The Ruined World Was Mistaken for a Game
Chapter 307: War of Liberation (6)
Translator: Dreamscribe
The dimensions that had received help from Arsilan's Heroes became one with Arsilan. During that time, countless people had been killed or enslaved by the Kalsus Dimensional Empire. The Heroes had appeared and liberated their dimensions, but the anger rooted deep within their hearts still burned fiercely.
Gratitude for liberating their homelands.
Their feelings for the Heroes.
And their rage toward the Kalsus Dimensional Empire.
With those emotions in their hearts, they joined the battlefield without hesitation.
Reinforcements from more than five thousand dimensions shimmered with blue light, scattering the light of hope across the battlefield.
The true Liberation War had begun!
“Everyone's aboard!”
Once Haebyul confirmed that Jinwoo and all the Heroes were aboard the ship, she shouted, and the vessel roared with the sound of its engines as it rapidly shot upward.
-We made it aboard too!
-Beats dying!
-The view from up here is incredible!
The Heroes who had been on the Satellite Weapon began escaping aboard the ships that had crossed over from other dimensions.
GRRRRIND!
The ship, made from wood tougher than Erka's steel, shook violently. Haebyul and the Heroes watched the Satellite Weapon through their information windows.
Almost the entire surface of the Satellite Weapon had disappeared, and red waves of energy continued pouring out.
BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!
The waves interfered with the ship's engines, drastically reducing their output. The pilot yanked hard on the controls. The engines bucked as if they were about to explode, and the ship barely managed to climb higher.
Blazing red waves erupted from within the Satellite Weapon, growing larger and larger. It unleashed such an enormous amount of energy that it looked like an expanding star.
“G-gravity…!”
Haebyul felt her body grow heavy.
The Satellite Weapon's gravity intensified, affecting the ship as it continued to climb.
“Ugh! Just a little farther!”
“Just a little more and…!”
“I-it's going to explode!”
The Satellite Weapon reached its limit.
Red sparks spewed wildly as it began splitting apart in multiple places. Flames composed of highly concentrated energy surged from the cracks, destroying everything around them.
“G-go faster!”
“Uwaaaah!”
“W-we're gonna get caught in it!”
KABOOOOOM!
The Satellite Weapon exploded.
It swelled in an instant like a supernova, then burst apart. Countless fragments of the Satellite Weapon scattered in every direction, sweeping through the nearby ships of the Kalsus Dimensional Empire.
The immense energy wave released by the explosion was about to reach the ships carrying the Heroes. At this rate, they would burn away just like the Kalsus Dimensional Empire's ships that had bubbled and vanished into nothing.
Haebyul and the Heroes all looked at Jinwoo.
They activated their defensive skills at maximum power and wrapped their own bodies around Jinwoo's.
“Hold on!”
“Ughhh!”
The ship shook violently.
“I-I can't control it!”
A desperate shout came from the cockpit. Flames surged across the ship's surface as cracks began to spread.
Feeling the warmth of the Heroes' bodies, Jinwoo smiled contentedly.
The sight of them trying so hard was rather cute.
Jinwoo had contacted Ella and Helby in advance.
As soon as he sent them the revised staging, replies came back. Helby had answered as if she found it bothersome, but she was looking forward to it more than anyone.
Countless dimensions had joined Arsilan.
It was such a moving situation that Ella and Helby could not possibly just stand by and watch.
The ships that had come to rescue the Heroes were moments away from being engulfed by the explosion.
‘Now!’
At Jinwoo's signal, brilliant golden light burst forth. Between the ships carrying the Heroes, the Goddess of Arsilan appeared, wreathed in golden radiance.
Ella gazed at the explosion surging toward the ships, then quietly raised one hand.
FLASH!
The blazing red energy wave stopped as if time itself had frozen.
“Ella-nim?”
“O-oooooh!”
“It's Ella-nim!”
A golden barrier formed around every ship carrying Heroes. The frozen explosion resumed and swept through the surrounding area, but the golden barriers blocked it completely.
Ella looked at the Satellite Weapon, now shattered beyond recognition, then turned toward the ships. She raised two fingers in a V sign.
“Uwaaaah!”
“Sniff! I'm so glad I survived!”
“That's what I'm talking about!”
-It's Ella-nim!
-Whoa! That's insane!
-We're advancing straight to the Great Gate!
