Chapter 2949: The Last Throne of the Abyssal Region
Chapter 2949: The Last Throne of the Abyssal Region
Some time after entering the Abyssal Region, Minos was arriving at the location of the fourth vacant throne he had negotiated with Lydis earlier.
After the initial success with the Throne of the Law of Death, Minos and his group conquered two other thrones—the one of the Law of Molecules and the one of the Law of Heat.
The first was much more compatible with Minos' wives' powers, so he kept this throne for his inheritance, while the second he was saving to hand over to Lydis and fulfill their agreement.
Conquering the two previous thrones was an arduous task for Minos. The one with the Law of Heat, in particular, had tested him in both extremes, heat and cold.
Lily and Devdar even thought he would fail that test, having for a moment seen his time hourglass freeze and explode.
Fortunately, Minos could control small fragments of time. By reversing the situation, he defeated that throne oppressively and without any openings!
The Throne of the Law of Molecules was less difficult, although its peculiarities meant that Minos took more than twice as long to conquer the other two thrones combined.
But he conquered it with great satisfaction, having judged that it would suit Gloria well.
Naturally, Minos predicted that after Abby joined the inheritance of the Throne of the Law of Death, Gloria would be the next to join his inheritance. And since her innate power was mercury manipulation, the Law of Molecules would suit her very well.
After these two recent successes, Devdar was shocked by the results Minos had obtained.
Not even Lydis had succeeded with those four thrones!
This made Devdar believe even more in the story that Lydis had told them and, little by little, he saw more and more of the mysterious silhouette of the Celestial King in Minos.
Just now, when they arrived for Minos to finally challenge the last throne in their path, Devdar looked at the boy with long golden hair, strong as a bull and extremely bright eyes, seeing him practically glowing in a magical aura from another world.
He had lived his whole life thinking that the highest peak possible to reach was level 129, but with each passing day, he felt the legends of level 130 becoming closer to reality.
In front of him was the only person capable of bringing back the glory of the Absolutes Age!
Meanwhile, Lily said goodbye to her father, sending him off to yet another challenge, but absolutely confident that he would succeed.
Lily was particularly excited. As much as the thrones weren't going to benefit her directly, she was excited for her father to finish the mission passed on by Lydis and then move on with their plans for the Abyssal Region.
After days in this region, they had done more than 'just' to pass the tests of the three thrones.
The Abyssal Region was an extremely rich and mysterious. The three had found areas to study the laws where they had spent part of their time, but they had also collected resources and been able to improve themselves.
Minos and Devdar naturally wouldn't change easily after just a few days, but Lily made the most of her chances and already felt that she could soon raise her cultivation to level 125!
Looking forward to a few more days in this region, as her father had promised her, Lily watched Minos disappear into the distance, standing next to Devdar, smiling confidently.
Minos disappeared into the darkness nearby. They knew there was a vacant throne over there. Their own men had already come to the area to confirm it and Lydis' information matched theirs. However, unlike previous situations, the area where the throne was, one wouldn't be able to see more than a few meters in front of them.
Even someone at level 128, like Devdar, could only see darkness in the waters beyond 100 meters away from them.
Initially in his exploration, Minos couldn't see anything but dead darkness either. The silence of this abyssal area filled his surroundings, preventing him from sensing anything that could provide him with clues, managing to make even him feel strange. The sensation that the world had stopped, even though it was still spinning, filled his subconscious, instinctively making him circulate his powers.
'What is this throne?' He looked down at one of his arms, his hair bristling at the moment. Even his heart was beating faster, something that hadn't happened before in the three challenges.
But amid this moment of doubt, Minos saw the darkness covering his surroundings change.
The path he came from was still dark and impossible to see far enough for him to see Lily and Devdar. But the path ahead changed, with a golden road slowly forming, growing stronger as if there was nothing wrong with light and darkness existing in the same place.
Minos moved towards it, feeling a powerful energy, icy on the one hand and warm on the other.
The life force of this essence was strange, to say the least. On the one hand, it seemed devoid of any life. The slightest contact between it and a living being would be enough for such a creature to wither away. But on the other hand, it seemed to have a powerful life force, capable of giving long life to the dying in their last breaths.
"And here he is..." A voice came from the direction from which both light and darkness seemed to come.
Minos narrowed his eyes, utterly surprised. 'Is there someone here?' For an instant, he doubted all the information he had gathered.
But his doubt only lasted a second.
'That's not a living being!'
"Number One Successor of Heaven, you get the picture, don't you?" The same voice, now in a more laughing tone, resounded through the underwater space.
"You... Who are you? How can you act consciously without a user?" Minos brandished his voice, still unable to see the final throne in the Abyssal Region, but aware that he was speaking to the throne.
Although he knew it was the throne's voice, he couldn't help asking who it was, incredulous and full of questions springing to mind.
Little by little, the throne came into the light of Minos' eyes, presenting him with a black and white form, with points of darkness in the middle of the dominant area of light and vice versa.
The throne responded in all its magnitude. "You really are worthy of knowing who I am. Well, you stand in front of Yin and Yang, the pillar of the Laws of Light and Darkness, the only Dual Throne to come from the Ancestral Realm!"
