Chapter 75 - 76: Fishing Officially Begins
Chapter 75: Chapter 76: Fishing Officially Begins
After settling things with Aunt Min, Li Yang breathed a sigh of relief.
’This is the first step in developing the village. Its success is absolutely critical.’
"I need to tell everyone something. Tomorrow morning at six, go to Donghu Station to catch the bus. The driver will bring all of you to our village. Please bring your own lunchboxes. After all, this is the countryside, not the city, so I appreciate your understanding."
"No problem!" The group nodded in agreement.
"Also, the fee is one hundred and twenty yuan per person. Here’s the payment QR code. You can all go ahead and make the transfer."
Soon, Li Yang’s WeChat was buzzing non-stop. Clearly, everyone was sending their payments.
Li Yang casually opened the app to check. ’Everyone’s so well-behaved,’ he thought. ’Not a single person missed the payment.’
Just then, someone sent Li Yang a private message. "Brother, this is Liu Jinsheng’s alternate account. I’m so sorry, but..."
Liu Jinsheng was on the verge of tears.
Niu Wei had just called to tell him there were no more buses available to rent.
’But I’ve already made arrangements with people!’
’Now they’re telling me there’s no bus? How am I supposed to get over there?’
"Oh..." Li Yang simply replied before deleting him again.
Liu Jinsheng was left speechless.
’Damn, this peasant is ruthless! He deleted me without even letting me finish my sentence.’
HOLY SHIT!
He was at a complete loss for words.
The next day, around eight in the morning, the roar of engines echoed through the village.
Two large buses rumbled down the mountain road and into view.
They were packed with people.
The journey from the city was long, and the roads got rough once they reached the local township, so everyone was feeling a bit worn out from the ride. But the moment they saw Bishui Lake, their spirits lifted instantly.
Suddenly, the anglers weren’t complaining anymore.
"Blue skies, white clouds... my God, what a beautiful place!"
"This is amazing!"
"Hurry, let’s get off!"
Once the buses were parked, Li Yang stepped forward and addressed them with a smile. "Hello, everyone. My name is Li Yang, and I’m the one who organized this fishing trip. I have two rules for you. First, and most importantly, is safety. No one is to enter the lake themselves. It’s very deep, so let’s just stick to fishing."
"Got it!" the crowd nodded.
"The second rule is no littering. We have a beautiful environment here, and I hope you’ll all want to come back again, so let’s all do our part to protect it."
"No problem!"
"Finally, at noon, please gather at my little clinic for lunch. Don’t forget your lunchboxes."
"Okay!"
With that, the group grabbed their fishing rods and scattered to find suitable spots.
They looked more eager than anyone else.
Li Yang watched, thoroughly satisfied.
"You really brought a group of anglers here?" Xia Lian asked as she walked over, looking a bit stunned.
"Aunt Lian, I have you to thank for the idea," Li Yang said with a chuckle.
"How did you manage it?" Xia Lian asked, looking at Li Yang in astonishment. "That’s no easy feat."
Li Yang just gave her a mysterious smile. "Alright now, time to get back to work."
While they were fishing, Li Yang took some videos of them. ’This is perfect new content,’ he thought. ’I can use it to hype up the place on the forums and draw in even more people.’
"Whoa, a huge grass carp! I got one!" After about half an hour, someone finally landed a big one. It looked to be at least three or four pounds.
"It’s huge!"
"Right? My god, I’ve gotta catch a big one too!"
...
The crowd buzzed with excited conversation.
When lunchtime arrived, everyone gathered for their meal.
Aunt Min had already brought the prepared food over to the little clinic, ready to serve everyone.
"Not bad! I caught two!"
"I caught seven, but no big ones!"
"I only caught one, but it was at least four pounds!"
The anglers were in high spirits, chatting happily as they ate.
Even though it was midday, the combination of the lake and the large trees kept them from feeling the heat at all.
The more experienced ones had even brought folding lounge chairs. Lying back and fishing like that was the picture of comfort.
"Aunt Min, how are things going?" Li Yang asked with a smile. "Are you exhausted?"
"Exhausted? Not at all!" Aunt Min was beaming. "We’re not tired in the slightest! The three of us made a good bit of money from just this one meal. Xiaoyang, we really have you to thank. By the way, will there be more business like this in the future?"
"Of course there will be!" Li Yang laughed. "How could there not be? Just you wait. There will be plenty more. I’ll contact you when the time comes, alright?"
"Great, great, great!" Aunt Min and her two helpers happily went to wash the dishes.
...
As time went on, it was soon around five o’clock, and everyone began to pack up their rods and head back.
Unlike when they arrived, however, pretty much everyone now had a fish or two in hand.
Everyone was heading home satisfied.
"Boss Li, could I offer a few suggestions?" an older gentleman, who looked to be in his sixties, asked as he approached Li Yang.
"Of course!" Li Yang replied with a serious expression. "Please, feel free to speak your mind."
"The fishing here is truly excellent. I’ve been an angler for a long time, and I’ve never seen a spot this good. I’ll definitely be coming back often!" the older gentleman began with a string of compliments. "However, there are a few areas I think could be improved."
