The Strongest Talent Tree
Chapter 401 - 398: Come and Chase Me
Chapter 401: Chapter 398: Come and Chase Me
Strictly speaking, Sun Yaowen’s line of thinking was quite noble. After all, only he and Feng Hao knew the detailed formula for the magic poison antibody. Even the Student Union Headquarters had only verified its effects, not the exact recipe.
In other words, if they both died, the magic poison antibody would vanish along with them.
What he didn’t know, however, was that Feng Hao had already freaking given the detailed antibody formula to the Thief God Hall and his home back on Earth.
"Alright, alright. If you want to die, go right ahead. I, for one, haven’t lived nearly enough yet!" Feng Hao shook his head, exasperated. He kicked open the cell door, took out a mechanical workbench, and carefully started removing their Soul-Locking Shackles. "Besides, I’m swamped every single day. Where would I find the spare time to research magical beasts? So, you can just keep yourself busy, old man. The most I can do is help out here and there."
"You damn brat! How can you have zero ambition!" Sun Yaowen fumed, his beard practically bristling with anger.
"What do you mean, ’zero ambition’? I’ve got plenty of ambitions!" Feng Hao retorted with a pout. "Enough talk. We can finish this conversation when we get back."
As they spoke, Feng Hao’s masterful mechanical skills made short work of the Soul-Locking Shackles, and Sun Yaowen and Miao Feng were free once more.
"There’s backup waiting outside. Stick close to me. I’ll protect you on the way out," Feng Hao said grimly, not daring to waste a second as he drew his Su Mu Dagger.
It couldn’t be helped. Neither Sun Yaowen nor Miao Feng had any Shadow-type Secret Techniques, so it was impossible for them to sneak out the way he could.
"Move aside!" Sun Yaowen snorted proudly. "I am a mighty Seventh Rank Mage. You think I need protection from you?"
With that, he summoned a suit of impressive-looking armor and charged to the very front, taking the lead.
Feng Hao shook his head with a wry smile and followed close behind with Miao Feng in tow.
Just as Feng Hao had predicted, the moment the trio burst out of the tent in the southwest corner, they were immediately spotted by the Celestial Eagle Team Mages. In the blink of an eye, countless Mages from the Celestial Eagle Team abandoned their engagement with the three squads and charged over recklessly.
"Dammit, aren’t there guards in the dungeon below? How did this happen?" roared the few Sixth-rank Mages in the lead.
"Forget about that for now! Stop them!"
And so, the moment they emerged from the dungeon, Feng Hao’s trio was met with an unprecedentedly ferocious assault.
Fortunately, the three squads reacted quickly, rushing over to provide support at once. This, combined with Sun Yaowen’s power now that he was free from the Soul-Locking Shackles, allowed them to quickly carve a bloody path forward.
"Don’t get bogged down in the fight! Getting out of here is the priority!" Feng Hao yelled, reminding everyone.
Hearing his words, everyone snapped out of it—everyone except Xi Yueyao—and quickly began moving toward the camp’s exit.
Feng Hao sighed in resignation, hastily shadow-stepping to Xi Yueyao’s side. He scooped up the young girl, who was lost in the thrill of the fight, and tucked her under his arm. With covering fire from Li Mufeng and Li Haoyang, he successfully broke through the Celestial Eagle Team’s encirclement.
"Go on, kids, you go first! Your Dean will cover the rear!" Sun Yaowen, who also seemed to have been swept up in bloodlust, declared with an air of noble sacrifice as he fell to the back of the group.
Everyone was left speechless by this.
Xie Kuangfeng shook his head in exasperation, grabbing Sun Yaowen and pulling him along. "Teacher, this is no time to be covering the rear! Let’s just retreat together!"
"Hey! You little brat, is that any way to speak to your teacher?" Sun Yaowen retorted, glaring.
"..." Xie Kuangfeng was rendered speechless.
Just then, a furious roar thundered from the horizon. In the next moment, a terrifying aura descended upon the entire camp. "What rabble dares to launch a sneak attack on my Celestial Eagle Team’s camp?!"
