Chapter 1107: Chapter 1134: Interview Streamer (Part 2)

Frank Holland turned the menu towards Mia Ginger, saying calmly, "It’s my first time here, you go ahead and order."

"Oh," Mia didn’t stand on ceremony and asked him, "What flavors do you like?"

"Sweet or spicy is fine."

Mia nodded, quickly flipping through the menu a couple of times, thinking aloud, "Country-style stir-fried pork, fruity tenderloin, braised eggplant with green beans, tomato and egg soup, plus a serving of rice."

She had visited this restaurant quite a few times during her school days, so she was naturally familiar with it.

After listing the dishes, she looked up and asked Frank, "What would you like to drink?"

"Cola, please."

Mia then told the waiter, "A bottle of cola."

"Alright, please wait a moment." The waiter finished taking the order, helped pour tea for the two, knocked over the elegantly designed hourglass on the table, and quickly turned away.

Frank’s gaze fell on the sky-blue sand in the hourglass, and Mia, thinking he was curious, explained with a gentle smile, "The hourglass takes half an hour to empty. If the dishes aren’t served within that time, the meal is on the house."

"That’s quite interesting," Frank nodded.

Mia pursed her lips, regretfully saying, "Unfortunately, the dishes are usually served in just over ten minutes."

Frank fixed his gaze on her, also feeling a bit of regret.

For all these years, apart from Josephine Holland, his life revolved around work, monotonous and uneventful, sometimes feeling like a dead calm, except for the small stir he felt when he first met Mia Ginger.

Back then, this young girl had her hair cut short like a boy’s, scrutinizing him with her bright almond eyes, looking clever and mischievous.

Slender and petite, yet surprisingly bold.

He was somewhat intrigued back then, but after running into Koa Jackson, that desire faded, until they unexpectedly met again during a meal recently, when he truly felt how wonderful fate can be.

After all, they had even exchanged WeChat contacts, and he thought it was destiny.

But who would have thought—

Frank sighed inwardly, lowering his head with a helpless smile.

Mia didn’t notice him; her gaze was drawn to new arrivals, Katie Tong and Daniel Davis.

Katie, upon raising her eyes, saw Mia too, after a moment of surprise she approached them, smiling, "What brings you back to school?"

"Just some matters." Mia couldn’t explain the internship interview briefly, so she simply replied, while hearing Daniel Davis engaging in small talk with the man opposite her, feeling a bit surprised.

She didn’t know Frank’s profession, but both had the unmistakable air of professionals.

However—

Daniel was deep and gentle, while Frank carried an intimidating presence.

If these two were in ancient times, Daniel would seem like a strategist, and Frank like a regional lord.

Mia was lost in her thoughts.

While she was daydreaming, the four had already merged tables to have lunch together.

From then on, it was mostly interaction between the two men.

Daniel was quite smooth in dealing with people, though not overly talkative, he was tactful, making interactions feel like a spring breeze. Compared to him, Frank felt a bit more distant, yet he spoke courteously and humorously, making the atmosphere at the table naturally friendly.

As one o’clock approached, the four left the restaurant.

Mia waved goodbye to Frank at the school gate, heading to the faculty office to find Alexander Miller.

Katie Tong and Daniel Davis took a step behind, walking towards the dormitory building together.

Without the two outsiders, the atmosphere turned a bit quiet.

Daniel habitually reached to put his arm around Katie’s shoulder, but Katie suddenly squatted down to tie her loose shoelaces. When she stood up again, meeting his indulgent gaze, she felt a bit awkward for a moment.ℯ
