The Martial Unity

Chapter 3413: Too Late

Chapter 3413: Too Late

The Dragon Emperor beheld the man he had heard so much about from the Minotaur and the others who had managed to return from the Panama Continent alive. One of three entities in the entire world that possessed Authority of Alpha, along with the Dragon Emperor himself and Jormungandr.

His clothes and hair fluttered in the high winds of the sky as the warm humidity washed over both of them. The salty odor of the ocean hung in the air even as the bright light of the morning sky illuminated the entire world.

And yet, the atmosphere was dark.

Rui’s attention remained focused on Amare as he began manually healing all her cells with his power, uncaring for the Dragon Emperor. The Dragon Emperor’s eyes lit up with hunger as he found one of his targets standing right in front of him.

He knew that if he consumed Rui, his Authority of Alpha would grow stronger. There was no better opportunity to do so, especially given that Rui was focused on healing an Amare that was poisoned with radiation.

He made his decision then and there.

With a single flap of his wings, he surged towards Rui at blinding speeds, threatening to kill him right then and there. Yet, Rui didn’t so much as move from his spot as a simple smile emerged on his face.

“Too late.”

The Dragon Emperor widened his reptilian eyes as a myriad of attacks converged upon him from a variety of different angles and directions, each of extraordinary power.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

The Dragon Emperor grimaced as even he barely defended against them, experiencing several cracks across his invintium scales, before roaring in defiance.

“Who dares to attack me?!”

His eyes widened as he beheld the source of the attacks.

RUMBLE!!!

Far away in the distance, a large fleet of ships rapidly converged upon the Hlakaschken Trade Empire. Each ship was exquisite in its architecture and design, diverging from others greatly, armed with powerful siege weapons that astronomically surpassed those of the Hlakaschken Trade Empire.

Along with them were giant mechs with dwarven pilots that brimmed with unfathomable power, warping light around them with the sheer heat they generated. Their crests bore two hammers beneath a crown, identifying them as the forces of the Bournvyrne Empire.

From the opposite direction, the Evolutionary Army’s command forces arrived, attacking the Dragon Emperor with a powerful joint attack. Their forces were comprised of the most powerful evosapiens that had served as the direct subordinates of Supreme Commander Anthea.

Shockingly, even the giants of Samarkha contributed to repelling the Dragon Emperor with their titanic bodies and unfathomable physical power that had the potential to exceed even Lord Shenlong.

A fleet of aircrafts surged through the air from another direction, bearing a crest with two fangs on it, reflective of the Imperial Tekvorian Federation that had also chosen to intervene by sending its own forces to stop the belligerent dragon from truly conquering a trade hub through which much of the world’s trade passed. “Make sure nothing happens to His Highness,” Sage Zentra commanded as he donned an official, formal Martial attire with the crest of the Panamic Alliance, followed by a variety of Martial Sages following his command alongside him. The Emperor of Harmony had deployed a Martial force in a show of solidarity with the Hlakaschken Trade Empire against the imperialistic Dragon Emperor despite Empress Schlieffen’s reluctance to sign an armistice, free-trade, and security agreements with the Panamic Alliance.

The forces of the powerhouse civilizations arrived in defense of the Hlakaschken Trade Empire at shockingly high speeds, covering the vast expanses of Gaia in less than half an hour.

The only ones who hadn’t attacked were the dark elves of West Genora, but they had already offered extensive evacuative and logistical support to protect the Hlakaschken Trade Empire and its people while protecting Grinolia Island from the electromagnetic and seismic radiation that the Dragon Emperor released.

With the forces of six powerful superpowers, not even the Dragon Emperor could go on about his belligerent rampage to control or destroy the Hlakaschken Trade Empire. The forces would definitely not back down, and as proud as the dragon was, he was aware that even he had limits.

…Meddling weaklings

,” the Dragon Emperor snarled with frustration and rage as he glared at Rui. “Only a lesser man would rely on outside protection for himself.”

Rui simply smiled softly at him.

“You will die at my hands when the time comes.”

His tone was chilling.

It came from a place of power.

The Dragon Emperor simply beheld him with his yellow, reptilian eyes as he sensed the unfathomable power deep within the depths of Rui’s eyes, before closing his.

I will have you eat those words before I eat you.”

WHOOSH!

With a single flap of his wings, he took off in the direction of Kiriket Continent, much to the relief of the many gathered forces. While their collective power was enough to deter even the Dragon Emperor, not a single one of them wanted conflict with the mighty Lord Shenlong.

Even if they were poised to win the conflict, so many of them would die that it would be pyrrhic, at best. They were glad that, despite his aggression, the dragon retained some rationality and self-control to ensure that he didn’t push it.

“Your Highness.” Sage Zentra and the other Martial Sages slowly drifted to Rui, standing high in the bright blue morning sky.

“Hey,” Rui smiled at them with a nod. “It has been a while, guys. I appreciate the support. How have you guys been doing?”

“Rather well,” Sage Zentra replied, stroking his immaculately groomed brown beard. “We have been preparing for war for quite some time now, training and growing stronger. The economic corridors have been undergoing rapid development, and the entire continent is preparing for a more dedicated invasion from the true world, from the ocean, the heavens, or even outer space.”

Rui glanced in the direction of the retreating dragon with sharpened eyes.

“Wise decision.”