-Anyone with key cards! Join up with us!
The communication channels were filled with cheerful voices.
Erka's warriors and all the reinforcements joined the various communication channels.
Jinwoo smiled as he looked at Haebyul and the Heroes.
“Hope is beautiful indeed! That Great Gate awaits us! Our battle shall become legend and live on as an epic of the Dimensional Realm!”
At Jinwoo's declaration, Haebyul and the Heroes chuckled and shook their heads.
“Yeah. We can't sit this one out.”
“Whatever! Let's just charge!”
Hearing Haebyul and UruBear, Erka's warriors nodded.
They had no hesitation about risking their lives.
If they could burn their souls away and die here, it would instead be an honor.
This was vengeance for the countless dimensions that had been reduced to bubbles and vanished, as well as the pride of those who had survived.
“To the Great Gate! Full speed ahead!”
At the Erka warrior commander's shout, the Erka native sitting in the cockpit grinned.
“Our ship's final stop is the Great Gate! We're expecting some trouble landing, so please be careful!”
Everyone burst into laughter at the pilot's words.
All the ships that had escaped the Satellite Weapon began heading toward the Great Gate. General Gord's fleet, however, had no intention of simply watching. It unleashed overwhelming firepower upon everything approaching the Great Gate.
KABOOOOOM!
The golden barriers granted by Ella blocked the barrage of red beams, but they were reaching their limit.
“That firepower's brutal!”
“That fucking bastard really won't quit…!”
“What about our response?”
The enormous wreckage of the Satellite Weapon began falling, pulled in by the Great Gate's gravity. The fragments turned into countless meteors and rained down toward the Great Gate, catching several ships in their path.
Arsilan's fleet was also returning fire as it raced toward the Great Gate at full speed.
The sight was overwhelming beyond words.
This was truly a Liberation War worthy of being recorded in the history of the Dimensional Realm!
Haebyul stared at General Gord's fleet displayed on her information window. A section along the side of a colossal battleship opened, and fighters poured out.
“Fighters?”
“They've got everything, huh.”
The fighters maneuvered with razor-sharp agility as they rushed toward the ships carrying the Heroes. The Magic Armor units responded, but there were too few of them to intercept every fighter.
“I-I don't think we can keep advancing like this!”
The pilot shouted, his face pale.
It was impossible to reach the Great Gate while breaking through fighters approaching from every direction and the barrage of red beams pouring from the battleships.
The enemy's counterattack was fierce.
[Do not stop. Keep moving forward.]
A voice echoed through everyone's minds.
It resembled fierce starlight, yet carried a strange warmth. The Heroes instantly recognized its owner.
Helby stood atop Arsilan's colossal ship with her arms crossed. A fierce grin curled across her lips as she extended her index finger forward.
KABOOOOOM!
Starlight surged forth and struck General Gord's fleet. It pierced through the ships' shields in an instant and swept across their hulls. The invincible fleet led by General Gord became engulfed in starlight and began exploding.
Helby did not stop there.
She swept her finger sideways. A straight line was drawn through space, wiping out every ship along its path.
Helby's body became enveloped in starlight before transforming into the form of a Divine Dragon. As her wings, blazing with starlight, spread wide, the fighters heading for the Heroes' ships froze in place.
[I will clear the way.]
Fragments of the Satellite Weapon obstructed their advance, while General Gord's ships blocked the path. But now they would no longer be able to stop them. As Helby opened her mouth, starlight began swirling, forming a galaxy.
“O-oooooh!”
“Breath!”
“Hell yeah!”
“Go!”
Every Hero watching clenched their fists and cheered.
It almost seemed as though they could hear Helby laughing.
At that moment, the starlight exploded and her Breath blasted forth.
Every obstacle in its path vanished without leaving so much as a trace. General Gord's massive ships disappeared as though sugar were dissolving in water, and even the fragments of the Satellite Weapon were annihilated.
Ella clenched her fist, and brilliant golden light ignited around it.
FWOOSH!
She shot forward like a comet, tracing a brilliant arc toward General Gord's fleet. Reaching a massive ship, she casually shattered its shield and arrived directly in front of the hull.
[Goddess Punch!]
Ella's fist struck!
Her fist pierced the ship's thick armor far too easily. The ship's armor, which remained unaffected by all but the most extreme temperatures, began bubbling and boiling.
