Chapter 129: Chapter 130: Recruiting People to Prepare Feed

Li Yang scoffed. Looking at the old man, he said, "Old geezer, say that again?"

"How dare you talk like that!" the young man raged, pointing at Li Yang. "Say that again if you have the guts."

"I called you an old geezer, which means I’m not selling," Li Yang said, completely unintimidated. "Who the hell do you think you are? Scram."

The old man’s temper flared. "Young man, you should know what’s good for you. Sell this medicated wine to me, and you’ll make ten thousand yuan. If you refuse, then starting today, you can forget about selling any of it at all."

"Bullshit! Who the fuck do you think you are!" Li Yang spat. "Get the hell out of my sight."

"You!" The old man’s face was livid with rage. "Let me tell you something. I am He Weiweng, the owner of Hundred Herbs Hall."

"I don’t care who you are," Li Yang said coldly. "Get out of here right now, or don’t blame me for what happens next."

He Weiweng pointed at Li Yang. "You’ll regret this. You people will regret this!"

With that, He Weiweng turned and stormed away, seething with resentment.

"We’re in trouble, big trouble..." Shang Hongyun was startled to hear the name. "How did we end up provoking that menace?" she said anxiously. "This is going to be a huge problem."

"What’s wrong?" Li Yang asked, confused.

"Oh, he’s bad news! The owner of Hundred Herbs Hall..." Shang Hongyun said, growing frantic. "It’s one of the biggest herbal medicine halls in the area! He’s definitely set his sights on our medicated wine and just wants to take it by force. And... you just completely offended him with what you said."

"He thinks he can buy my secret recipe for a mere ten thousand yuan?" Li Yang couldn’t care less about Hundred Herbs Hall. "How could I possibly accept an offer like that?" he said, annoyed.

Shang Hongyun understood his point, of course, but she was still panicking.

"I know you’re right, but he’s not just some nobody. I’m afraid he’s going to come after us for this," Shang Hongyun said with concern.

"Forget about him!" Li Yang wasn’t about to let it bother him. He tried to reassure her, saying, "That old geezer is shameless, thinking he can just gobble up my medicated wine. Don’t pay him any mind."

There was nothing else Shang Hongyun could do.

Li Yang left and returned to the village.

With a few more people staying over, the village was livelier than before.

"Aunt Lian, are the guests settling in okay?" Li Yang asked, seeing Xia Lian also enjoying the cool air in front of the small clinic.

"No complaints at all! In fact, they keep saying how well they sleep at night here. They say it’s so much cooler than the city that they don’t even need air conditioning."

Li Yang laughed. It went without saying that it was much cooler here than in the city.

"It’s the same with the two couples at my place! They say our village has beautiful scenery and that the fish is fantastic. Their kid even said he doesn’t want to leave and wants to stay another night."

Others quickly gathered around, and a lively conversation broke out.

"Xiaoyang, do you think more people will come to stay here in the future?" one of the villagers who hadn’t yet hosted any guests asked, their voice full of hope.

After all, it was fifty yuan a night.

"I’m sure there will be!" Li Yang said after a moment of thought. "They’ll be coming back regularly to fish, so we’ll get more visitors. Don’t worry."

The others nodded.

"The scenery here is beautiful. As they keep coming to fish, they’ll probably decide to stay over, just like the people here now," Li Yang said with a smile. "Don’t you worry. In the future, there will definitely be more people staying here. Wouldn’t it be great if you all could open your own guesthouses then?"

Everyone else laughed.

They thought he was just trying to make them feel better.

But only Li Yang knew that he wasn’t just saying that to comfort them—he was completely serious.

Early the next morning, the feed mill machinery was delivered.

Li Yang had them install it in front of the old village committee building.

The building was still under renovation, so it would probably be a few days before the machinery could be moved inside.

After seeing the delivery crew off, Li Yang turned to Zhou Liyun with a grin. "Sister-in-law Liyun, from now on, this is our feed mill. How’s that?"

"How’s that? It’s perfect!" Zhou Liyun said happily. "Xiaoyang, that makes you a business owner now! We’ve basically opened our own factory, haven’t we?"

Li Yang paused. ’She’s right, I guess I am.’

"That’s right!" Li Yang laughed. "That’s exactly what this is!"

"Oh, right. We’ll need to hire a couple of people, won’t we?" Zhou Liyun asked.

"Exactly. At least two," Li Yang nodded. "With these three machines, two people should be enough to manage the workload."

"So, what’s the plan?" Zhou Liyun asked. "Should we tell the villagers now?"

"Let’s do it!" Li Yang went to the small clinic, where a loudspeaker was installed. "Everyone, quiet down and listen up! This is Li Yang. My new feed mill is about to start production, and I need to hire two people. Anyone who’s interested can come to my clinic to apply."

As soon as the villagers heard the announcement, their interest was piqued, and they all started hurrying over.

Before long, a crowd had gathered in front of the small clinic, creating a bustling scene.

"Xiaoyang, how much are you paying the workers for the feed mill?" one person immediately asked.

"The salary is three thousand a month!" Li Yang announced. "It’s an eight-hour workday. In the future, if there’s overtime or if demand goes up, there will be raises. The factory will expand, too. It’s a job with a future, so it’s up to you."

"I’ll do it!" Immediately, many people raised their hands.
