The Rise of the Black Plain

Chapter 2948: The Third Inheritance of Minos

Chapter 2948: The Third Inheritance of Minos

Minos' native universe…

The Seraphim Dimension…

At this very moment, a significant number of Armhands and members of the Stuart Family had gathered at the central nexus of the dimension.

Sarah Stuart and Kendrick Stuart—figures one would scarcely expect to see outside Zocarro—were united with Hollie and several of Minos' longtime comrades from his many journeys through Zocarro. Leger, Diret, Juma, Klaus, Segiel's master, and of course Emlyn, Vico, Callie, and Jalai—all bore bright visages and spirits aflame with anticipation for another glorious day.

Nearly 25 years had passed since Segiel initiated the first of Minos' inheritances, and today Gloria was about to embark on her journey to join Minos's third inheritance!

In just 25 years since the launch of the first inheritance, Minos had unfurled a second inheritance eleven years ago—a venture begun then by Abby, leaving behind Ruth and Gloria.

Initially, Abby had wished to be the last to depart because she was undoubtedly the strongest and could thus contribute to the stability of the family. Yet in the last inheritance fashioned by Minos, the throne itself demanded that she take part in the trials.

After much deliberation and planning, Abby had left, and ever since, she and Segiel had not returned. None knew exactly what fate had befallen either of them, but everyone was confident that neither would fail to meet expectations!

Now, with yet another inheritance emerging for them, the entire family brimmed with excitement—relying not only on the formidable women of Minos but also on Minos himself, who was steadily fulfilling his last promises to them.

Nearly one hundred days earlier, the golden throne had signaled the commencement of Minos' third inheritance, and these experts had rallied together in farewell to Gloria, the penultimate of Minos' women to depart on her journey toward the Superior Realm.

Ruth, whose cultivation level soared to 124, stood beside her harem-sister with long scarlet hair—her eyes fixed upon her companion with anticipation for her own moment.

They had waited for centuries for signs from Minos, yet now events were unfolding more swiftly than ever, and not only did Ruth feel it, but Gloria herself was convinced that the day would soon come when they would return to his side.

As promised, after granting them ample time to decide, Minos' golden throne had once again pierced the dimension, manifesting before the locals.

"Are you ready?" it intoned, addressing Gloria.

Gloria signaled to those who would remain behind, "Everyone, I'll be waiting for you on the other side." Smiling, she fixed her gaze on her parents. "When the time comes, do not foolishly delay—choose to ascend and join us in the Upper Realm."

Her father and mother smiled warmly, nodding in agreement to do exactly that. Only Sarah—among those sharing Gloria's blood—had no intention of following that path.

Sarah longed to enter the realm just as her father and mother, to inherit a position that would bestow upon her the title of Deity!

She watched her mother soar to the heavens, her eyes glittering with joy and satisfaction; even if it took ten thousand years, Sarah would wait.

For now, she would live, cultivate, and one day achieve immortality so as to return to her parents and the remainder of the family. Until then, she would tend to those still outside the Upper Realm, staying close to those in her vicinity.

Ruth sighed as she watched Gloria vanish from sight—feeling somewhat solitary at that poignant moment.

She did not know when her own turn would come, but it was clear that when Minos' throne next appeared, that would be her time to bid farewell.

Thinking that the family would one day be without Minos and without those who had stood by him the longest, Ruth felt an urgency to organize both the guild and the family.

Addressing the assembly of high-level beings—each eager for their own future opportunities to ascend—she declared, "The day when none of us remain here draws ever nearer. Prepare your heirs and your subordinates! In a few centuries, the entire configuration of our family and the Armhands may differ greatly from what we have built."

The gathered figures bowed their heads in a solemn understanding of their duty.

Then, as the children of Minos joined Ruth, Jalai, Vico, and other high-level Supremes departed the central palace of this great world.

"Her Excellency is absolutely right. We must secure our positions for when our time here has passed," declared Jalai with a chest puffed with confidence. "But not only that—once Her Excellency departs, who among us will be the next to enter one of His Deity's inheritances? We must plan for the contests to come."

Vico concurred, "The children of Her Excellency and His Deity will naturally receive all the preferences they require. Yet I fear that perhaps His Deity will initiate new inheritances before they decide to leave the universe."

Emlyn sighed as she looked toward her daughter—who had also come for this day and now stood beside Sarah. "The younger ones still yearn to explore the universe. Even Kendrick, though already a Supreme at his peak, does not seem eager to join the realm with the rest of the family."

Jalai smiled warmly, "That is only natural. He wishes to carve out an impressive path—just like His Deity Minos!"

"That will be an opportunity for us all," Vico added, his thoughts diverging from those of Minos' heirs as he himself eagerly anticipated entering the Upper Realm and becoming an immortal. "So, my friends, do not be resentful when I defeat you and secure the very first spot after Her Excellency Ruth!"

Some of the others nearly burst into heated words with Vico, but Emlyn gently interrupted them with a soft laugh. "Will that truly be necessary? Think carefully. There is but one Minos. Yet what will become of the inheritances when Segiel, Gloria, Abby, and Ruth succeed in theirs?"

All fell silent as they ambled through the estate, sensing that many opportunities would soon arise.

If each of them were to secure a titled position in the realm, then they could take their lineages with them and later establish inheritances of their own!

In that case, openings in the Upper Realm might constantly emerge!

At least, that would be true until the family stagnated in a position where further growth would be nearly impossible…

They did not yet know the nature of the contests in the realm, nor how rare the thrones were—matters they could scarcely worry about for now. All they could think was how wise their decision had been to follow Minos on this long and arduous adventure.

Then they departed to follow Ruth's orders, leaving the seraphim palace far quieter and emptier than before.

While most members of the family ventured to other worlds and dimensions, Ruth still had some cherished guests by her side. Sarah, Kendrick, Kyla, Hollie, and other relatives accompanied her back to her residential quarters.

Kendrick grinned and asked, "Aunt Ruth, have you heard the latest news from the Spiritual World?"

"What's happened? Some new war?" she replied casually.

Over the past thousand years, the Spiritual World and The Adamant Land had endured five wars.

Long ago, she and the others had ceased to be surprised by the conflicts in that region!

The Spiritual World and The Adamant Land had grown immensely with the magnificent ascent of Minos and his heirs.

It was no wonder that other civilizations had recognized the opportunities in those worlds—prompting increased migration and, consequently, local problems.

The discovery of these two worlds had spurred rapid growth and development to the point where cultivation could now extend to the end of the 11th stage in both places—and cultivators of the 12th stage already dwelled there!

Yet such advances had come at great cost; on five occasions, the natives of those worlds had faced wars far more devastating than the conflict that had first brought Minos to Zocarro.

Kendrick shook his head. "Your first great-great-great-grandchild was born about four years ago. I've heard he is a spitting image of my father."

The fifth generation of the Stuart Family was flourishing in the family's native world. Now, over fifty family members shared Minos' illustrious bloodline!

Ruth paused for a moment, smiling gracefully at the news.

Of her two children, Rowan had honored his role as a progenitor by launching a prosperous branch of the Stuart family.

Hollie, even now, remained a virgin and showed no sign of ever having children. Ruth harbored no grievance about this—yet couldn't help but look to the family of her son, feeling almost as though her own stature improved simply by having more descendants.

"Perhaps I should visit the Spiritual World one last time before I depart…" she murmured softly, reminiscing about the many adventures she had shared with her man.

Hollie could only slip away silently from her mother during that moment, repelled by the thought of ever procreating.

After all, not every member of the family had inherited Minos' reproductive side!