That was only the beginning.
The entire ship suddenly swelled, then cracked apart. Brilliant golden light poured from the widening fissures, and the ship glittered like a star in an instant.
KABOOOOOM!
The massive ship exploded into fragments.
The Erka warriors watching alongside the Heroes were dumbstruck. Some simply stood there with their mouths hanging open in shock. The others who had come to aid the Heroes were likely reacting the same way.
“I-is that Arsilan's Goddess-nim? Um…, the Heroes told us before that Arsilan's Goddess was a symbol of peace and prosperity….”
The Erka warrior commander asked.
Haebyul nodded and grinned.
“Peace and prosperity come from strong military power, after all.”
“Ah….”
The Erka warrior commander slowly nodded at Haebyul's words, accepting the explanation.
“The path is clear! We're heading for the Great Gate!”
The pilot said as he increased their speed.
Ella and Helby flew through space, protecting Arsilan's charging fleet. An enemy battleship fired a beam, but
[Haaah!]
Ella smacked the beam aside with her fist.
‘She's having fun.’
Ella's expression was overflowing with excitement.
Wouldn't anyone seeing her for the first time be horrified? But rampaging around like that was exactly what made Ella herself.
The ship carrying Jinwoo entered the Great Gate's atmosphere. Its surface glowed red as it continued descending.
“Huh? O-one of the engines just blew off?”
One of the ship's engines caught fire and tore away. As the vessel shook wildly, the pilot barely managed to stabilize it while struggling to reduce their speed.
“This ship was built with outdated parts, so the landing's going to be a little rough!”
The ship plunged downward through the clouds as though it were crashing. The Heroes cast magic to protect the vessel as much as possible. Part of the ship's side tore away, and fierce winds howled through the opening.
“T-there's a mountain right ahead…!”
“Smash it!”
A mountain peak blocked the path of the ship as it descended at an angle.
“I shall handle it with White Magic!”
Keeping to his character, Jinwoo took his steel staff in hand. Hanging from the torn-open side of the ship, he hurled the steel staff.
KABOOOOM!
The steel staff struck the mountain peak directly, shattering it as if an artillery shell had exploded. The ship narrowly skimmed past the tip of the destroyed peak.
The Erka warrior commander tilted his head.
“That was magic…, was it?”
“…Highly advanced muscle power could probably be called magic too.”
Haebyul made the excuse on his behalf, but the Erka warrior commander did not understand.
Once they passed the mountain range, a breathtaking sight unfolded before them. The Great Gate's crystalline mass stretched endlessly, forming the horizon. It looked as though they were gazing upon a planet made entirely of gemstones.
The crystal forming the land was beautiful, but the surroundings were not. It was a horrific sight that looked as though the end of the world had arrived.
Every one of the ship's engines exploded, and multiple sections of the vessel tore away.
“Emergency landing!”
The ship plummeted toward the crystal surface at high speed.
Thanks to the defensive magic, the impact was absorbed and the ship was not destroyed. It skidded across the surface for a long distance before finally slowing down and coming safely to a stop.
“Uwaaah! We survived!”
“Hehehe! We made it!”
“Phew….”
The Heroes cheered and went outside with Erka's warriors. The sky was complete chaos.
Ships exploded and fell like shooting stars, while enormous fragments of the Satellite Weapon were also approaching the Great Gate.
“Th-that….”
“That's General Gord's battleship.”
General Gord's colossal battleship appeared above Haebyul and the Heroes. Just then, as though it had been waiting for this moment, something approached from far away.
It was the battleship carrying NorthernGrandDuke. It was slightly smaller than General Gord's battleship, but because its design emphasized defense, it looked sturdier.
“What's she trying to do?”
“Huh…?”
Question marks appeared above the Heroes' heads.
Helby, who had been flying through space, rapidly approached NorthernGrandDuke's battleship. Spreading her wings, she seized the battleship in her claws.
KABOOOOOM!
Mana particles erupted from Helby's wings, accelerating her tremendously as she shot forward like a ray of light.
More than ten layers of shields unfolded around General Gord's battleship. Helby opened her mouth and destroyed every shield with her Breath, then accelerated even further and launched the battleship she was carrying straight ahead.
The sturdy battleship's ram collided with General Gord's battleship!
KRAKAKAKAKAKOOM!
