Chapter 3412: Know Me As The Antithesis
Chapter 3412: Know Me As The Antithesis
The Dragon Emperor and Amare entered a momentary face-off as both sides took stock of each other.
Lord Shenlong’s yellow reptilian eyes bore deep into her fierce amber eyes as he felt a hint of regret at having underestimated the powerful Martial Sage. She had proven to be much more formidable than he could have expected.
Amare, on the other hand, cursed inwardly as her trump card to catch him off guard failed in the face of his gamma radiation offensive.
It was what the dragon specialized in, from the looks of it. In other words, he had simply been playing around with her up until that point, indulging in an unserious battle where he held back against her.
The wounds in his mouth that healed slowly due to anti-healing bacteria that the flora released made him regret his decision of not going all out against her. She was definitely very powerful, he had to admit. While her power certainly fell well short of the top ten, she was a force to be reckoned with for all those beneath.
“Still, that does not mean that you are my equal.” Lord Shenlong’s voice was unusually composed. “I do not repeat myself, but for you, I will do so once.”
His yellow, reptilian eyes bore deep into hers. “Become mine, Omni-Martial. Together, we will create the strongest offspring in the whole world.”
Her eyes flared with anger at those words. “Even if you didn’t repulse me to my very core, I would never choose you. I have a soulmate that I love from the bottom of my heart.”
“Oh…?” The Dragon Emperor raised a scaly eyebrow. “And this man you love, who is he such that you would choose him over me?”
She smiled with confidence and certainty. “He is greater than you will ever be.”
To his credit, Lord Shenlong did not lose his temper at her words. He simply gazed at her with a profoundly intense gaze.
“He must be a powerful man
.”“He certainly is.”
“You say he is your soulmate, and yet he isn’t here to protect you from me,” the Dragon Emperor mused with a rumbling roar. “What kind of man allows his woman to fight in his place?”
Lord Shenlong’s mouth spread in an eerie sneer.
“No man. No man at all.”
Amare bristled at those words as her eyes flared with anger. “You… you can say anything you want about me. But don’t you dare insult Rui!”
The Dragon Emperor’s sneer widened with a hint of derision as his reptilian eyes lit up, sensing an opportunity. “I can already discern that he lets you have too much latitude. Only a lesser man is unable to control his female and instead lets her control him. I suspect that he allows you not to mate with him as you desire, does he not? It is the sign of a weak male. One who is unable to command respect and obedience.”
Amare clenched her fists as she tried to calm down.
Alas, she was hardly the most rational person when it came to matters surrounding Rui. The Dragon Emperor’s disparagement against her, she was able to take, but his words against Rui cut her with a pain that was almost physical.
“Allowing his female to fight his battles for him. Truly, what a pathetic male,” the Dragon Emperor laughed with a rumbling guffaw. “You would never, ever see me allowing my females to fight my battles for me, even if I was on the verge of death. Only an inferior, pathetic man with no balls would allow the female that he is supposed to protect to fight another male.”
“You…” Amare’s eyes blazed with rage. “Say one more word about Rui.”
The Dragon’s vicious smile widened.
“I wonder if your soul mate is even a male at all. Are you sure that he isn’t female?”
Amare’s anger boiled over as she shot towards the Dragon Emperor with a ferocious attack, unleashing a powerful blow with all her momentum flowing through her attack. Only to find herself falling right into the jaws of the Dragon Emperor as a flood of radiation bathed her cells, breaking past her materia prima.
’Ah…’ A horrifying realization dawned on her as the dragon’s jaws closed down on her.
It was the last mistake of her life.
Or it would have been.
WHOOSH!
The Dragon Emperor’s eyes widened with shock as Amare disappeared from his mouth, causing his jaws to snap down on nothing.
“What?!” His reptilian eyes widened with surprise as he felt ripples trickling through the very fabric of space and time where Amare should have been.
“You can’t let him provoke you like that, Amare.” A calm, male voice emerged from behind him.
The Dragon Emperor’s head tilted as his sharpened eyes glanced behind him from the edge of his eyes. His reptilian eyes widened as he found himself gazing at a young man in his twenties holding a weakened Amare in his protective arms with a gentle and affectionate gaze.
His eyes and hair were a distinctive pitch black.
Amare’s skin had turned into a sickly green from all the radiation that she had been bathed in, killing her cells across her body. Her eyes were dazed and hazy, dipping in and out of consciousness even as she gazed at him.
“Rui…” she murmured with a comfortable tone.
“Get some rest for now,” Rui remarked with a gentle tone as he closed her eyes, carrying her in his arms.
A domain expanded around him, one of trillions of quantum gravitational tweezers operating on her body at an atomic and molecular level as he worked to undo the harm that the radiation had done to her body.
“You…” The Dragon Emperor’s yellow, reptilian eyes bore deep into those of Rui as he turned around to face him. “You are the one they call Dawnbringer.”
Rui’s pitch-black eyes slowly shifted towards the Dragon Emperor even as the boundless ocean of darkness within his eyes roared with a cold fury.
“Friends call me Dawnbringer…” His tone was chilling. “But my enemies…”
His dark eyes sharpened.
“My enemies know me as the Antithesis.”
