Chapter 213: The quiet meeting stopped being quiet for Noah.

On one hand, Ayane had helped him when Nozomi tried to kidnap him inside the high school and had also shown concern for him on other occasions.

On the other hand, Reina and Misaki were still quite dangerous, especially Misaki, since Noah still remembered that bullet perfectly.

Ayane lowered her gaze.

"I’m sorry."

Noah reacted.

"What?"

"I should have told you earlier."

She clasped her hands over her legs.

"I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable."

Reina opened her mouth, but Misaki looked at her.

"No."

Reina closed her mouth.

Noah observed Ayane for a few seconds and finally sighed.

"I’m not mad at you."

Ayane immediately raised her gaze.

"Really?"

"Yes."

Noah looked at Reina and Misaki.

"I was just surprised to find the three of you here."

Reina smiled.

"That’s understandable."

Misaki nodded.

"We didn’t come to cause problems."

Noah observed her.

"You sure?"

"Yes."

Reina raised a hand.

"Me too."

Misaki looked at her.

"That promise is the one that inspires the least confidence."

"Hey!"

Ayane sighed.

"Please, don’t argue."

Noah observed them, then looked toward the kitchen and Emma was still busy preparing something.

’At least they don’t seem to have hostile intentions.’

Besides, if they had really wanted to attack him, they probably wouldn’t have shown up as normal visitors.

Ayane had even brought a bag of fruit and Noah observed it on the table.

"Is that for me?"

Ayane blushed slightly.

"Yes!"

She took the bag.

"I bought a few things."

She approached and handed it to him.

"I thought they might help you during your recovery."

Noah looked at the contents, where there were fruits and several simple products, so he smiled.

"Thanks, Ayane."

She froze and then lowered her head slightly.

"You’re welcome."

Reina observed the scene and smiled.

"She spent a long time choosing them."

"Reina!"

"What?"

"You didn’t have to say that!"

Misaki took her drink.

"It was forty minutes."

Ayane turned toward her.

"Misaki!"

Noah started to laugh, at which Ayane looked at him and her expression changed.

For a few seconds she seemed to forget about her companions.

’He’s smiling.’

That was enough for her.

After a while, the conversation began to develop more naturally.

Emma returned with some things to eat, at which Ayane thanked her several times, just like Misaki, and Reina asked if she could have another portion, so Emma happily accepted.

Noah started to relax.

Although he knew those girls were dangerous, they weren’t doing anything suspicious; on the contrary.

They seemed to behave like normal students or the closest thing to that that could be expected from Reina.

"By the way, Noah."

Reina leaned forward.

"What were you doing when you fainted?"

Noah looked at her.

"Watching a movie."

"Alone?"

"No."

Reina smiled.

"Interesting."

Ayane raised her gaze while Misaki sighed and Reina continued.

"With who?"

Noah hesitated.

"Stella."

Ayane froze and Reina opened her eyes wide.

"The actress?"

"Yes."

Reina smiled slowly.

"Wow."

Noah felt a bad premonition.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Reina."

"I was just thinking that you have a pretty busy love life."

Ayane tensed up and Misaki intervened.

"That has nothing to do with his recovery."

Reina looked at her.

"I was just asking."

"Then ask something useful."

Reina thought.

"Was the movie romantic?"

Noah closed his eyes.

’Of course.’

"Yes it was."

Reina started to laugh while Ayane lowered her gaze and Misaki gave Reina a small hit on the arm.

"Stop it."

"I didn’t do anything!"

Noah sighed, but ended up smiling and the conversation continued.

Ayane asked him if he had received medical recommendations, Misaki wanted to know if he still suffered from headaches and Reina asked if the hospital had good food.

Noah answered as best he could and at a certain moment they even ended up talking about classes.

Ayane commented that she could help him with her notes if he needed to make up any activity.

Noah smiled.

"Thanks, but Hikari already prepared a ton of material."

Ayane blinked.

"Hikari?"

"Yes."

Noah laughed slightly.

"Eight pages."

Ayane fell silent.

’Eight pages?’

Reina smiled.

"Wow, we have competition."

Ayane looked at her.

"Competition for what?"

"For who takes better care of Noah."

"That’s not a competition!"

Misaki responded.

"Then stop reacting every time they mention another girl."

Ayane fell silent and Noah let out another small laugh.

’These three are really strange.’

For a moment, he almost forgot that they belonged to an enemy organization, almost.

Then his phone vibrated, so Noah took it out and it was a message from Luna.

[Noah.]

He smiled slightly and replied.

[What’s up?]

The reply arrived immediately.

[Who are those three?]

Noah froze.

’What?’

He read it again.

[Who are those three girls who are with you?]

Noah slowly raised his gaze and observed around.

Ayane was talking with Misaki, Reina was eating calmly, Emma was still in the kitchen and no one seemed to have noticed anything strange.

Noah looked at the phone again.

’It can’t be.’

He wrote quickly.

[Where are you?]

Luna replied.

[Nearby.]

Noah closed his eyes.

’Of course.’

He wrote again.

[Inside my house?]

[Yes.]

Noah felt that he needed to rest again.

’Why does everyone do this?’

He remembered that Luna had already entered his room previously using her invisibility ability.

They had argued about that and Noah had asked her not to enter again without warning, but evidently, that conversation hadn’t achieved much.

Noah wrote.

[Luna, what are you doing here?]

[I wanted to check how you were.]

[You could have called.]

[I did.]

Noah frowned.

[I didn’t receive any call.]

[I texted you.]

Noah looked at the previous message.

’That’s not the same.’

Luna wrote again.

[Answer my question.]

Noah swallowed.

[They’re Ayane, Reina and Misaki.]

[I know.]

[Then why are you asking?]

[I want to know what they’re doing here.]

Noah looked toward the three and replied.

[They came to visit me because they were worried.]

Several seconds passed and then the reply arrived.

[I don’t believe you.]

Noah froze.

’Great.’

Another message.

[They’re members of the enemy organization.]

Noah wrote.

[I know.]

[Then they shouldn’t be inside your house.]

[They’re not doing anything.]

[For now.]

Noah felt a bad premonition.

[Luna, don’t do anything.]

[I’m evaluating the situation.]

Noah closed his eyes.

’That’s exactly what I didn’t want to hear.’

"Noah."

Ayane called him and he quickly raised his gaze.

"Yes?"

"Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing."

She pointed at the phone.

"You seem worried."

Noah smiled uncomfortably.

"It’s just a message."

Reina raised an eyebrow.

"From some girlfriend?"

Noah didn’t respond and Reina smiled.

"So yes."

Misaki sighed.

"Stop bothering him."

Noah put away the phone, but as soon as he did, it vibrated again and he took it out discreetly.

[Luna: Reina is too close.]

Noah looked at Reina and she was sitting quite far away.

’What does she consider too close?’

He replied.

[She’s sitting on another sofa.]

[She could attack you.]

[She’s not going to.]

[You’re not sure.]

It didn’t seem like Luna was going to understand.
