Chapter 256 - 257: The Results Are Out

Chapter 256: Chapter 257: The Results Are Out

Right after they selected a chicken coop as the test site, the feed arrived.

Two bags were delivered in total, mainly because there wasn’t much stock available.

After the feed was brought down, Li Yang personally prepared it.

The Spiritual Qi in this feed had been heavily diluted, so it would surely take a little longer to have an effect.

"Can you even get them to eat?" Lin Shu said, shaking his head. "These chickens are sick. They have absolutely no appetite."

Li Yang smiled. "They might not have had an appetite before, but now..."

With a faint smile, Li Yang placed the feed down and made a sound to call the chickens.

In response, the chickens heard the sound and, as if answering a summons, immediately began to flock over.

Soon, the chickens began to eat.

Lin Shu watched, dumbfounded.

He had spent so much effort over the past few days just trying to get these chickens to eat, so he was shocked that Li Yang had accomplished it so easily.

"How did you do that?" Lin Shu asked Li Yang in astonishment.

Li Yang smiled. "Maybe I just have a friendly face."

That was, of course, nonsense.

Professor Jin was also intrigued. ’Looks like this fellow really does have a few tricks up his sleeve.’

"All right, let them eat," Li Yang said. "They should be better by tomorrow morning. By the way, Professor Jin, if you’re skeptical, feel free to stand guard here. That way, you can’t accuse me of swapping out the chickens."

Professor Jin smiled genially. "Mr. Li, my skepticism is purely for the sake of science. Please don’t take it personally."

Li Yang gave a dry laugh. "Alright, we’ll leave it at that for now."

In the end, both Li Yang and Professor Jin ended up staying at the farm.

Professor Jin needed to make frequent observations, while Li Yang was simply there to wait.

’What’s there to observe? They’ll be perfectly fine by tomorrow morning.’

While Li Yang was resting inside, Lin Shu pulled Professor Jin aside, his expression full of doubt. "Professor Jin, can this stuff really work?"

Professor Jin thought for a moment. "I can’t say for sure about anything else, but according to the report from the pheasant farm, their pheasants are indeed free of the plague. That much is certain."

"Just the feed?" Lin Shu was hopeful, but he still found it hard to believe.

’He’d never heard of such a thing before.’

Professor Jin shook his head. "I’ve only seen the report. I wasn’t there in person, so I couldn’t confirm anything. That’s why I came here to your farm to test it myself."

Lin Shu muttered an "oh." "He seems very confident. It would be great if he could actually cure them."

Professor Jin nodded, growing more curious. ’Is this fellow really so self-assured?’

That day, it’s safe to say many people were on edge. Only Li Yang was completely at ease.

Early the next morning, when Li Yang got up, he found that not only were Professor Jin and Lin Shu already awake, but even Director Xu had personally come.

Compared to them, Li Yang was up very late.

"Hurry up," Professor Jin said, growing impatient. "We’re all waiting for the results."

"You can go on ahead," Li Yang said unhurriedly. "It’s fine, I’ll be right there."

But no one moved.

"I’m not going to run away!" Li Yang said with some exasperation.

"We’re not afraid you’ll run!" Director Xu laughed. "Even if it doesn’t work, it’s not like you’ve committed a crime. We just want to wait and see the results together with you."

Li Yang could only wash up quickly before following them to the coop.

Inside the chicken coop, a rooster was crowing loud and proud.

The powerful sound left all of them stunned.

Lin Shu dashed forward, his face alight with ecstasy. "They’re cured... They’re cured! They’re all cured! Quick, come and see!"

The others quickly hurried over to the coop.

Sure enough, the chickens bore no resemblance to their state from the previous day. Every single one was brimming with energy.

"This..." Director Xu was dumbfounded.

As for Professor Jin, his eyes were shining with excitement.

’My god, I watched this happen with my own two eyes.’

’There’s no way this could be faked.’

"Catch a few for testing!" Professor Jin ordered immediately. "Quick, grab a few at random."

Lin Shu immediately scrambled to catch some chickens.

After catching them, he rushed over to Li Yang’s side. "Mr. Li, how are you selling this feed? I want to buy it. I’ll take as much as you have... Sell it all to me, quickly!"

Li Yang chuckled. "Boss Lin, there’s no rush. Let’s wait for the test results to come in before we discuss it, alright?"

"Okay, but you have to promise to supply me..." Of course, Lin Shu knew he had to wait. He just wanted to take this chance to get on Li Yang’s good side. ’If other people find out about a feed this effective, they’ll be scrambling to get it.’

’If he could get friendlier with Li Yang, his own chances of securing the feed would be much higher.’

’Otherwise... there wouldn’t be any left for him.’

The samples were quickly taken for testing, and Professor Jin went to oversee it personally.

Meanwhile, Director Xu took Li Yang back to his office.

The test results came back quickly, and Professor Jin delivered them personally to Director Xu’s office.

Li Yang was also sitting there, his expression calm and unconcerned.

Professor Jin glanced at him before stepping forward to hand the report to Director Xu. "Director Xu, the results are in. The chickens are healthy—perfectly healthy!"