In the next moment, the members of the Celestial Eagle Team were ecstatic, while the faces of Feng Hao and his group turned grim.
"This is bad! It’s a Hundred-level Expert!" Sun Yaowen’s expression changed drastically. "Kids, run! I’ll hold him off for a bit."
No sooner had he spoken than a dark silhouette streaked in from the horizon, transforming into an ugly man who hovered above the camp. It was none other than Feng Qianxing, the very same Hundred-level Expert who had been repelled at the City Lord’s Mansion.
Normally, with Feng Qianxing’s power, he should have reached the camp long before Feng Hao’s group. However, he had been tormented by the poison of A Little Red the entire way, the pain so unbearable it had delayed him for a significant amount of time.
A little delay was one thing, but the problem was that no matter what method he tried, the poison’s effects showed no signs of abating.
Watching his Qi Blood steadily drop, Feng Qianxing was thoroughly terrified by the potency of A Little Red’s poison.
On the way back, he had been constantly burning through his Qi Blood just to stay alive, terrified of being killed by the poison.
He had planned to figure something out upon returning to camp, but to his surprise, he arrived to find all the camp’s experts missing, and the place under attack by a bunch of little punks.
At that moment, Feng Qianxing, already seething with rage from the effects of A Little Red, completely lost it. "A bunch of brats who aren’t even weaned dare to cause trouble at our Celestial Eagle Team? Not a single one of you is leaving here alive today!"
Meanwhile, facing a Hundred-level Expert, Feng Hao and the others felt a sliver of despair.
"It’s over... it’s all over! We’re finished!" Sun Yaowen said, his eyes filled with anguish. "You damn brat, didn’t I tell you that you shouldn’t have come? Now look what’s happened! The magic poison antibody will be lost to the world, just after it was created."
"..." Feng Hao deadpanned. "Relax. I already gave the antibody formula to the Thief God Hall."
"What?" Sun Yaowen’s eyes widened instinctively upon hearing this, but he quickly calmed down. "Never mind. That’s for the best. At least the magic poison antibody will survive."
"Don’t be so pessimistic. It’s not a given that we’re going to die here," Feng Hao said, a sudden, cold smirk on his face. His expression turned serious. "Listen to my command. All of you leave first. I’ll lure the Hundred-level Expert away."
"Are you kidding? You think you can stand against a Hundred-level Expert?" the others exclaimed in disbelief.
"Don’t worry. That old bastard is afflicted with my poison, so his power is greatly diminished," Feng Hao said after a moment of thought. "Besides, as long as I have the antidote, he won’t dare to actually lay a hand on me."
Sun Yaowen paused, then instinctively activated his Crystal Eye to look at Feng Qianxing. "Good heavens," he asked, astonished, "what kind of poison is that powerful? To think it could reduce a Hundred-level Expert to such a state."
"Enough with the questions. Escaping with our lives is the priority," Feng Hao said, rolling his eyes. He turned to Bai Yin. "Bai Yin, let me borrow your Wind Spirit."
"Alright." Bai Yin gave Feng Hao a deep look, then directly fused the Wind Spirit with his body.
Seeing that Feng Hao was about to face the danger alone, Xi Yueyao couldn’t possibly remain calm. "Medicine-seller, I’m going with you!"
"Don’t cause trouble. Be good and go back with the others. Go and get help from the Elders," Feng Hao said irritably, shoving Yao Girl into Xiyue Frost’s arms. He then turned, leaped into the air, and soared upward with the help of the Wind Spirit Power.
"Old bastard, how do you like the taste of my poison?" Feng Hao shouted, taunting Feng Qianxing as he rose into the air.
Feng Qianxing froze for a second. The moment he recognized Feng Hao, his rage boiled over. "So it was you, brat! Hand over the antidote obediently, and this old master will spare your life!"
"You want the antidote? Then come and get me!" Feng Hao grinned, then turned and bolted. With the help of the Wind Spirit and Three-second Fire, his speed was absolutely insane.
How could Feng Qianxing possibly care about anything else? He immediately shot off in pursuit of Feng Hao.
It couldn’t be helped. No mission was more important than his own life.
