Chapter 39 P2, The Strength of Two Apocalypse Knights
Chapter 39: 39 P2, The Strength of Two Apocalypse Knights
She opened her hand, and the blood scattered across the ground began to move slowly before accelerating. Red streams rose from the ground.
The Beastmen stepped backward.
"What the hell is that? What evil technique is this woman using?!"
The blood transformed into dozens of spikes. Valeria closed her fingers, and the spikes shot forward like arrows.
Several Tempered Body warriors were struck in their legs and arms. Some fell immediately, while others continued advancing.
Valeria killed the first ones while Nefrava brought down the others, but there were still too many.
Dozens of them continued advancing toward them. Whenever one Beastman fell, another quickly took his place.
A Lizardman’s arm was pierced, and he retreated, making way for others who advanced to replace him.
It did not matter how many were knocked down. As long as there were survivors, the formation could continue.
"Don’t advance individually! Maintain the formation! Don’t let them breathe!"
A Lizardman in the Elementary Profound Realm roared.
"Formation of three! Surround them! Kill these damn bitches!"
The warriors obeyed with renewed enthusiasm. The axes took the sides, the spears occupied the front, and the swords were positioned behind them.
Meanwhile, the archers remained at a distance.
Valeria watched them, the faint smile gradually disappearing from her face.
"It seems they do have brains in their heads after all."
Nefrava, the Mummy, calmly replied:
"We should break their formation quickly."
The first three Lizardmen attacked in formation. A spear came from the front, and Valeria transformed her body into blood mist.
The spear passed through her without resistance, but another came from the side. She returned to physical form too early.
The tip grazed her abdomen, and a cut opened in her clothes. Valeria immediately retreated.
She had been hit significantly. At the same time, Nefrava also received two simultaneous attacks.
A sword cut through her bandages, while an axe struck her arm. The force of the blow made her slide several meters.
The sand beneath her feet was dragged along the ground. Nefrava slowly raised her head.
"Very well. You want to play? Then let’s play for a while."
The severed bandages began moving again, and she smiled cruelly.
"You are finally fighting like an army, aren’t you?"
Then she attacked.
Her bandages shot in every direction. A Beastman blocked one using a heavy two-handed axe.
The bandage wrapped around the weapon, and Nefrava pulled. The axe slipped from his hands, and immediately afterward, another bandage struck his knee, making him fall.
Before he could get back up, sand gathered around his legs, slowly burying him until he disappeared completely, staining the area red.
A second Beastman tried to escape, but Valeria appeared in front of him. A blade formed from blood pierced through two warriors simultaneously.
Both fell dead to the ground.
Valeria spun toward another enemy. Her blade cut into his thigh, causing him to fall to his knees.
But three others immediately came at her. Valeria retreated as one spear passed in front of her face and another struck her arm.
When the third arrived, it was blocked by a blood blade. Only then did she begin to realize the problem.
There were several enemies attacking at the same time, and some of them were in the Elementary Profound Realm, causing her some damage whenever she lowered her guard.
While she killed one, two others attacked Nefrava. She had also noticed the problem created by their numbers. The two exchanged a glance.
They did not need to say anything else. Valeria disappeared into bats while Nefrava raised both hands.
A sandstorm exploded from her, obstructing the enemies’ vision, and she used the opportunity to disappear.
"Don’t let them stop! They’re trying to escape! Don’t let those bitches get away! Keep pressing forward!"
A Lizardman in the Elementary Profound Realm ordered.
"Fire into the storm!"
Arrows flew into the sand.
Then hundreds of bats emerged from the storm. The warriors looked upward, but it was already too late.
Valeria descended, her hand covered in blood. She landed on the shoulder of a Beastman and spun.
A red blade appeared in her hand. The robust wolf-like Beastman fell.
Another tried to attack her, but she transformed into mist, and the sword passed straight through her.
When she returned to human form, she was already behind the enemy. A blood spear pierced through his back and emerged from the other side. His body fell lifelessly.
But then came the attack Valeria had not expected. A warrior in the Elementary Profound Realm emerged from among the others, taking advantage of a small opening. He did not attack impulsively.
His axe descended, and Valeria blocked it. The impact made her feet sink into the ground, and the earth cracked beneath her.
She gritted her teeth.
"Elementary Profound Realm, hmph..." The Beastman growled.
"You’re not as invincible as you look. I’ll finish you, you little piece of trash."
He struck again, and Valeria blocked once more. The third blow opened a wound on her arm.
The fourth nearly struck her neck. She then retreated.
The difference of a small realm was minor in absolute terms, but it was enough to make this enemy dangerous.
Valeria could not simply kill him. She needed to create an opening.
Meanwhile, Nefrava, the Mummy, was facing another warrior in the eighth level of the Elementary Profound Realm, who also wielded a heavy sword.
Every strike destroyed the sand before him. Nefrava constantly retreated as the blade cut through her bandages.
When the second sword strike descended behind her, Nefrava turned her body, and the blade grazed her waist.
She immediately counterattacked. One of her bandages wrapped around the warrior’s arm.
He pulled.
Nefrava did not resist, allowing herself to be pulled toward him. Her body drew closer until the two stood face to face.
The warrior smiled.
"Got you. From here, you won’t escape alive."
Nefrava calmly replied:
"No. You were the one who came closer."
His eyes widened as the sand accumulated within Nefrava’s clothing exploded.
Hundreds of scarabs were launched toward the warrior’s face and chest. He desperately tried to brush them away.
Too late.
Some entered through his sleeves, while others burrowed into his open wounds, causing the warrior to scream miserably.
His cultivation in the Elementary Profound Realm allowed him to resist. He violently released his profound energy, expelling dozens of scarabs.
Nefrava was thrown backward, and her body slammed against a tree, cracking the trunk.
She fell onto the sand while the warrior breathed heavily.
"These insects... can’t kill me that easily."
Nefrava, the Mummy, stood up, her neck slightly tilted.
"No."
She raised her hand.
"But I don’t need to kill you quickly."
The sand beneath his feet began to sink. When the warrior looked down, he saw his ankle trapped. His knees had already sunk, followed by his waist.
He tried to escape, but the sand rose to his chest. Nefrava pulled her bandages, one wrapping around his neck, another restraining his armed arm, and finally another binding his legs.
As the warrior struggled, the remaining scarabs continued moving inside his body. His resistance began to weaken.
Nefrava tightened the bandages.