NorthernGrandDuke's battleship pierced straight through General Gord's battleship, then became engulfed in flames and exploded.
“Woooow!”
“Hell yeah!”
“That's what I'm talking about!”
“As expected of big sis NorthernGrandDuke….”
The Heroes cheered, but Erka's warriors stood frozen with their mouths hanging open.
The soldiers guarding the Great Gate came swarming in from the distance. Countless transport ships appeared, dropping equipment and soldiers. There were so many that the horizon itself turned black.
It was one obstacle after another.
Erka's warriors raised their weapons and stood side by side with the Heroes. The Erka warrior commander held a spear shimmering with blue light and looked at the Heroes.
“It is an honor to fight alongside you once again.”
“Haha, I never thought we'd end up like this.”
The Heroes and Erka's warriors laughed together.
Ella and Helby, who had transformed back into human form, landed before the Heroes in pillars of light.
Ella and Helby extended their hands at the same time. Golden light and starlight collided, causing space itself to ripple.
A massive Dimensional Flower bloomed before Ella and Helby.
“We have heard your wishes.”
Ella smiled brightly as she addressed everyone.
“True liberation is something that must be won with one's own hands. Arsilan! Let us all welcome the day of liberation together.”
[Ella and Helby have bestowed the Great Blessing upon you for joining the battlefield with exceptional courage!]
*You will return to Arsilan immediately before death.
*Your weapon will be imbued with golden light and starlight.
*Your physical abilities will increase by 10%.
*Arsilan is now everyone's homeland. You can hold Arsilan's Mana within you.
The Great Blessing descended upon everyone who had become Arsilanian.
KABOOOOOM!
The moment the Great Blessing descended, light exploded and tore apart the surrounding space.
Through the ruptured space, landscapes with all sorts of environments and cultures became visible. They were the dimensions that had joined Arsilan. The warriors there let out battle cries as they crossed over to this place. The Avatars of the Constellations were summoned as well.
And it did not end there.
“Huh?”
“Us too?”
“Wooooaaah!”
“Praise the Creator God!”
Enormous rifts appeared in Arsilan's major cities and villages. Newbie Heroes who had been unable to enter the Dimensional Realm because their levels were too low, as well as Arsilanians who had previously been barred from entering, began crossing over.
“Whoa! There are tons of famous Heroes here.”
“Ooooh!”
“Guys, party invite please! I'm begging you!”
“Recruiting guild members!”
“The ground's sparkling. Can I pry this stuff off and take it?”
“What level are you?”
“I'm 30.”
“Oh, you're higher than me. Wanna party?”
“Sure!”
The Heroes were as noisy as ever.
The knights of the Sillion Empire rode forth on horses made of light. Garsha, Luceren, and the Arsilanian leaders of the major cities appeared with reinforcements in tow.
At their center stood Heina and Leon, the crowned Emperor of the Sillion Empire. Leon raised the glowing Holy Sword and shared its power with everyone.
“Huh?”
Haebyul and the Heroes looked behind them.
White, who had been there just moments ago, was nowhere to be seen. Haebyul and the Heroes looked closely at Leon. A white feather was stuck to his shoulder.
“Must've been busy changing clothes.”
“Seriously.”
“Haha.”
They decided to play dumb for him.
The enemies had already closed in right before them. The sky was still in complete chaos, and enemy ships were converging as well.
The Heroes and Arsilanians felt nothing but excitement at the sight of so many enemies.
Jinwoo extended the Holy Sword forward.
“Today is the day of liberation. Nothing will be able to stop us. We will win without fail, and we will launch our counterattack against the Kalsus Dimensional Empire. We will show them once and for all which empire is the mightiest in the Dimensional Realm!”
At Jinwoo's words, the corners of the Heroes' mouths curled upward.
The newbies could not hide their pounding excitement at experiencing a battlefield for the first time. Everyone watched the approaching enemies with sparkling eyes.
“We are all Arsilan!”
Heroes, Arsilanians, and people of the dimensions alike were all Arsilan.
Jinwoo paused for a moment and looked around at everyone nearby.
It was time to move onto a greater stage.
“Advance! For Arsilan!”
The moment Jinwoo gave the order, the Heroes and Arsilanians surged forward with ferocious momentum.
“For Arsilan!”
“For Arsilan!”
Everyone shouted as they charged forward.
