour or so, the two spoke very little.
At exactly twelve, Frank’s car pulled up at the entrance of Cloud Capital University. He turned off the engine and, after a brief thought, politely smiled and asked, "It’s lunchtime, how about having lunch together?"
Mia’s expression changed slightly, feeling a bit awkward, "I’ve already troubled you enough."
"Don’t be nervous, I’m not pursuing a married woman," Frank chuckled, "Just consider it an apology for the earlier rudeness. Or you could treat me to thank me for bringing you here. Any reason is fine, let’s have lunch together. After all, we do have a bit of fate, right?"
With words like that, Mia felt it was hard to refuse. She nodded and smiled, "Then I’ll treat you."
"It’s an honor," Frank said as he opened the door and got out of the car.
Just after class had let out, not many students came out of the school yet. Mia led him to a restaurant opposite the school with decent ambiance and taste. They chose a seat by the window.
"What would the two of you like to eat?" The waiter placed the menu on the table.
